Return With the Billionaire Baby Daddy-Chapter 163: Tristan’s anger at Karina
Karina had just arrived at the apartment when she found Tristan leaving the room with his suitcase.
"I can’t continue living with someone who doesn’t truly want me," Tristan said with a flat gaze.
Karina sighed, no longer angry but showing sadness on her face. She didn’t hold onto her husband, instead, she walked to the sofa and sat down, throwing her bag.
She remained silent, brushing her hair back and leaning back, but slowly started crying.
"You don’t understand me," she said.
"How can I understand you, Karina?" Tristan asked angrily, throwing his suitcase in a random direction and approaching Karina. "You’ve always had the chance to be better, to earn trust... but what have you done?" he looked at his wife in disbelief, his breath even congested.
Karina remained silent, occasionally wiping her tears.
"I never imagined that you were the one who instructed Daniel’s nanny to harm Valerie... I was relieved that you didn’t succeed... But that doesn’t mean anything because another victim was Hannah, she even lost her baby!" Tristan exclaimed again, then turned away from Karina and ran his hands through his hair. "Now... Now I don’t know... I don’t know how to save you from the law. What you did is unforgivable!"
Karina bowed her head.
"But you only create new problems..." Tristan looked back at Karina. "Why... Why would you want to harm Fanny? What’s your plan? What’s your plan after this?"
"I just want to save myself," Karina whispered through her tears. "After I failed to harm Valerie, and seeing her getting closer to Damian... I felt defeated, I didn’t want to fight to ruin their relationship. I realize what I did was very fatal... But I don’t want to go to jail, I don’t want you to hate me... And the only way to escape the accusations is to make Fanny die... So she won’t say that I instructed her to harm Valerie, so I’ll stay safe," she continued, occasionally wiping her tears.
Tristan sighed, looking at Karina who seemed regretful.
"But now everything has failed... Fanny will tell Damian when she wakes up... Or even you, because you’re disappointed in me," Karina said again.
Tristan remained silent, sitting on another sofa with a blank stare, feeling confused and disappointed. He wanted to expose all of this to Damian, but in any case, Karina was carrying his child, and he was already considering focusing on that.
"I don’t know how to stop obsessing over Damian... I don’t intend to have him, but I don’t like seeing him happy while he discarded me like trash," Karina said again. "I can’t forget how he agreed to marry me but then chose Valerie... I can’t forget that."
"You stupid!" Tristan replied harshly.
Karina immediately bowed her head.
"Now what do you want? I can’t help you cover up your crimes..."
"Are you going to tell Damian?" Karina asked anxiously.
Tristan remained silent, turning his face away.
"Please... don’t tell him. I promise I won’t commit crimes again..." Karina pleaded. "And don’t leave me... I know you’re the best for me."
"You say that because you’ve given up... That’s not what I want..." Tristan turned his face away. "You do stupid things like this without thinking that failure could come back to haunt you as before and ultimately embarrass you, get you in trouble... I don’t understand why the apologies from Damian and Valerie didn’t make you grateful enough for your freedom all this time. You’re very embarrassed... I’m so ashamed of your behavior!"
Karina fell silent, hiding her face.
"Oh my God..." Tristan rubbed his forehead, bowing down, realizing his elbow was resting on his thigh. ’What should I do now... Should I continue to stay with her? But what if I leave her? Should I cover all of this up and let it unravel as it should without me exposing it? I can’t let her go to jail while she’s carrying my child...’
"Are you going to leave me?"
That question diverted Tristan’s attention again.
"Now what will you do if I stay with you?" he asked.
Karina bowed her head and said, "I’ll be a good wife... I won’t try to harm Valerie or Damian."
"And what if Fanny wakes up? Are you ready to go to jail if she says you instructed her to harm Valerie?"
Karina shook her head.
"But I can’t help you make her die so she can’t testify about what happened," Tristan said, positioning himself to face Karina with a serious look. "I’ll give you a chance... But don’t waste it because I could expose your crimes like I did when you framed Damian."
Karina continued to bow her head but felt very upset because now Tristan seemed to control her.
"Remember, I’m doing this for your good and the good of our child. I can’t imagine him being born in prison," Tristan said again.
Karina nodded and dared to look at Tristan. "What if Fanny suddenly wakes up and... and tells everything."
Tristan bit his lower lip, seeming confused to find that answer.
"She won’t stay silent... Maybe Damian will urge her to be honest because if she’s not honest, she’ll go to jail. She won’t want to go to jail," Karina said again, fear evident in her eyes.
"The only way is for you to confess before they are told by Fanny," Tristan replied anxiously.
Karina immediately shook her head. "No, I dare not do that. It’s suicide! Damian is vengeful... He’ll make me rot in jail."
"But he could forgive Samuel even though Samuel made it difficult for him to marry Valerie..."
"Okay, maybe he’ll forgive me but Hannah won’t! Hannah is the real victim because she lost her baby... She won’t accept it and will hate me so much and then imprison me when she knows that I’m the perpetrator, I’m the mastermind behind all of Fanny’s actions!"
Tristan sighed, back in anxiety, unable to deny that what Karina said made sense.
"Oh God, what should I do now?" Karina asked, brushing her hair aside, tears falling again. "I know I’m wrong... I’m stupid, I’m crazy because of my obsession! I didn’t think about the consequences... But I don’t want to go to jail!" She took a pillow and hugged it, crying bitterly.
Tristan glanced at Karina, feeling sorry for her fear, making him unable to bear it and feeling like he had to find a solution to save her.
"Maybe I’ll meet Hannah," he said.
Karina immediately lifted her head and looked at Tristan. "What?"
"Let’s meet Hannah... Let’s apologize... I’ll be the guarantee," Tristan explained, doubt evident on his face. "But please, this time don’t make my sacrifice in vain. I’ll risk my dignity for your freedom... So don’t mess things up again by trying to ruin someone’s life or whatever it is..."
"What if Hannah doesn’t forgive me and decides to imprison me?"
"No, she won’t do it... Besides, why punish you if I’ve already said you won’t commit crimes again?" Tristan asked, raising his eyebrows. "Hannah and Valerie are good women... They wouldn’t hurt another woman, especially one who is pregnant... She won’t let you be punished..."
"But... But what if Samuel gets angry? He’s the baby’s father!" Karina asked again.
Tristan furrowed his brow. "Why do you always ask like that? It’s as if you don’t believe I can save you!" he asked irritably, then stood up.
Karina fell silent with fear.
"I’ve tried everything to make you happy... But you never believe me? Until you do crazy things! Why don’t you try to trust me this time? Just follow my advice... You’ll be safe!" Tristan asserted, his emotions almost exploding, his eyes glaring at the frightened Karina.
