Return With the Billionaire Baby Daddy-Chapter 111: nothing could stop Damian
Darius looked at Valerie with astonishment, as if he didn’t expect her to still come even though he had warned her.
"Valerie..." Damian gazed at Valerie sadly.
Feeling sick and displeased by their togetherness, Darius chose to leave the room immediately, followed by Elena after handing Daniel to Valerie.
Valerie fell silent watching them hurriedly leave, feeling offended, like a parasite, yet she couldn’t distance herself from Damian either.
"Sweetheart, come here," Damian pleaded.
Valerie approached quickly, and in an instant, Damian grabbed her left hand and held it tightly.
"I’m glad you and he are okay... I can’t imagine my life without you both, I can’t imagine what Samuel would do to you," Damian said anxiously. "He’s truly insane..."
Valerie remained silent, gazing at Damian while recalling Karina.
"I’m sorry for being late... And I should have never been careless... I should have protected you both since realizing how evil Samuel was to us," Damian said again.
"You don’t need to apologize... I know you have other priorities," Valerie replied, pulling her hand away with a disappointed look.
Damian furrowed his brow. "What do you mean?"
Valerie sighed, then settled Daniel on the edge of the bed, and sat down on a chair, looking tired and confused.
"Baby, tell me," Damian urged.
"Karina," Valerie whispered. "You prioritize her over us because she’s sick, she’s dying," she continued. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
Damian was stunned, not expecting Valerie to know that.
"Now I understand why you often don’t have time to be with us... You’re busy with her, taking care of her," Valerie said, then looked down sadly.
"Darling, it’s not like that..." Damian shook his head.
"Then what?" Valerie asked, her eyes welling up with tears. "You prioritize yourself for her... now I understand why you can’t marry me because you care about her... You seem more deserving to be with her because she doesn’t cause you any trouble, she loves you, and your families..."
"I don’t prioritize her," Damian interrupted Valerie. "I do care about her, but that doesn’t mean I’ll divert my attention from you or ruin my first plans," he continued with a serious look.
Valerie remained silent, looking down sadly, while Daniel slowly lay down beside Damian.
"Even before I found you, I had made a decision," Damian said again.
"What?"
"I’m going to marry you... As soon as possible."
Valerie looked at Damian, furrowing her brow.
"We will marry with or without my father’s approval, and I don’t care about Karina’s response or her family’s... I won’t care about their feelings anymore because I’ll only care about myself and you both," Damian stated firmly. "I don’t think there’s any need to delay anymore..."
"You can’t do that..." Valerie shook her head.
"I can!" Damian hissed.
"Then what about Karina? What if her condition worsens if she doesn’t accept your decision?"
"And who is she to me?" Damian raised his eyebrows. "Why should I care about her loving me or expecting me? I just want you!"
"But she’s sick..."
"She has parents... She has a family who will take care of her," Damian said curtly. "I’ve felt deceived all this time for caring too much about her so her family always takes advantage of me... I can’t continue like this... I refuse to be their slave... I have other priorities and that’s you! You... My patience has run out... I don’t want to degrade myself for them anymore!" he continued firmly, then held Valerie’s hand tightly again.
"Please, accept my decision... Let’s get married and live together. If this place isn’t comfortable for us, then we’ll go far away... Don’t reject me again because it doesn’t feel safe if we’re not together... I don’t want what happened today to happen again!" Damian reiterated.
Valerie still looked worried.
"Baby... Please, never postpone our togetherness again, I want us to get married," Damian pleaded. "Isn’t our suffering enough? We always fail to be together because of others... If you don’t pity me, at least pity our son." He glanced at Daniel, who was sleeping.
Valerie wiped her tears, which fell freely as she looked at Daniel sleeping with his face looking so tired and worn out, only wearing a t-shirt and superhero-themed underwear.
"He’s suffered enough because of us because we’ve been too concerned about their interests," Damian said again, stroking Daniel’s slightly sweaty hair. "I want to sleep with him every night, spend every moment with him... Reading bedtime stories... Playing, everything... Doing many things with him and also you... If we don’t start now, then when? Should we postpone it again?" He wondered, tears flowing freely, seeming fed up with the situation.
Valerie quickly wiped Damian’s tears away. "Sorry... Please don’t cry..."
"I don’t want any distance between us anymore," Damian whispered.
"No..." Valerie shook her head. "There won’t be any distance between us anymore. We can get married whenever you want..."
"Really?"
"Yes..."
Damian immediately took Valerie’s hand and kissed it. "Thank you, baby... I promise as soon as I come back from here, I will prepare for our wedding."
"Should it be a lavish wedding?" Valerie asked, feeling hesitant considering our previous attempt at a lavish wedding failed. "I don’t want you to spend a lot of money again just to marry me," she continued anxiously.
"It’s okay... It’s my money, and I want to use it to celebrate our postponed happiness... I want people to know that we will become husband and wife even though we failed before," Damian replied enthusiastically. "You don’t need to worry about it... I’ll take care of everything... Just imagine how happy Daniel will be as the ring bearer on our wedding day," he continued with a smile.
Valerie chuckled, glancing at Daniel.
"He’ll look so handsome wearing a mini black and white suit, a bow tie... he’ll walk down the aisle to us... Bearing our wedding rings," Damian said again, starting to fantasize.
"It will be so beautiful," Valerie replied.
Damian smiled warmly, stroking the back palm of Valerie’s hand with his thumb.
"And you’ll look so beautiful in the wedding dress I bought for you," he said.
"Do you still have it?" Valerie asked.
"My mother has it."
"Really?"
Damian raised his eyebrows.
"The rings, the dress, the heels, evening gown, jewelry, my suit... everything is still there. And maybe the wedding will be held at the same hotel... We will realize the happy day we dreamed of before there," he said calmly. "I will ask the wedding organizer to decorate everything like before," he continued.
Valerie smiled and couldn’t say anything more to express her happiness other than immediately bowing down and kissing Damian’s lips.
