Remarriage Failed Again Today-Chapter 82: She Is Indeed a Joke in My Eyes
After a brief pause, she chuckled. "How much did you hear?"
Ashley Grant brushed a stray strand of hair from her forehead and said nonchalantly, "Well, since you heard everything, I won’t hide it from you. That bitch slit her wrists yesterday at noon. She just woke up. Are you planning on going to see her? Or is it a case of ’out of sight, out of mind’?"
Hearing this, Annabelle Linton’s eyes gradually darkened.
’Recalling her past life, Vivian Yates had attempted suicide then, too, but not at this point in time.’
’It wasn’t time for her suicide attempt yet. Why did it happen so much earlier?’
Annabelle couldn’t understand it. She was certain her memory wasn’t mistaken, so she decided to go and see for herself.
Seeing Annabelle’s serious expression, Ashley Grant thought she was scared. She patted her own chest and said with a grin, "Don’t worry. We’ll handle whatever she throws at us. With me here, she won’t be able to pull any tricks."
"If she really wanted to die, why would she let herself be found? Since she just woke up, this could be interesting. We might just be in time for a good show. Lead the way."
Ashley Grant’s lips curled into a smirk. She led Annabelle to the door of Vivian Yates’s hospital room.
’She really liked this new, fearless Annabelle.’
Just as they reached the door, they saw Mrs. Yates clinging to Vivian and sobbing uncontrollably. "Vivian, you’re my only daughter! Did you think about the consequences before you cut yourself? You’re the apple of your father’s and my eye. We’ve cherished you since you were little, handling you with such care as if you’d break at the slightest touch. You treated that bitch like a friend, but she judged you with her own petty, scheming mind! Why would you try to kill yourself over a bitch like that? My poor, foolish daughter, blinded by that vixen... I almost lost you forever."
Vivian also began to cry. "Mom, I’m so sorry. I made you and Dad worry. It’s all my fault. I’m a grown woman, and I still put you through this. I just wasn’t thinking clearly... I was overwhelmed and wasn’t in my right mind. I’ll never be so reckless again... Please, forgive me..."
"CLAP—CLAP—"
The sound of applause suddenly came from the doorway.
"What a masterful performance. You two should go into show business.
Attempting suicide over ’a bitch like me’? Being ’blinded by a vixen’? Mrs. Yates, those are some pretty serious accusations you’re throwing around!"
Everyone in the room turned at once to stare at the stone-faced Annabelle.
Mrs. Yates was the first to recover. She glared at Annabelle through her tears and shrieked, "What are you doing here, you bitch? Are you here to gloat? Get out! Get the hell out of here! I don’t want to see you! None of us want to see you!"
"You’re right. To me, she is a joke!"
Annabelle stared mercilessly at the tear-streaked beauty on the bed, a cold smirk touching her lips. "In this world, isn’t everyone fighting just to stay alive? And yet she’s the one actively seeking death. Since she’s so set on it, you might as well let her die. After the first time, there will always be a second and a third. You can’t wake someone who’s only pretending to sleep, and you can’t save someone who truly wants to die. If she wants to die, you should just grant her wish. It would save everyone the trouble, and it would save me some disappointment, too."
With that, she turned her gaze to Vivian on the bed. "Aren’t you supposed to be a devoted daughter? Then stop making your parents worry. If you want to die, just hurry up and do it. Don’t let a situation arise where you’re still alive, but you’ve already driven your elderly parents to their graves with all this drama."
Annabelle’s words were unbelievably vicious. In just a few sentences, she had managed to curse the entire Yates family, from one generation to the next.
Hearing this, Vivian covered her face and broke into heart-wrenching sobs, as if she were too ashamed to face the world.
