Rest in a Demon's Embrace [BL]-Chapter 186
186 Time and Maturity
Luo Xiao’s eyes were brought back to the stage as the auctioneer called for the end of the bidding. The Crystalized Moonlight ended up as the absolute highlight of the auction, and the entire evening ended with an extreme buzz of emotions that were hard to contain.
“So, what do we do now?”
Looking at the people who were slowly starting to stand up and prepare for their departure caused the young man to feel a little lost.
He had not understood many of the practical details concerning the auction, and he did not know if they were supposed to return to the palace, or if they should wait and gather their money after the guests had exchanged for their items.
“We can go out and experience the festival for some time. If we want to, we can stay there until the auction house has completed all the formalities involved, and if we do not, we can always return to take back the wealth tomorrow.
“However, we have to wait for some time. The items we put up for auction were special, and there was a large number of treasures as well. Each person will need to solve their own successful bidding, and it will likely take some hours to go through the entire list.” 𝐟𝚛e𝐞𝙬𝗲𝒃𝓷𝒐𝘃e𝒍.c𝑜m
Luo Xiao cocked his head to the side and pondered their options. “Why don’t we go to the festival for now, and then, if the auction house has not completed the required procedures by the time we get bored, then we will simply pick up our pay tomorrow?”
Although Jiang Yao had left the decision to Luo Xiao, the younger man still wanted the two of them to agree on what to do.
He knew very well that the demon prince was not going to care about such small details as what to do, but he still wanted to ask out of respect.

To him, Jiang Yao and himself were a couple. A relationship was not something that could be kept alive by one party struggling to do so, it required the two of them to work together.
Basic respect and trust was also a great importance of such relationships, and it did not matter if Jiang Yao had any strong opinions, as long as he had the chance to say what he felt, it was enough.
“Let’s go experience a true festival then. I have actually never walked down these bustling streets when the festive atmosphere has been surrounding me.”
Although he knew that the one who would enjoy this festival the most was Luo Xiao, Jiang Yao still had to admit that he felt anticipation grow in his heart as he looked forward to their date.
This festival was not simple. The square outside the auction house alone was enough to contain thousands of small stands, and there were so many people who had come to participate that even the alleys and streets leading away from the square had been occupied.
Many of the experts and commoners who had wanted to enter the auction, but did not have the needed background or wealth, were all waiting outside and enjoying the many delicacies and entertainment methods offered in the various stalls.
These curious people were all eager to know about the treasures and their final prices as the biddings ended. The auction house had also prepared a few errand boys to stand at strategically suitable locations to call out the results, causing the already hyped atmosphere to become even more boiling.
Everyone was excited and happy. Although these items did not end up belonging to any of the curious guests outside, they already knew that the bidders were in a league far above their own reach, so they were not jealous.
The higher prices these items fetched, the more excited the audience became, and the crowd outside were entering a frenzy, and the many stalls were benefiting from their good mood as the sales increased with each bid.
This atmosphere was what Luo Xiao and Jiang Yao encountered as they left the auction house. They found that the outside was bustling, and that the excitement was soaring.
Many of the more humble guests had already been dragged aside by a group of enthusiastic citizens that kept asking questions about the environment inside, and these guests were all eager to share this once in a lifetime experience.
Some also rushed to their side upon seeing them exit the building, but upon closer inspection, the intimidating aura surrounding Jiang Yao made all of them back down.
This innate air-conditioner was perfect for the two of them as they began strolling down the temporary makeshift streets that had appeared on the square as the stalls had been erected.
“Look, this resembles the spiritual oranges we had back when we first traveled together.”
Luo Xiao was eagerly watching all the stalls, and he soon recognized the oranges that he had tasted before. Back then, he had been unaware of many things, but when he looked at these fruits, he could not help but feel a strange happiness and maturity.
Although the journey was never planned to happen, the time back then felt like a lifetime away. Luo Xiao could not help but smile slightly as he began remembering the many memories from their journey and his heart was full of happiness and sweetness.
Even back then, when he did not understand much, Jiang Yao never hid his true feelings, but it was he, who was as blind as a mole, did not understand his intentions completely.
It had not been long since then, but he had matured much more during this time than he did in all those years he spent in a bed back at Jinwei Village.
