Chapter 352: Fighting (2)

Looking at the enormous molten rock, Ezra clicked his tongue.

"Well, this won’t be easy"

The thing was quadruple the size of a normal boulder.

But Ezra wasn’t going to cave in, he was no pushover.

On his feet, Ezra erupted with white lightning, cracking the ground.

He sent two lightning slashes towards the ball of magma, but they fizzled out, leaving unremarkable cracks.

But that was enough for confirmation that it could be damaged.

Immediately, he adds darkness to the mix, turning it into black lightning.

Taking a stance, Ezra placed the twin swords together, forming the scythe and, without stopping, he begins to spin it.

Skyfall spinned so fast it became a mirage, absorbing the dark lightning swirling over Ezra’s body.

On cue, Gaza tossed the magma ball, hurling it at Ezra at great speeds.

Spinning fast whilst covered in black lightning, Skyfall made Ezra look both deadly and dazzling.

As a final touch, he added fire.

’Just like that time’

Visualizing the attack from when he destroyed the demon cult’s lair, Ezra let it rip.

Letting off two slash of those three elements, they cut right through the approaching boulder almost instantaneously.

Time seemed to slow down as a second later, the boulder split vertically in half and then horizontally.

It split in four like an orange, each side separated, passing right by Ezra without touching him, before crashing into the soil, exploding into a thousand pieces and changing the landscape for the worse.

Eyes on Gaza, the dragon was visibly pissed as the perfect magic circle now had a sizable crack running across it.

Seems like that attack had done quite some damage.

Turning Skyfall to attack again, Gaza created a small white magic circle.

Without warning...

*Boom!*

From the magic circle, a ray of white light tore straight at him.

With his senses screaming, Ezra bent to an obscene angle, almost becoming a table as he dodged the ray of light by a hair’s breadth, missing him by an inch.

Propping himself back on his feet, Ezra raced straight at Gaza, sending blades of black lightning at him whilst continuously moving, gradually increasing the tempo.

To Ezra’s surprise, blood spurts from Gaza’s left arm, revealing a deep gash.

It confirmed that Ezra’s attacks were indeed effective.

That was all he needed to know.

[It’s a gravity spell that increased your weight by at least five times]

Making a few strides to change location, he stomped the ground, creating a thick wall of ice.

Then, he sent mana through his feet into the ground, activating a rune formation prepared beforehand.

Made to be as expansive as possible, it lit up the entirety of Quartez.

Under the gaze of thousands of warriors, glowing bands of crimson light appeared beneath their feet.

By Ezra’s will, the spilled blood of both enemy and allies rose into the air and shaped themselves into spears.

Motioning his hand forward, the spears raced in the direction of the dungeon, and more specifically, towards Gaza.

In the time before the spears would arrive, he strengthened the barrier as countless blood spears rained down on him.

Hitting the barrier, most broke in half, but the combined force of such a continuous stream of attacks wasn’t something he could brush off.

Gaza was forced to actively keep the barrier’s rigidity, else it would crack.

With such a clear opening, Ezra abruptly withdrew his control over the blood spears, making them fall to the floor as puddles.

Erupting with black lightning, he laces Skyfall with fire and spinned.

Before Gaza could make a proper defense, he let off four large slashes almost simultaneously, each one cutting through the barrier and damaging the magic circle drawn on the floor before being extinguished.

The gaps made by each strike rapidly healed up, but Ezra was already there.

Right behind those four slashes, he stepped into the magic circle’s range once again, this time following the path damaged by his previous attacks.

Passing through the largest cut in the barrier, his legs buckled as gravity multiplied, but Ezra pushed through without a hitch and dug Skyfall right into the ground.

*Bam!*

The transferred black lightning caused critical damage to the magic circle, which in turn destabilized the barrier even more, making movement easier.

Just in the nick of time too.

*Boom!*

He dodged another one of Gaza’s lethal light beams aimed at killing him or at least mortally wounding him.

In truth, the battle was over the moment Ezra destabilized the barrier.

With his speed, Ezra reached Gaza in seconds, and moving faster than the dragon could react, he cleanly lobbed off his head, not allowing him any monologuing, and then cut off his other four limbs in the same motion.

The magic circle embedded in the ground shattered, turning into particles of light as all that remained was the chopped up remains of a dragon with his red blood painting the clean soil.

Turning, Ezra faced the gigantic dungeon.

’So, what should I do now?’

[You need to destroy the dungeons] Zydrax replied. [We’ve killed their forces, so from now on, we’ll stop any other from coming here until you hit the Transcendent-rank]

[Besides, with what’s happened so far, the situation couldn’t be that bad]

’So, back to cultivating?’

[Back to cultivating]

He turned backwards to place the chopped dragon into his space ring when something prickles him.

’Hmm?’

It was Gaza’s upper body.

Tossing Gaza’s head into oblivion out of pure annoyance, Ezra cut the upper body in half.

Using blood manipulation to draw most of the blood within, he plunged his arm inside, searching for something.

It took less than half a minute to find it.

It was too big to be missed.

Slowly, Ezra pulled out a bloody orb.

Cleaning the blood away, the orb shined.

Being transparent, it showcased the cerulean essence within.

[Oh...]

’Do you know something?’

[Honestly, it’s been so long since I surpassed this stage that I’d forgotten about this]

’What is it?’

[A Mythic-rank’s mana core] he said.

[Except for special cases like yours, others expand the size of their mana core and refine the essence within it until it changes state]

[What I forgot was, you can absorbs someone else’s accumulated essence]

[Well, since there was only Frederick until now, it didn’t cross my mind]

’So, I can advance my cultivation using this?’

[Yes, you should be able to absorb about ten percent of the accumulated essence. Simply place it in between your hand and concentrate]

’Ok’

[Would be better if you sit down]

Ezra took a lotus position in the air.

Following Zydrax’s instructions, he closed his eyes to get a better feel and, all of a sudden, essence gushed into his body.

Feeling euphoric, Ezra opened his eyes to see his veins glowing whilst the orb dimmed, its essence rapidly sucked away.

Two minutes later, he found that he couldn’t absorb anymore even though it was more than half full.

Clicking his tongue, he tossed orb away and it shattered, letting the remaining essence scatter and dissolve into particles.

[Right...]

’Something wrong?’

[You absorbed much more than I’d expected. About twenty percent]

’Well, I have you to thank for creating such a wonderful artifact’

[Of course. I make the best artifacts]

’Come to think of it...’

He willed out Bezart’s crispy corpse.

Tearing into it without care, he found another mana core.

As he thought of absorbing it, something else popped into his mind.

’What happened to the third one Frederick was fighting?’

At this moment, otherworld monsters started to exit the dungeon again.

It had stopped when Gaza stationed itself in front of it for some reason. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

In any case, Frederick’s safety was more important than killing a few more monsters.

Placing Skyfall in the space ring along with the last piece of Gaza, he took off.

Moving swiftly, it didn’t take him long to locate a massive crater.

It was only achievable by Mythic-ranks, and since he didn’t create it, someone else had to.

Landing with urgency, he stomped the ground, sending waves of mana to relay the location of anything in the surroundings.

Taking note of four people, he rushed there, finding Frederick seated on the ground and three other familiar figures slumped close by.

Just meters away lay Mavar’s corpse.

"Frederick" Ezra called out.

"Ezra? What are you doing here? And why do you look like that?"

"I obviously came to see if my friend needed help. As for looking like this...ha, it was an accident"

He was putting on just enough clothing to cover from his masculinity to his knees.

Though he was covered in blood, his nicely built muscles were highlighted while the runes he’d carved looked like pretty badass tattoos.

Placed in a battlefield, it looked ridiculous, but Ezra hadn’t taken cognizance of that until now.

"I’m not that weak. I-"

"Nope" Johan interjected, raising his head a bit.

"Uncle’s weak. He would’ve died to that thing if we didn’t help"

Theron and Ashton made a sound that signaled that they agreed.

"What are you talking about? If it wasn’t for me, you all would’ve died"

"Whatever..."

Ezra just laughed at the ridiculousness of it.

He tore out Mavar’s mana core and gave it to Frederick.

"Absorb the essence. It should increase your cultivation by quite a bit"

"Sure"

Placing the bloody core in Frederick’s hand, Ezra went to one side and tore off what was left of his trouser, then iced himself and melted the ice, thus cleaning his body.

Quickly, he changed into new clothes he had stockpiled in the space ring.

Now looking suave again, he headed to the dungeon to finish things up.
