Return of the Immortal Emperor Daddy-Chapter 234 The South Honors Him (1/5)
Watt was on the ground, begging like a dog.
To Wu Tian, even killing the man would have dirtied his hands. Kicking him to death felt like it would soil his shoes, which only cost a few dozen dollars.
"Let me," the Arrow King said as he stepped forward. Of all people, he detested those like Watt the most.
Wu Tian nodded.
The Arrow King drew his bow.
"No, please! I'm willing to be a dog! I won't be a strategist anymore!" Watt cried out in fright.
But the Arrow King's deadly arrow had already pierced his throat.
Watt collapsed to the ground, dead.
Wu Tian said indifferently, "Clean up the street."
With that, Wu Tian turned and left.
Cui Chong and the other Family Heads exchanged glances. They were the bosses of various companies in Peng City, and now they were supposed to clean the streets?
But not one of them dared to complain.
It took more than two hours to clean the street completely. In a single night, a force of over two hundred men—strong enough to sweep through all of Peng City—had vanished without a trace.
The image of Wu Tian's departing back was seared into everyone's minds. His figure alone was enough to look down upon all life in the South.
Even Cui Chong of the Qinghe Cui Clan couldn't help but lament, "From now on, he shall be revered above all others in the South."
「Meanwhile...」
In Yang City, Murong Yezi had just returned from the vet. The bulldog, which resembled a Little Kirin, had suddenly collapsed and wouldn't move.
Murong Yezi had tried to take the egg he was carrying on his back so she could bring him to the vet, but he refused to let her. So, she had no choice but to bring both the egg and the dog to the clinic together.
However, the veterinarian examining Little Kirin suddenly flew into a frenzy.
"Oh my God! This isn't a dog! This is definitely not a dog!"
"What on earth is this thing?"
"Have I just discovered a new species?"
As the veterinarian ran off in a panic, Murong Yezi quietly took Little Kirin and slipped away.
A new species? Isn't he just a dog?
Murong Yezi, afraid the quack would harm Little Kirin, could only take him home for now and figure something out the next day.
But just as she opened her front door, Little Kirin suddenly sensed something. He leaped from Murong Yezi's arms and glared angrily into the darkened house.
"What's wrong?" Murong Yezi froze. A thought then occurred to her, and she looked grimly into the room. As a military veteran herself, Little Kirin's current posture immediately made her suspect that someone was in her house.
Sure enough, just then, three men with dyed yellow and red hair burst out of the dark room.
"Well now, look at this fine mature woman."
"Give us a million, and we might not have to dishonor you."
"If you don't have it, then you'll just have to keep us three brothers company."
What? Their words infuriated Murong Yezi. She had never expected someone to be so brazen. This was the first time she had ever encountered such a situation.
They're courting death! Little Kirin was enraged. In his eyes, Wu Tian was his father, which of course made Murong Yezi his grandmother. These people dared to anger his grandmother? They cannot be allowed to live!
Just as Little Kirin was about to breathe fire, a figure suddenly leaped forward, declaring righteously, "You shameless scoundrels! To think you would act so brazenly before the aunt of me, Murong Ziqi? You're courting death!"
Aunt?
Hearing this, Murong Yezi's thoughts turned to the Murong Family. Her brother should be the head of the family now. Back when she was forced out of the Murong Family, her brother, Murong Guangfu, already had an infant son in his cradle: Murong Ziqi.
Ziqi... the purple qi, a sign of an emperor. The Murong Family has aspired to restore their dynasty for generations. This generation is no exception.
When the three thugs saw Murong Ziqi, they were startled.
"You're the Sword Emperor's disciple, Murong Ziqi?"
"The new seventh member of the Seven Saints of Dragon Country?"
"The most dazzling genius of Dragon Country's younger generation?"
The three thugs began to tremble with fear.
Murong Yezi frowned slightly. They looked like common petty thieves, so how did they know all this? She glanced at Murong Ziqi's back, a flicker of suspicion in her eyes.
Murong Ziqi shook his head and said calmly, "My accomplishments don't end there.
"I made my debut at seven and roamed across Europe. For three years, I hunted a drug lord who trafficked opium and other narcotics, finally slaying him with my sword.
"At ten, I returned to Dragon Country and was undefeated in the military. Three years later, I earned my title.
"At seventeen, I annihilated a mercenary group from Arthur Country that had infiltrated Dragon Country, which earned me an audience with the head of state.
"Not long ago, I was accepted as a disciple by the Sword Emperor. And at the age of twenty-two—remember this—I became the youngest of the Seven Saints of Dragon Country in history."
Murong Yezi was shocked. My nephew is actually this formidable? It has been a very long time since the Murong Family has produced such a figure.
"Run!" The three thugs exchanged a look, then scattered in different directions, no longer daring to act arrogantly in front of Murong Ziqi.
Seeing this, Murong Ziqi snorted. "You want to run after offending my Murong Family? In your dreams."
The Ziwei Soft Sword slithered from his waist like a venomous dragon emerging from its lair. The Sword Light was so brilliant that no one dared to look at it directly. His blade was as fast as lightning.
SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!
Three strikes drew three sprays of blood.
The three thugs stared at Murong Ziqi in disbelief. Their faces were contorted with anger, as if there was some grievance they were desperate to voice. But as their bodies collapsed, no words could escape their lips. A single sword mark was etched across each of their necks.
With a flick, the Ziwei Soft Sword coiled back around Murong Ziqi's waist like a belt.
Murong Ziqi then turned around, looked at Murong Yezi with concern, and asked, "Aunt, did I frighten you?"
"No." Murong Yezi felt none of the joy of a family reunion, merely shaking her head with an air of indifference.
Seeing her reaction, Murong Ziqi sighed and said apologetically, "Aunt, my father, grandfather, and the others all realize they were wrong now. They shouldn't have driven you away back then. I came this time hoping to resolve the grievances between you. Your birthday is in three days, isn't it? Grandfather and Father will be coming as well."
Murong Yezi's expression was complicated; she didn't know what to do. When she was first driven from the family, she dreamed of returning to her parents' side. That was why she'd worked so hard, joining the military in hopes of achieving something that would make them proud. But in the military, she met the man they called the "War God." Then came Wu Tian, and with him, her own family. Now, with a daughter-in-law and even a granddaughter, her feelings for the Murong Family had long since faded.
Murong Ziqi, however, assumed she was eager to return to the family. He smiled and began, "Aunt, I've just arrived in Yang City and haven't found a place to stay yet. Could I possibly..."
But Murong Yezi cut him off immediately. "No. I see you're quite accomplished; finding a place to stay should be a trivial matter for you. That's all. I'm tired and need to rest."
With those words, Murong Yezi took Little Kirin into the house and shut the door.
Murong Ziqi was left speechless.
