Revenge Wears Red Lipstick-Chapter 128: Jail Break
"So you were planning on keeping it from me much longer?" She questioned, feeling rage bubble beneath her skin.
"I wanted to tell you everything," he said.
Eva scoffed at him.
"Look...I didn’t mean to do it. —" He stuttered, unable to find the right answer to her questions.
Dante pulled his hair in frustration, his scalp burning but he didn’t pay any mind to it.
The look that Eva was giving him was painful, it hurt his chest as if he’d been stabbed by a dagger.
"Eva..." He called softly, attempting to take a step towards her but she backed away quickly.
"Don’t you dare come close to me," she warned, her eyes burning with rage. "What about the weapons shipment and all the people you’ve killed? Did you also intend to tell me about that?"
For the past few months, a lot of people in politics have gone missing, right after the election.
They were known to suspect Mr. De Rossi’s actions and not once did they support him. Since Dante was the one to murdered James, it would only make sense that he was the one who killed everyone who questioned his father.
Dante nodded vehemently. "I did. I wanted to tell you that too." He attempted to take another step towards her and she took four backwards, only creating even more distance between them.
The distance was becoming too much now, and the fact that she was the one creating it made something shatter in him.
"Eva..." He called softly. "I’m really sorry," he apologized. "I know that you’re mad at me now, but I’ll make it up to you. I’ll prove that I only did those things because I had no choice. I..."
Dante wondered if he should tell Eva the truth. It was obvious she despised him so much now.
Even when they’d just met, she didn’t glare at him so hard as she did now. It felt as if she were handed a knife, she would stab him to death without holding back.
"Eva..." He walked towards her and with only five long strides, he managed to close the gap.
"Get away from me Dante," she warned, pointing a gun at him.
It was the gun she’d hidden in her dress because she’d predicted he would come see her, and she was right.
She cocked the gun, her eyes slit with rage.
"Take another step, and I won’t hesitate to pull the trigger," she warned.
Dante forced his saliva down her throat.
Instinctively, he backed away.
This hurt to see but there was nothing he could do.
"Are you really going to kill me?" He asked.
"I would if I wanted to, but I wouldn’t kill you in an open space like this," she responded, her index finger resting on the trigger. One small pull and she would shoot Dante.
She promised herself she was going to make him pay. She would make his life a living hell and kill both him and his father. But right now, she couldn’t bring herself to pull the trigger. Even if it was just shooting his legs, that would do but she still couldn’t do it.
This was it. After everything they’d been through together, after every promise. It was over.
"Let’s get a divorce," she said. "I already have the papers filed by a lawyer and am waiting for your signature."
"What?" He asked, confusion evident in his gaze.
"You don’t have to worry, I don’t want your money. All I need is your signature-."
Dante couldn’t believe his ears. He was going to lose Eva forever? Just like that? He was aware she was mad at him, but pointing a gun at him and suggesting they get a divorce were the things he never expected.
"No. We’re not getting a divorce," he said, and her scowl deepened. "You’re disappointed in me, but signing the divorce papers is something I’ll never do, no matter what you say. I’ll do everything and anything to make sure you forgive me, Eva," he promised.
Eva watched him take a few steps back, before he turned to leave.
Once he was out of sight, Eva’s hands dropped to her sides. She suddenly felt weak to the bones.
It still hurts. Her heart still yearned for him despite his betrayal. It hurts knowing she still loved that man, but her feelings are something she needed to work on if she wanted to be successful in taking down Dante and his father.
Dante got into his car, but didn’t leave. He needed to wait for her.
His car was parked a few meters away from the Eleoquise building, completely hidden in the dark.
It took almost an hour because he saw Eva getting into the car with her manager, Maxine, and then they drove away.
Immediately, he followed right behind them, he wasn’t going to let her get away from him so easily. To think she wanted a divorce from him.
He couldn’t help but scoff. He would rather be stabbed with a hot iron than lose her forever.
They arrived at her home which was just as big as their mansion in Lexora.
Dante watched Eva being welcomed by her parents as she entered the house, and the door shut right behind her.
"Just a little while longer," he said to himself, pinching his temples in frustration. "Just a little while longer."
Eva got into her room, slamming her body on the bed in exhaustion while staring at the ceiling.
She recalled when Dante hugged her. He had always been bigger than her, and stronger, but she could feel that he’d lost weight.
Did he lose weight thinking about her, or probably something else?
She couldn’t help but wonder.
Eva decided to stop thinking about Dante for the moment.
Mr. De Rossi was high in the seat now, which means getting rid of him is twice as difficult now and they really needed to up their game.
With a sigh, Eva closed her eyes to sleep for the night but a vibration from her phone forced her to open her eyes and check on it.
The content related to the post made her eyes immediately darken as she gritted her teeth.

"Be careful. You just gave birth, remember?" Mason asked as he helped bring the bag inside the house.
Jacob was wearing a smile on his lips as he held his little sister while his mother settled on the couch as she adjusted her sweater that hid her inmate uniform.
"Will you relax? I gave birth three months ago, and I’m completely healed. I just need to rest more especially after everything that happened today," she said, closing her eyes as she gave a loud relief.
"I’m sure your escape is already all over the internet now. You shouldn’t leave the house if I’m not around, do you hear me?" Mason asked, as he settled the bags on one corner of the living room.
Katherine nodded in understanding as she stretched her hand up and when she heard her bones crack, she moaned in satisfaction.
"It feels so good to finally be out of jail. I miss the world so much," she said. "Eva must miss me so much." An evil grin stretched on her lips when she mentioned that name.
"You won’t be doing that. You asked me to help you escape because I wanted us to be a complete family," said Mason. "We’re finally complete. So please, don’t do anything stupid. We have two children together now. For the past few months, I’ve managed to save up enough to leave this country. We can go to another country, where no one will recognize you and we can start all over again."
Katherine couldn’t help but scoff at the idea. "And I’ll let Eva get away with everything that she’s done to me? That woman ruined my life."
"Will you let it go already?!" Mason yelled, veins popping on his head.
He noticed Jacob flinching.
"Jacob, go to the room with your sister," he said.
Jacob didn’t need to be told twice and did what his father asked of him.
When he disappeared into one of the rooms, Mason turned to Katherine who was already fuming.
"I only asked you to help me escape because I needed to get my revenge on Eva for everything that she’d done to me," said Katherine. "Did you really think I would let that woman off the hook and have her enjoy her life?"
"But that’s no longer important. We can leave this country, you can forget everything she’d done to you, and we can finally move on from all of this, Katherine."
Katherine didn’t want to understand Mason. Her mind was already filled with revenge, and she wasn’t going to give up so easily.
After losing everything, including her money and status, she wasn’t going to let Eva have her fun.
"No," she shook her head. "Eva is going to get what’s coming for her and I’m going to make sure that happens."
