Remarriage Failed Again Today-Chapter 64: She Just Wants to Make Her Miserable
’She’s beautiful, capable, and worldly. She’ll definitely have a husband who loves her very much someday.’
’They’ll commute to and from work together every day and sleep together every night. When she gets sick, her husband will take care of her. When she’s tired, her husband will stay by her side and help her relax.’
’When he runs into trouble at work, Annabelle Linton will make him a cup of tea, comfort him, and cheer him on.’
’Soon after, they’ll have an adorable baby, and their family will live happily ever after...’
CRASH—
Lost in thought, Leona Grant dropped the teacup in his hand, and it shattered on the floor. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Leona Grant still didn’t snap out of it.
Watching Leona Grant from the side, Vivian Yates saw how absentminded he was. The fragrant steam of the tea curled upwards as the irresistible, fresh aroma of the tea Annabelle Linton had brewed washed over them.
He had become dazed after drinking her tea, so it wasn’t hard to guess what he was thinking about.
A sharp glint flashed in Vivian Yates’s eyes before quickly vanishing.
She smiled and said, "I’ll go check on Annabelle."
Still in a daze, Leona Grant didn’t react.
The coldness in Vivian Yates’s eyes deepened.
She walked to a corner of the rooftop stairwell and saw Annabelle Linton coming up with a tray of tea.
This spot was some distance from the rooftop, and since it was a corner, no one would see what happened here unless they looked very carefully.
Seeing Annabelle Linton approach, Vivian Yates’s eyes narrowed slightly before she offered enthusiastically to take the tray. "Let me get that. You’ve been busy for a while, go take a break."
Annabelle Linton shot her a frosty look.
’In my last life, she ’kindly’ offered to help me with the tea just like this, only to deliberately trip and get scalded.’
’The entire family thought I was jealous and had pushed her on purpose, making the scalding tea spill on Vivian Yates. Leona Grant shoved me, and I twisted my ankle. I was bedridden for a whole month.’
’And during my entire hospital stay, Leona Grant didn’t even come to see me once. I was miserable for that entire month.’
A sarcastic smile touched Annabelle Linton’s lips as she walked past her. "I’d rather not trouble you. If anything were to happen to you, I couldn’t possibly take the blame."
"Annabelle, why do you insist on being so distant with me?"
Vivian Yates grabbed her hand, her eyes welling with tears. "We’ve been best friends for so many years. As far as I know, I’ve never done anything to wrong you. Are you really going to hate me and cut me off just because of a few coincidences? Are you just going to throw away all our years of sisterhood?"
Annabelle Linton laughed abruptly.
’Sisterly affection? Between me and Vivian Yates? Did that ever even exist?’
"Seeing as you’re so stubbornly devoted to your role, allow me to correct you on a few things."
Annabelle Linton’s lips twitched into a deceptively innocent smile. "First, my name is Annabelle Linton. You may call me Miss Linton, Mrs. Grant, or my full name, Annabelle Linton.
Although, I don’t think that’s necessary. Hearing my name from your lips makes me want to vomit bile.
Second, we’ve known each other since childhood, but I never once considered you a friend. I only gave you the time of day out of respect for the Grant Family. There’s no so-called ’friendship’ or ’sisterhood’ between us. So, please, have some self-respect.
Third, please don’t call me Annabelle or any other nicknames from now on. It’s truly disgusting.
And finally, don’t bother with any more talk about ’misunderstandings.’ It’s completely baseless."
’Even though I desperately wanted to cut ties with Leona Grant, wasn’t the title of ’Mrs. Grant’ the very thing Vivian Yates coveted most?’
’I was going to rub it in her face and make her miserable.’
Vivian Yates stared at her coldly.
