Chapter 283: Chapter 283. Unwanted Background

"You know, if you want to ensure that I stay quiet, shouldn’t you keep me close so you know I haven’t spilled anything?" Tuang Yin challenged Amon.

Amon gave Tuang Yin a cold stare.

"Don’t give me that! You know that don’t work on me," Tuang Yin said.

They arrived at the practice building, but since many students wanted to enter, they had to queue. Amon was about to force his way in when he heard a voice.

"Tuang Yin?"

Amon and Tuang Yin turned to the voice. They saw a bunch of young people. These young people were also queuing to enter the practice building. Judging from their age and attire, Amon reckoned these young people were the new freshman students who joined the Royal Academy earlier this year.

"It is you!" Said one of the young girls in the group. "I have heard that the bastard child of the clan master had been chased off, so this is the place you were sent to."

"This place is too good for a slut like her, if you ask me," a young boy beside the speaking girl said.

"Who is she, sister Xiaoli?" Another boy asked.

"She is our cousin," the first girl answered.

Tuang Yin’s face went into a scowl upon hearing their talk. "Xiaoli, Ruolo. What are you two doing here?" She asked.

Amon was rather surprised seeing her reaction. Normally, she would laugh off any insult and then counterattack with her own insult or use manipulation. Her steely attitude to stay steady and cheery was one of the qualities he thought positively about her. That quality didn’t show at this moment.

"Your cousin? Shouldn’t you introduce her to us then?" asked the boy who enquired about Tuang Yin’s identity. Tuang Yin was pretty and sexy, after all. The boy found her attractive even if she was older than him.

"You better stay away from this slut," the girl, whose name was Tuang Xiaoli, said.

The boy beside her, Tuang Ruolo, added, "My sister is right. You will regret it if you associate with her, just like how my uncle, our clan master, associated with her mother. You see, her mother worked in one of the brothels in our city. Our uncle probably played too often with the whores there. One day, one of them brought this slut to our clan and claimed that she was our uncle’s offspring. Being a responsible man, our uncle took her in and raised her, but she was never truly one of us."

Amon noticed Tuang Yin’s eyes became slightly glassy hearing the words from those two.

"That’s right! Even if our uncle accepted you. You should know that we will never do, slut!" Xiaoli exclaimed.

"Well said, sister. Come, we should not... Who are you? What do you want?"

Tuang Ruolo was interrupted because Amon had come and stood before him.

Without any warning, Amon’s palm slammed into Tuang Ruolo’s cheek. The slap was so hard the freshman student flew away.

"You! What do you thi–" Tuang Xiaoli was also interrupted because she, too, received a slap. She flew to the opposite side from her brother.

Everyone was shocked by this sudden brutality. The junior students looked over. When they saw it was Amon, they stopped wondering what was wrong. Some fools had offended the wrong person.

The freshman students were not that well-informed. They instead got angry because an older student had bullied them.

"How dare you?! Who do you think you are?"

"Do you think just because you are a junior student, you can bully us? Do you know we are the member of the Astute Faction?"

"If you dare, wait here while we call our seniors in the faction!"

"Hey, look! That is one of our seniors," The freshman students pointed at one of the junior students queueing to go into the practice building.

The junior student he pointed at pretended not to see. He looked away. The freshman students were confused by their senior’s actions.

While the junior students from the Astute Faction didn’t respond to their juniors’ call, plenty of other junior students walked out of the crowd. These junior students came to Amon.

"Boss, are these kids giving you trouble?" One of them asked.

His friend immediately knocked him on the head. "Are you stupid? How can our boss be troubled by these kids?"

"Ah! You are right. I’m sorry, boss! Please, let us deal with them. They are not worthy of your time."

"Hmph," Amon agreed that these kids were not worthy enough for him to waste his time on them. He grabbed Tuang Yin’s hand and walked away.

After Amon and Tuang Yin walked away, the junior students surrounded the freshman group. They even grabbed Tuang Xiaoli and Tuang Ruolo, still hurting on the ground, and threw them back into the group.

"You all must have a death wish enraging our boss. Haven’t you ever heard of the Vicious Faction?" One of the junior students asked.

"The... The vicious? Do... Do you mean that guy just now is..."

"Yes, he is Lin Mo. The leader of the Vicious Faction," the junior student said. "Now, obediently receive your punishment."

"You don’t need to do that, you know," Tuang Yin told Amon after they entered the practice building. "I can perfectly defend myself."

"Don’t kid yourself. You looked like you were about to cry," Amon said.

"Aww...! I don’t know you care about me!" Tuang Yin exclaimed. Her cheery demeanor returned.

"I don’t, but you are known for affiliating with me. If you cry in public because of those freshman students, you will bring shame to me."

"Well, excuse me for embarrassing you then!" Tuang Yin said while pouting.

"You lied to me," Amon said.

"Eh?" Tuang Yin didn’t understand Amon’s accusation.

"You said you were sent here because your family had given up trying to groom you into a princess."

"I... I just didn’t wish you learn my background," Tuang Yin said.

"There is nothing for you to be ashamed of," Amon said. "I don’t care about anyone’s background. I only care whether they can be useful or not." fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

"So, am I useful to you?" Tuang Yin asked. She pressed her body to Amon’s arm.

"At this moment, no," Amon pushed her away.

"You are truly rude. Don’t you know I’m a lady?" Tuang Yin complained.

"No, you are a whore’s daughter," Amon returned.

"You are mean!" Tuang Yin exclaimed.

"Go away! Don’t bother me from learning the meridian point technique," Amon said.

*

Tuang Yin didn’t leave. She forcefully tagged along with Amon.

The practice building was full of junior students because they all wanted to learn the meridian point technique as soon as possible. Amon and Tuang Yin went from room to room. Since there were more students wishing to learn the techniques than the available teachers, the students had to queue before the teachers helped them grasp the technique.

Amon wasn’t willing to waste time queueing, but he couldn’t force his way to jump the queue with teachers present. He thought about coming back later when there were fewer students. But before he left, he tried his luck by going to the main office of this building, which was An Guan’s office. It was also the office where Amon was brought for disciplinary action after the public brawl during his freshman years.

Amon knocked on the door. Luckily, An Guan was inside. "Enter," his voice sounded from behind the door.

Aside from An Guan, Yong Baili was also inside the office.

"Student Lin Mo? Do you need anything?" An Guan asked.

"Do you mind teaching me the meridian point technique?" Amon asked.

"Me too," Tuang Yin uttered.

"Do you two think I am some low-level teacher with the time to teach students in a private session?" An Guan said. He then added, "Baili, teach them."

Yong Baili gave An Guan a stare that said, ’What the hell?’

"Just now, you said you are bored and asked me to go for a drink, right? I still need a few more hours to finish this paperwork. By the time you are done teaching these two, I should be available."

"Tsk! Very well. Come, you two!" Yong Baili said.

Yong Baili took the two to an empty office next door. It was not exactly a training room but learning the meridian point technique didn’t require a large space. He taught the two the basics of how to channel and control their aether to make it effective enough to affect the meridian points.

Amon only needed an hour to learn how to perform the disruptive technique. When he tried using the technique on his body, he felt like a hole had appeared where he poked. He felt hollow at that spot.

"Your accuracy is impressive," Yong Baili praised. "Most beginners couldn’t hit the meridian point on their first try."

Despite the accuracy, Amon required a few seconds to channel and control the aether until it was sufficient for the technique. He needed to be able to execute it instantly if he wanted to use this technique during combat. He decided to train for speed later. He wanted to use this chance to learn the stimulating technique while Yong Baili was available.

"Aren’t you a bit hasty?" Yong Baili asked. "Most students get used to the disruptive technique first before they proceed to learn the stimulating technique."

"I am not like most students," Amon replied.
