Revenge Deal With The Devil-Chapter 160: DUANE’S DEATH
"Where is Giselle?" Amelia asked, knowing her teacher’s stubborn behaviour, it would have been quite difficult for her to consent to sit down in a place and stay put.
"She’s fine, I told her my reasons." Leviton explained simply while shrugging, Amelia squinted her eyes like she was trying to see through him but in the end gave up because the man’s cold face was too hard to break through.
"Maybe I should go check on her." Amelia said with worry in her voice as she proceeded to leave but was dragged back by Leviton, "Don’t, you would make her change her decision." He said.
Amelia sighed, she knew which angle Leviton was coming from but still she was worried that Giselle might do something stupid in the end.
"Mother, Uncle Leviton says she is fine then she is fine, she is carrying his child remember." Adara finally spoke, putting Amelia’s mind at ease. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
"Then we should go now." Adara added seeing that Amelia had already relaxed.
Amelia turned and nodded, since she was a bit weak, they had to rely on Leviton to teleport them to Duane’s house.
"Uncle Duane!" Adara called out with worry seeing that the place had already been ransacked and everywhere was scattered.
"Mika!!" Amelia hurriedly called for her sister while Leviton stood at the center of everything with a clenched fists, Adara was right, this was a family feud, there was no now Max would not drag Duane into this especially since Duane was on Damon’s side after he found out the truth about the human family, so either ways if they had not come to Duane, Max would have still come look for him.
"Cousin!" Adara rushed over to her cousin as soon as she spotted him under the rumbles.
"Mike are you okay?" She asked with worry pulling him out of there, "I’m fine, I’m a vamp remember? Small crumbles can’t kill me." Mike smiles as blood trailed down from the corner of his mouth.
"What a relief!" Adara exclaimed pulling him into a hug.
"Ouch, the injuries has not completely healed you know." He laughed out loud, "Where is uncle?" Adara asked not sensing her other relatives.
"Father is in his study." Mike replied feeling worn out.
"Stay strong." Adar comforted hugging him one last time before standing up, a figure outside watched this scene with his eyes blazing with fury that he could barely control it.
His eyes were red and blood lust seemed out of him, after a while he closed his eyes calming himself down before turning around and leaving.
When Adara stood, Amelia went to attend to Mike healing him with the little healing spells she could remember.
Adara reached the study anxiously pushing open the door to see Duane laying on the table with a wooden stake in his chest, he was in obvious pains as he tried to pull it out.
Mika was laying on the ground with blood seeping out from her head, it was obvious that an object collided with her head knocking her unconcious.
"Uncle!" Adara cried out with tears dropping from her eyes, "Who did this to you?" She asked outstreching her shaky hands to touch the stake and when she came in contact with it, her tears poured out even more, it hurts to see the people she loved in so much pain.
"Forget about me, go help you aunt." Duane said anxiously as he pushed Adara’s hands away groaning in pain as he tried to stand up only to rest back again taking in deep and heavy breaths.
"Please, go help your aunt, even if I survive and she doesn’t I would not be able to forgive myself." Duane pleaded, Adara felt like her heart was tearing up, she rushed to Mika and laid her on the floor.
Using her healing spells on her whole occasionally glancing at Duane to see if his condition was still stable, Adara felt her eyes get clouded with tears as she felt guilt eating her up, it was all her fault, if that day she did not run away from Amelia she would not have met Asis and if she had not brought him home all these would not have happened.
There was no one else to blame but her, but before she wallows herself in self blame she would make sure to make Asis pay for all the pains he caused her family.
"Adara, your father.... Max." Duane said in a disoriented manner, "Uncle please don’t talk, try to save your strength, please." Adara pleaded with tears falling from her eyes, she wanted nothing more than her family to survive this.
"I don’t have much time left." Duane managed to say, with his gaze softening as soon as his eyes landed on Mika, "Tell your aunt to live well alright?" Duane said with a soft smile on his face.
"Uncle!!" Adara yelled but got no response, "Uncle you better wake up and tell her yourself or I will tell her to live as she like, to get married to another person." Adara added feeling perplexed whether she should leave Mika and go attend to Duane.
