Remarriage Failed Again Today-Chapter 78: Just Tell Me Directly, What Will It Take for You to Stop Being Angry?
However, after getting to know her over the past month, he discovered the exact opposite was true.
He had to admit that even though they’d been married for two years, he knew very little about her. His understanding was so superficial he’d only ever seen the surface.
He glanced at Annabelle Linton’s guarded posture and pursed his lips. His voice was tinged with awkwardness. "How are you feeling?"
"..."
He searched for the right words. "I didn’t mean to push you down the stairs... It was just a spur-of-the-moment thing..."
"..."
The air in the room seemed to freeze for a moment.
After a moment, Leona Grant spoke again. "Is there anything you want to eat? You’ve been asleep for five days and haven’t had anything... You’ve just been on an IV drip..."
He pointedly avoided the topic of divorce, and a sardonic smile touched Annabelle Linton’s lips.
He hadn’t even finished speaking when Annabelle Linton’s icy voice cut him off. "You can leave."
’Even though she was telling me to leave, at least she was talking to me. That’s a good thing.’ "I’m your husband. I have a duty to take care of you. I cleared my whole schedule today just to be here and show you how sorry I am."
Ashley Grant watched her brother’s shameless display with disgust, rolling her eyes so hard she thought they’d get stuck in the back of her head.
He had a real knack for saying the worst possible thing.
Deciding she couldn’t watch this train wreck any longer, she turned and left the room.
Annabelle Linton remained in the same position, utterly silent. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
Unaccustomed to showing concern for others, Leona Grant’s tone grew impatient. "What the hell do you want? I came here personally to take care of you and apologize. Do you have to be so ungrateful?"
"Oh, so I should be thanking you profusely?"
Annabelle Linton shot up to her feet, her eyes cold and impassive as she stared at him. "Have you forgotten who put me in this state? So, what, if I were to stab you, then put on a little show at the hospital, would that solve everything? Young Master Grant, do you really think you make the rules in this world, and everyone else is supposed to live by them?"
The title "Young Master Grant" was formal and dripping with sarcasm, and it grated on his nerves. "Stop calling me Young Master Grant. We’re not divorced yet! Just tell me what it will take to make you stop being angry!"
"A divorce. I’ll stop being angry once we’re divorced!"
"I already told you, a divorce isn’t out of the question, as long as you agree to my conditions."
’Annabelle Linton didn’t even have the energy to argue with him anymore. He was being completely unreasonable. He was only acting so smug because he knew she would never agree to his terms!’
’She couldn’t understand what she had been thinking. How could she have been so blind as to fall for such a bastard?’
"Then get out. Get the hell away from me and don’t ever show your face here again!"
Leona Grant’s expression instantly darkened.
’No one in the entire world had ever dared to speak to him like that. Especially not telling him to ’get out’.’
"What did you just say?" His voice rose sharply as he glared at her, a dangerous light in his eyes. "You dare to tell me to get out? Annabelle Linton, you’ve got a lot of nerve! Say it again, I dare you!"
A smirk played on Annabelle Linton’s lips, and she showed no trace of fear.
She enunciated every single word, slowly and deliberately. "I. Told. You. To. Get. Out. To get as far away as possible. The farther, the better. Go away, understand?"
Leona Grant’s hand shot out, viciously wrapping around her throat. He growled, "I’m giving you one last chance. Take back what you just said. Otherwise, I’ll strangle you!"
