Return With the Billionaire Baby Daddy-Chapter 31: Understand her own feelings
"Can’t you explain?" Adriana asked curtly.
"I am indeed at fault," Valerie murmured, her face turned away.
"In that case, don’t make the mistake again by accepting Samuel. It’s like you’re truly challenging Damian and his family... You both have faults... You shouldn’t keep hurting each other constantly," Adriana sighed. "I’m just thinking about Daniel. You can marry someone other than Damian or Samuel if you want to try your luck... But now is not the right time... focus on Daniel, don’t rob him of his happiness... Let him play with Damian as much as he wants, learn without intending to take him away from you, right?"
"Father," Valerie said shortly, with concern.
"What?" Adriana squinted.
"Her father always thinks that I’m using Daniel to get close to Damian again. He wants me to decide whether to get back with Damian or not at all," Valerie explained slowly, as if hesitant to say this. "I can’t make that decision yet, but he’s forcing me, so I chose not to go back to Damian because I still don’t trust him. Finally, he considered it my final decision, and that means I have to stay away from him from now on. I tried, but he always accuses me of using Daniel to keep meeting him..."
"Do you care about what he says?"
"Of course... He could call me anytime. It makes me uncomfortable, that’s why I accepted Samuel so he knows I don’t want Damian anymore."
Adriana sighed heavily and then donated while focusing on Valerie.
"Then, do you still want him or not? Please answer honestly!"
Valerie remained silent, avoiding eye contact as if searching for the answer within herself.
"I know you still love him... And your recent decision to accept Samuel is a fatal mistake!" Adriana hissed with an angry look.
Valerie remained confused.
"You can’t even condition your feelings yet... If Damian comes for Daniel, it’s not your fault, and never mind his father’s threats. Instead of accepting Samuel, who will only add problems and increase Damian’s family’s hatred towards you, it’s better for you to focus on yourself now until you can decide to go back to Damian or stay single until you find a man much better than him or Samuel... You need to sort out your feelings!" Adriana returned with her advice, pointing at Valerie’s chest.
Valerie took a deep breath, her body trembling, and her heart pounding. Her eyes, reddened, stared at Adriana, who had been sweet to her for several days.
"I didn’t mean to scare you," Adriana said, realizing Valerie’s fear.
Valerie just nodded.
Adriana immediately hugged her.
Valerie cried, as if unable to hold back her sadness any longer.
"I know this is not easy for you, but believe me, I will help you... I can help you out of this mess without involving Samuel," Adriana said anxiously, stroking Valerie’s back.
"I’m confused, I have no direction," Valerie replied in her tears, suddenly imagining Damian’s disappointed face. "Sometimes I feel wrong about Damian, but I also hate him. I can’t accept him, and every time his father treats me badly, mocks me, I immediately want to show that I don’t want him anymore... That’s why I accepted Samuel."
Adriana released her hug, looked at Valerie who was crying, then brushed aside her hair covering her cheeks.
"I know you are still filled with pain and resentment, trauma... But you also can’t sacrifice yourself by pretending to be interested in Samuel. It will only make you stressed, add a new burden... You will only be tired of keeping his feelings, you don’t want him to be disappointed without considering that you are also disappointed," she said patiently. "Isn’t it better to stay single until you really find a man who can make you fall in love?" she asked.
Valerie nodded.
"I hope it’s Damian." Adriana smiled.
"He will hate me..." Valerie looked down, looking at Samuel’s ring. "I can’t immediately tell Samuel about this decision. He’s already happy... I mean... I don’t want to disappoint him right away... I would be very cruel." She looked back at Adriana.
"Hmm, but it would be far more painful if you make him happy today, then crush his heart tomorrow. There’s no difference..." Adriana approached Daniel.
Valerie fell silent, as if confused about whether to tell Samuel now or not.
On the terrace of an apartment, Damian sat on the sofa, looking at the beautiful sunset sky, taking him into the shadow of his fondest memories with Valerie.
"I don’t know what to do now," he said.
"Just let go... If she doesn’t want you anymore, don’t keep chasing her," his friend, Lucas, said.
Damian glanced at Lucas, who looked handsome in a blue suit and white jacket, but in Damian’s mind, it was Valerie.
"If I stop pursuing her, then what’s the purpose of my life?" he asked.
"Of course, to find true love... You have to keep trying to find a woman who can appreciate your love!" Lucas exclaimed, raising his eyebrows.
"I have no idea in my head about that girl... My mind is filled with Valerie," Damian replied, then took a puff of his black cigarette. "I don’t know... I just always imagine a happy life with her and our son... That’s it. No other desires."
"But she doesn’t want you... realize, you’ve been rejected."
"And she rejected me because of Samuel. I can’t accept that..." Damian shook his head. "She’s cunning... a dangerous woman."
The ringing of his phone in his jacket pocket, Damian quickly picked it up and saw an incoming call from an unknown number.
"Hello?"
"Damian... We should get back together... You still love me. I can be the best for you, I can even give you a child, like your son... I beg you!" a girl said from the phone.
Damian immediately frowned and threw his phone over the separating fence.
"Hey!" Lucas stood up immediately, rushed to the separating fence, and crouched down, trying to find Damian’s phone, which turned out to fall and hit the ground, shattering into pieces. He turned back, approached Damian, who looked emotional.
"Bro, you’re crazy! If your phone hits someone’s head and they get hurt or even die, you can be sued!" he exclaimed.
Damian just stayed silent, turning his gaze away.
"I don’t know what you’re thinking..." Lucas sat back down. "If she only makes you more stressed, then stop expecting to be with her!"
"It’s not easy; I’m not just thinking about her but my son!" Damian exclaimed with frustration.
"Then who called you? Why did you get emotional right away?"
"Angela," Damian replied shortly.
"Bro..." Lucas patted Damian’s shoulder. "Accept the girl who’s chasing you, not the one who doesn’t appreciate you. I know Valerie well, but what she did to you makes her not worth fighting for anymore. She will only keep hurting you; she has no feelings. She doesn’t even care about her family... How could she care about you? If you don’t want your son to become Samuel’s stepchild, then just take him. You can use your money!"
Damian was just silent with his brows furrowed, suffering visible on his face, his mind filled with images of Daniel who was so sad when he was separated from him. Hmm, is he just going to take Daniel without wanting to fight for Valerie..
