Reincarnation Of The Legendary Sword Saint-Chapter 91: Ascension
Kosan’s eyes flashed.
He opened his mouth.
A torrent of flame poured out.
Michael twisted mid-run, narrowly avoiding it, the heat washing past him like a tidal wave.
That was when he realized it.
This fire was different.
Stronger than before, far stronger.
Even with his aura fully reinforced, even with his entire body and armor wrapped in red energy, this flame was dangerous.
If it hit him directly...
Even armor forged from the strongest metal in the world would begin to melt.
He understood that instantly.
But his sword,
The blade he had claimed deep within a dungeon after clearing it, forged from rare dragon scale,
That would endure.
Kosan didn’t stop.
He raised both hands.
Compressed air and flame twisted together, firing forward in violent bursts.
Michael raised his sword and slashed.
One strike.
Two.
Three.
He cut through the incoming flames again and again, carving a path as he forced his way forward, closing the distance step by step.
Just as he swung to strike,
Kosan bent backward unnaturally, the blade slicing through empty air.
In the same motion, Kosan’s claw shot forward, aiming straight for Michael’s neck.
Michael reacted instantly.
He twisted aside,
Then drove his knee forward.
BOOM!
The impact slammed into Kosan’s chest, sending him skidding backward as Michael flipped away, rolling once before landing firmly on the ground.
Kosan immediately hurled fire toward Michael. Michael bent to the side just in time as another wave came hurtling forward. He slashed it in two with his blade and advanced relentlessly.
Meanwhile, Rowan stayed perched above, watching silently.
"Both of them are strong, but this Michael, he’s really strong, just as Father said," Rowan thought. "But there’s something interesting about Kosan. He wasn’t even at full strength yesterday. Even if he was this strong, it still matters. And I’m sure he’s evolving as this battle continues. He’s getting stronger."
Rowan’s mind raced. "That means two things: either he’s consuming something that boosts his power drastically, or another demon from the demon realm, higher than him, came to the human realm and also transferred some of its mana into him yesterday, making him stronger. That would explain it."
His eyes narrowed as he observed Michael, moving sideways, each strike slicing through the air with deadly precision, keeping Kosan on the defensive.
Michael kept slashing, his blade cutting through the air with blinding speed. Kosan dodged, moving as fast as his massive frame allowed, twisting and pivoting to avoid the deadly strikes.
Michael’s speed increased. He slashed again and again, each strike forming trails of red energy in the air, surging toward Kosan relentlessly.
Kosan raised a foot and slammed it toward Michael’s head. Michael twisted, avoiding it, but Kosan’s left leg shot forward in a counter-kick. BOOM! The force barely missed, sending shockwaves across the ground.
Both of them steadied themselves, adrenaline and energy coursing through their veins.
The exchange escalated. Michael’s sword flashed continuously, forming a red energy storm around him, striking toward Kosan. Kosan formed fire in his hands, hurling it toward the blasts. The fire collided midair, erupting in violent explosions, scattering debris in all directions.
Again, they closed the distance. Michael slashed; Kosan raised his claw, blocking the attack. Michael’s lips curled into a smile.
"Well, you just fell into my trap," he said, eyes burning with intent. "Sword Ghostki: Annihilate."
In an instant, Michael moved faster than ever, his aura flaring violently. He struck with precision and force: one of Kosan’s hands was severed, then a crushing blow to his chest sent him reeling. With another swing, Michael cut one of Kosan’s legs. Kosan staggered, now standing on a single leg.
Michael jumped back, his eyes gleaming. "Time to end this."
Kosan smiled, undeterred. "You think that’s enough?"
He raised the hands, summoning a massive firewall around him. Michael surged forward, slashing the barrier. The moment his blade touched the flames, fire erupted over his sword and scorched his body. He leaped back just in time, one of his arm plates melting under the heat. Blade raised, he prepared for the next strike.
Kosan’s grin widened. From his damaged limbs, new hands and a leg shot out, fully regenerating the injuries.
"Now, let me show you the true power."
Kosan’s voice dropped, darker than before.
"And as promised, you’re going to give me the crystal. And you’re going to tell me where that little boy is."
His smile widened.
"And after you do that, I might even let you keep your remains."
Kosan raised his hand.
And instantly,
All the flames covering his body vanished.
They didn’t disappear.
They were being pulled inward, sucked into his mouth like a vortex.
The fire spiraled into him, swallowed by darkness.
Then,
Black energy rippled violently around his body.
The ground trembled.
A dark flame erupted upward, as if the earth itself was leaking corruption. It crawled around Kosan’s body like living shadow, wrapping him completely.
"AAAAAHHHH!"
Kosan screamed.
The sound shook the forest.
His body began to expand.
Muscles swelled. His frame grew larger, massive, monstrous, towering. His armor thickened as if it was fusing into his flesh.
The air became heavy.
Oppressive.
As though the world itself was struggling to breathe.
Then Kosan stopped screaming.
He slowly lowered his hand.
His dark flames settled around him like a cloak.
He exhaled.
"Yes."
His voice was deeper now.
"This is enough power."
He grinned.
"Just yesterday, this was the power I gained."
He laughed. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
"Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, YES!"
Michael’s eyes widened.
"What?"
Without hesitation, Michael rushed forward.
His red aura erupted as he raised his sword high and brought it down with full force.
A strike meant to cleave Kosan in half.
Kosan didn’t move.
Not even an inch.
The moment Michael’s blade was about to land,
Kosan raised his hand.
And caught it.
BAAM!
Michael’s sword stopped completely, trapped in Kosan’s palm.
Michael froze.
"...Who the hell?"
His eyes trembled.
His grip tightened.
But the blade wouldn’t move.
"Damn it," Michael thought. "His strength increased again."
