Chapter 119: Chapter 119: Leave the 2 Billion, and You Remain Safe

Annabelle Linton shot the bodyguard a cold look. "Where is she?" she asked indifferently.

"Right here—"

The bodyguard pointed to a heavily pregnant woman.

The woman was beautiful and about seven months pregnant—a classic Hinodean beauty. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

She looked at Annabelle Linton with tear-filled eyes and asked in Hinodean, "Who are you? Why did you bring me here?"

The corners of Annabelle Linton’s mouth curved up. She sat on the sofa toying with a knife and replied, also in Hinodean, "I just invited you to watch a good show. Don’t you want to know which is more important—you and your son, or the money?"

"I don’t know you! Let me go! Please, I’m begging you, let me go!" the woman cried out. The moment she tried to move, however, a bodyguard beside her held her down.

Annabelle Linton leaned back lazily against the sofa, crossed one leg, and closed her eyes to rest, ignoring the woman completely.

Xylas Shepherd and Leona Grant slipped into the villa through a window. Seeing Annabelle Linton in the living room, arms crossed and eyes closed in rest, the two men exchanged a look.

"Leona, what do you think Annabelle is trying to do?" Xylas asked in a low voice.

Leona Grant’s gaze was heavy as he watched Annabelle Linton, a profound light shimmering in the depths of his eyes.

’He didn’t know what she was planning, either.’

The villa was so quiet you could hear a pin drop, making the woman’s sobbing seem all the more jarring.

BANG—

Just then, the villa’s main door was kicked open.

At the same time, a group of people swarmed in from outside, surrounding Annabelle Linton and her bodyguards.

Flanked by several bodyguards, Landon Sheffield strode before Annabelle Linton, his expression thunderous. "Miss Linton, we’ve always stayed out of each other’s way. What do you think you’re doing?"

Annabelle Linton slowly opened her eyes, showing no fear despite being outnumbered. Her lips curved into a slight smile. "You’re exaggerating, Sheffield. I just invited you over for a chat. A couple of days ago in Hinode, I ran into a woman who looked vaguely familiar. I wanted to ask if you knew her."

"This is your way of inviting someone?" Landon Sheffield sneered, his eyes on the woman being restrained by the bodyguards. "Out with it. What do you really want after going to all this trouble to find me?"

Annabelle Linton smiled. She picked up a pack of women’s cigarettes from the table, extracted one with long fingers painted with silver nail polish, and lit it with an expensive lighter. She took a practiced drag and elegantly blew a smoke ring.

"You’re a direct man, Sheffield. I appreciate that. In that case, let’s not waste anyone’s time." Annabelle Linton gave him a cool look. "Two billion. I don’t need to elaborate, do I? Don’t you feel that ill-gotten money burning a hole in your pocket, Sheffield?"

Landon Sheffield looked at Annabelle Linton without bothering to explain. He gave a cold smile. "If I had the ability to take it, I naturally have what it takes to keep it. Heavy is the head that wears the crown. Surely Miss Linton knows that much?"

A beautiful, poised, and meaningful smile touched Annabelle Linton’s lips. "Then I’m afraid you’ve forgotten, Sheffield, that taking something and digesting it are two different matters. That two billion... are you sure you can stomach it?"

Landon Sheffield’s eyes narrowed. He glanced at the tearful woman staring at him, no longer wanting to waste words on Annabelle Linton. "Let her go, and I’ll pretend today never happened."

"Oh?" Annabelle Linton laughed. "Big words. Do you take me, Annabelle Linton, for a pushover? Leave the two billion, and you can all walk away safely. Otherwise, we’re all going down together!"

Landon Sheffield whipped out a gun and pointed it coldly at Annabelle Linton, his face grim. "Girl, I’ve tolerated you long enough. First you bullied Faye, and now you kidnap my child. If it weren’t for your father, I would’ve dealt with you long ago. You’re threatening me? You really think I’m going to take a little brat like you seriously?"
