Chapter 412: Chapter 412: Stronger Enemies

Everyone looked into the distance. The skyline was slowly ripping apart.

"....a portal." Lu Hao finished Lu Tao’ unfinished statement.

Lu Zhen noticed how stable the portal was.

"Whatever is coming through that portal is stronger than the commander we faced a few days ago."

Those who were just arriving at the rooftop after Lu Tao’s summon couldn’t believe what they were hearing.

That Commander had been a pain to take down. If Lu Hao hadn’t gone all out, they might not have survived. Yet something stronger was attacking them now?

The apocalypse just got a whole lot more complicated.

"Let’s wait and see what happens. We can make plans according to the situation." Leng Pan sensed the emotional fluctuations in the people around her and comforted them.

She didn’t want them to lose their morale even before the fight began.

As they watched, a silhouette stepped through the distortion.

It was taller than the commander they had faced before with a broader build.

And behind the silhouette, more shapes stepped out of the portal and stood mid air like floating balloons.

Leng Pan watched all this with anticipation. She was no longer in training mode. She had officially entered battle mode.

"Everyone, get ready for battle. Fire ability users, you will launch long-range attacks. Don’t let the enemy get close. Water ability users, try launching small weapons like ninjas. I am sure you all understand what I mean by that. As for earth superpower users, try to build traps that can hold those intruders. We will try to force them to the ground. Metal ability users, I believe your attacks work better at close-range. Once the intruders are trapped in the traps built by the earth ability users, move in and attack them immediately before they can gain their bearing. For the ordinary fighters, your job is to distract them. You have to harass them so that they cannot focus on fighting against the main attackers. But do not get too close to them so that you don’t lose your life. We have just lost a few of us, I don’t want to mourn any more of you." Leng Pan switched to Commander mode and issued commands and arranged the battlefield before the enemy even arrived.

"She is back." Ouyang Jin said with a smile as he watched Leng Pan give out commands.

"Yes. We can fight to our content with her leading us." Momo added.

Sonny, who was always quiet, had taken off his glasses today and was in combat gear. He nodded his head in agreement without saying a word.

Blaze, Silk, and their companions were also there listening carefully and couldn’t believe that such orderly orders were given by a civilian girl who wasn’t even twenty-five years old yet.

However, remembering the video from the memory extracted from the catalyst core, they knew that she was just getting warmed up.

"Alright, let’s go meet these people somewhere else. We don’t want to affect the base." Lu Zhen ordered and everyone saluted before turning and running down the stairs.

Leng Pan, Lu Zhen, and Lu Hao didn’t go down with the rest of the team. Instead, they jumped on the two dragons and headed straight towards the oncoming enemies.

The two dragons roared as they scored into the sky with their masters on their backs.

Uncle Li didn’t join the battle but went into the safest building in the base, which was the building they lived in and directly all the survivors who won’t be fighting underground.

There was an underground parking lot that had been expanded and could fit thousands of people.

The elderly, women who had just given birth, and children huddled together in the parking lot as if to give each other strength and courage.

Uncle Li and a few others stood at various spots inside the parking lot to keep order and calm those whose family members had gone to join the battle.

Li Yunjia and Auntie Li were busy preparing medical supplies to provide immediate support for those injured in battle.

They made sure that all the medicine was diluted in spiritual spring water to improve efficiency and reduce the risk of mutation in case those despicable aliens had brought zombies too.

The whole base had gone as quiet as a grave without a single sound leaking out. The survivors hiding were afraid that if they made a commotion and attracted attackers, it would distract those fighting actively in the battle and it might result in losses.

Thus, the whole base also appeared empty without a single soul in sight.

The alien in the lead stepped fully out of the portal and looked in the direction Leng Pan and Lu Zhen were coming from.

Even across several kilometers, its gaze was so sharp that they could feel it locked onto them.

"You want to test the power of earthlings?" Leng Pan stared straight at the alien and muttered softly. "Then come on and taste it."

The alien hovering at the front of the formation seemed to feel challenged and slowly raised one hand.

Behind it, more figures stepped out of the portal until nearly twenty aliens floated in the sky. Their bodies were covered in dark armor that shimmered with faint violet lines like living circuits.

Leng Pan narrowed her eyes when she saw this. These aliens were different from anything she had seen before. They seem to be more advanced than the ones she faced in ancient earth as well. However, she wasn’t the same person either.

From a distance, she could sense the oppressive aura radiating from them.

"They are much stronger than the commander," Lu Zhen muttered as he assessed the enemy he was about to face.

However, there was no fear or hesitation in his face, only determination and conviction.

Lu Hao, standing on the dragon’s neck ahead of them, didn’t say anything. His gaze remained fixed on the leading alien.

The alien tilted its head slightly, as if studying them.
