In the spacious, white-themed room with modern furniture and a variety of toys in the cabinet, it seemed like a play paradise. Daniel sat on a small car, and Damian on a single sofa, controlling the car with a remote control, making Daniel laugh happily.

"Yay, I’m a racer!" exclaimed Damian.

"A racer... I’m a racer!" cheered Daniel with his cute voice, looking fresh and not even wearing a compress anymore.

"You are so adorable!" He put down the remote control and immediately embraced Daniel, kissing his neck and chest fondly.

Daniel giggled, holding Damian’s hair as he tousled it.

"Dada...!"

Damian raised his head, looking at Daniel with affection.

"Kiss me," he said.

Daniel quickly embraced Damian’s cheeks and kissed his lips gently.

Damian smiled happily, once again asking for the kiss until suddenly his attention was drawn to the newly opened door.

"Valerie," he said, noticing Valerie standing at the doorway.

"I’ll take him home," replied Valerie with a flat expression.

"I still miss him, still want to play with him..."

"He can rest here..."

Valerie approached them. "Please, I have to take him home. I don’t want to keep Samuel waiting too long."

Damian sighed as if trying to restrain his emotions. "He’s here?"

Valerie just nodded, raising her eyebrows.

Damian smirked faintly. "How could you do this... You want to hurt me by bringing your boyfriend here. This is insane...."

Damian’s gaze focused on Valerie’s ring finger, now adorned with a ring she didn’t have before.

"Is that ring from Samuel?" Damian inquired.

Valerie looked down, glancing at her ring as if in thought.

"Tell me!" Damian demanded, gritting his teeth.

"Yes!" Valerie looked back at Damian with determined eyes. "It’s from him... we’re engaged." She explained confidently as if wanting Damian to know that she no longer desired him.

Damian was stunned, seemingly unable to find words.

"I’m not afraid of your threats. Samuel and I won’t stop you from meeting Daniel, but his custody will be determined by me if you bring this matter to legal grounds," Valerie said, then swallowed, seeing Damian’s face hurt so much that she quickly took Daniel from him. "We have to go now..."

Damian remained speechless, letting Valerie take Daniel from him.

"Dada...!" Daniel looked at his father with pity.

"We have to go, Sweetie..." Valerie smiled.

Daniel held onto Valerie. "I want to be with Dada..."

Valerie fell silent, looking into Daniel’s eyes as if understanding that he wanted them, Daniel and Damian, to be together, playing and caring for him like other kids.

"I want Mama and Dada," Daniel whispered with his trembling lips.

"I can’t..." Damian heaved a choked breath, his eyes even reddening. "I can’t bear to see this!" He quickly left, meeting his mother near the door but paying no attention to her.

"Dada...!" Daniel started crying, and so did Valerie, but she quickly wiped her tears and embraced him. ’No, I have to be strong. I decided to be with Samuel, which means I won’t be with Damian again. He’s just a problem for me, and his father doesn’t like me!’ she tried to convince herself, then turned around and saw Elena approaching.

"What happened?" Elena asked. "Did you guys fight?"

"No... It’s just usual." Valerie said, comforting the crying and squirming Daniel. "We have to go now."

"Valerie, maybe he still wants to be with Daniel, maybe Daniel still likes it here. Look, he instantly recovered, then happy... but now he’s crying again..."

"Don’t interfere with my life again!" Valerie exclaimed. "We only meet and talk for Daniel. Otherwise, you have no right to interfere in material or romantic aspects of our lives. Enough of your mischief!"

Damian took a deep breath, remaining silent as if unable to accept Valerie’s attitude.

"Dada..." Daniel called with quivering lips and teary eyes.

Damian quickly averted his gaze and left immediately, as if unable to face this bitter reality. He entered his car, then drove it at high speed towards the gate, making the security guard run to open it.

Valerie hurriedly approached the battered Samuel. "Samuel..."

"It’s Okay..." Samuel grimaced as if in pain.

"We should go to the hospital..."

"No... I’ll drive you home."

"But your nose is bleeding... I’m worried there might be internal injuries..."

"It’s fine..." Samuel immediately embraced Valerie from the side. "It’s better if you treat me... I’ll be more comfortable resting at your place."
