Revenge Wears Red Lipstick-Chapter 133: Divorced
"And why not?" Eva snapped. "I don’t know why you did this or what sort of drug you’re high on, but don’t you ever come close to me ever again, Dante!"
Dante stared at Eva, hurt evident in his gaze.
His calf still hurt after she’d heartlessly kicked him with her long pointy heels. It felt like he’d been stabbed.
He watched her get into her car and drive away. However, Dante didn’t want to back down so easily. He was aware that he’d gone too far, but he couldn’t endure watching Tyler stare at his wife so lovingly.
He got into his car and drove right behind her.
He may have made a mistake but he wasn’t letting Eva be all caring towards Tyler.
Arriving at the hospital, Eva quickly admitted Tyler.
Thankfully, Dante hadn’t completely damaged his nose but some fixing needed to be done.
Eva’s hands were trembling as she played with the hem of her dress anxiously.
No doubt, a scandal was going to be released tonight or tomorrow because of Dante’s careless actions.
She may already be a top model, but that didn’t mean that her career was immune to scandals. Wrong move and she was done. And Dante just had to come in at the wrong time.
She caught his figure from the corners of her eyes, striding towards her.
His large physique was endearing enough to grab the attention of the people that passed by, turning their heads to take one last look before disappearing into the other hall.
He looked pale, and from this distance, she could see he’d lost weight. He looked thinner than the last time she’d seen him.
"Eva..."
"You dare to come here. What part of do not come close to me do you not understand?" She questioned, raging filling her eyes.
Eva wasn’t sure of how powerful Tyler’s family background was, but she was definitely going to get sued tonight.
"I didn’t mean to," Dante said. "It was a mistake...I..."
"A mistake?" Eva couldn’t help but scoff.
"Mr. De Rossi, I’d advise you to step back now before I call the police," said Susan.
She wasn’t much invested in Eva and her past relationship, but after what Dante had done to Tyler, she didn’t need anyone telling her that Dante was bad news.
Dante scowled at her, eyes filled with rage that made all the hair on her body stand on end. She gulped down her saliva forcefully, but didn’t want to back off so easily.
Eva placed her hand on Susan’s shoulders and gave her an assuring smile.
"Dante, I think we should talk," she said.
His eyes instantly lit with hope as he followed right behind her, heading towards the exit of the hospital, straight to where his car was parked.
"Have you signed the divorce papers?" She questioned, impatience evident in her tone.
Immediately, all hope died in Dante’s eyes.
"I didn’t."
"Can you just make things easy for me and sign the divorce papers? Why do you have to make things so difficult?"
A divorce was the only way for her to legally stop bearing the last name of the man who killed her parents. To think she was still married to Dante made her skin crawl.
"I’m making things difficult? You served me divorce papers—"
"Because you betrayed me, Dante. Do I still need to narrate everything once again?" She demanded, a scorn evident in her face. "You know what you did to me. Why can’t you just let me be? What? Are you planning on shattering the remaining pieces of myself that I managed to pick up from the ground?"
Dante flinched, hurt evident on his face before it completely disappeared from his face.
"I only did what I did because—" His voice trailed off, unable to complete his sentence.
"Because what?" She yelled, this time hoping that Dante had a reasonable reason for betraying her. Whatever it was, she could still find it in herself to forgive him. "What else are you hiding from me, Dante?"
She waited, and waited but he didn’t respond.
Dante couldn’t tell her the truth yet. His father had been way too quiet the past week, and only he knew what he was planning.
Informing Eva about Rhea would only put both their lives in danger, and he couldn’t risk that.
"I knew it," Eva said, her voice small as if she’d totally lost it. "You did it because you wanted to do it."
Dante didn’t respond.
"Well, if you knew you loved me even for a moment during the time we spent together, if our time together ever meant anything to you, then you should sign the divorce papers." Eva’s chest was clenched tightly as she said these words.
Dante stared at her with hurt evident in his gaze, and this time, he didn’t bother to mask it.
"Sign the papers, Dante," she said.
Dante didn’t say anything as he reached into his car, where he’d roughly secured the papers.
He held the pen in his hands and scribbled down his signature on it.
Eva watched the ink taint the blank space on the paper, her eyes taking in every move while she tried to hold back her tears.
When Dante was done, he handed her the papers.
"Are you happy now?" He asked.
"Very." Eva nearly choked on her saliva at the word that spilled past her lips but she quickly composed herself. "I’ll get this finalized with my lawyer. You can stop stalking me now."
They shared eye contact for two seconds before Eva swiveled her body towards the entrance of the hospital.
’This is it. I’m legally Evangeline Montclair. No longer Evangeline De Rossi,’ she thought to herself.
"I just want to let you know," Dante suddenly said, making her halt. "I did everything for a reason, and I’m going to do everything it takes to prove to you how much I love you, Eva."
Eva didn’t acknowledge his words and resumed walking towards the hospital.
Unbeknownst to the newly divorced couple, a woman had been watching them for a long time.
