"You guys will help us find him?" Lily asked with a look of eagerness. She never expected to get help from these guys.

But then she realized that based on Damien's abilities, these people would be interested in having his help. So it made sense.

Valentina also couldn't help but perk her ears since she knew without the help of these people, it might be very difficult to find Damien, especially since there were so many unknown dangers outside that they couldn't fight off on their own yet.

But she still hadn't placed her complete trust in them.

Reva and Yuria felt things couldn't be that easy.

And as expected, Kena leaned against the table with her arms crossed as she said, "Yes, but in return, you all will have to join our ranks. We are in dire need of gifted people like you four, especially in a world like ours. This is not a selfish request since helping us is akin to helping yourselves and the entire humanity."

Reva and her sisters glanced at each other as they mentally communicated,

"I knew it. They want something for us in return for helping to find Damien," Valentina remarked, unsure of whether this was alright or not.

"It is always like that. Why would they spend their resources and time for nothing? But the question is if she and her people would keep their promise or not. What if they plan to string us along on an endless journey?" Reva asked her sisters mentally.

"Do we have a choice? What we know so far is that they know how to handle the dangers outside. They also know the Old World like the back of their hand, unlike us, who have no idea where we even are or how big this world is. Even if we get our hands on a map, it would never be the same as having these people guide us," Yuria stated her opinion.

"I don't feel like this Station Lord has any bad intentions. And as she said, our future is going to be in the Old World whether we like it or not. But with the Ghouls threatening our existence, we can never live in peace even if we find Damien. As she said, only if we work together can we help each other," Lily softly suggested while finding relief in the feeling of the connection she had with Damien's soul. She couldn't feel or sense his condition but the strong sense of warmth she could feel in her soul was proof of Damien's warmth...the signs that his soul was still brimming with life.

Kena rubbed her elbows as she noticed that these four otherworldly beauties were conversing with each other, and yet she couldn't even sense it, despite the huge differences in their cultivation.

Usually, the only way cultivators could speak to each other without using their mouths was through ethereal transmissions that were transmitted mentally. But powerful cultivators could always listen in on the conversation between weaker cultivators. Even if they have no plans of listening in, the relatively more powerful cultivator could feel any weaker cultivators near them using ethereal transmissions.

But Kena wasn't even able to feel any such transmissions. Thus she felt it quite intriguing that these four gifted women were able to converse with complete privacy.

She could only form a few guesses on how they do it, but she had no plans of prying into their business.

Yuria and her sisters finally came to a decision as she asked Kena, "If we plan to join you people, how exactly do you want us to help you, and how exactly will you guys help us find Damien?"

"We also don't know whom you work for or which organization exactly," Reva added.

Kena softly chuckled as she said, "There is no empire or kingdom system here. There is only a single resistance organization called the Salvation. And as I introduced myself before, I am one of the few Station Lords who manage a station like the one we are staying in right now. The reason we don't consider this a city is because a station can fall at any time. We never consider places like this to be permanent settlements. We always expect the Ghouls to come for us or find out about this place at any time. If we are not prepared and ready for an unexpected attack, we would only be sentencing ourselves to death. It is not without reason since countless stations have fallen, and sometimes even retaking them wouldn't be worth the effort. This is how pathetic the state of humanity is. We can't even afford to consider any place as our home. Instead, all we have are military establishments like these stations. We have been fighting a war that has been going on for thousands of years, and every single person in this station contributes to the war in some way or the other, no matter how weak or strong they are."

Kena stood straight as she continued, "So we want you four to become our soldiers just like how I am a soldier for our race. Don't worry. We will train you four and brief you all on how this world exactly works. It would definitely give you all a chance to survive the brutality outside. And as for finding Damien, I will personally use my network of soldiers across this world and see if anybody would come across a man that matches Damien's description. If Damien is alive, then definitely I will get some information about his presence."

Reva and her sisters again glanced at each other, feeling that what Kena was offering seemed reasonable. At least, it was way better considering their situation where they had no one they knew in this world.

Yuria gave an amiable smile as she said, "Alright. We have a deal, and thanks for taking us in. But just one question. If you people were having a hard time surviving in this world, then why not come to our Rising Sun Continent? If Farah could do that, why didn't others do it?"
