Chapter 427: Stellar Body

Kovar and Ezra agreed to halt the training two days towards the day of the expedition.

It was to serve as a period of recuperation for Ezra and also enough time for him to make adequate preparations for the expedition.

Unlike previous times where Ezra would head to Black Quartet on his lonesome, times had changed.

Now an Elder of the red dragon clan, Ezra was to accompany the clan leader along with the rest of Elders to travel together.

While a formality, this would indicate cohesion and solidarity of the clan to outsiders.

Besides, it was a matter of course that the clan would show off their newly gained Elder to the other clans.

A simple political move to spread their influence and increase their reputation.

Therefore, Kovar had notified Ezra of the time and date of departure, which was the day of the expedition, and the set time was dawn.

It appeared punctuality was of little concern for nascents.

In the first of the two days, Ezra made sure to get his hours in, taking a hearty nap to recover from both the physical and mental fatigue accumulated over the course of the training.

Waking up, he began devising a plan of action on how best to raid this new secret realm in the upcoming expedition.

As entry into the nascent realm changed things drastically, there was a need to revise the plan of action.

While maintaining the same process of refining energy, Nascence brought about a different propensity in both complexity and difficulty, which is also why it is marked as the entry line for the powerful.

Befitting these claims, the realm of nascence was split into two major aspects, the refining phase and the absorption phase.

The first aspect, the refining phase refers to the building of foundation by refining one’s physique into a stellar body.

A stellar body or stellar physique, denotes exactly what its name connoted.

It is a body capable of withstanding stellar energies.

Namely Nova essence, the energy stars were formed from.

Whilst still entailing the refinement of energy, the majority of the nascent realm connoted fortifying and refining oneself to a higher form instead.

This change also highlighted the difference in energy, namely from origin energy to nova essence.

Nova essence, the energy making up stars, held far more lethality and overall versatility compared to origin energy, which its scale of its use far higher than origin energy.

Not to mention higher levels of purity multiple times that of its lesser counterpart.

With such a large gap between the two forms of energy, it stood to reason that complete refinement of the soul using origin energy was not enough to enable a person to simply begin absorbing nova essence.

It should be remembered that the star’s ember, that sliver of nova essence, was created after the complete refinement of the entirety of the origin energy accumulated throughout all stages of the Transcendent realm.

All of the origin energy combined and refined along with the soul, resulted in only a sliver of nova essence.

This ought to serve as adequate reference regarding the gap between the two energies.

The creation of the star’s ember was not a pass to allow absorption of nova essence, but rather an indication of one’s qualification.

It simply served as a mark of qualification.

A signal of entry into the realm of nascence and would as well serve as the core of one’s energy pool when they began absorbing nova essence later on.

Therefore, the primary requirement was for the person to fortify his/her body till it was able to withstand, contain and control nova essence, or in shorter terms, to refine it into a stellar body.

This process, simple as it sounded, posed a difficulty almost unmatched within the entire cultivation sphere.

Zydrax noted that refining a stellar body accounted for a great deal in the quality of one’s cultivation going forward.

It affected the results of one’s cultivation across even higher realms, beyond nascence to the realm of constellations and even paragons.

He mentioned that the poor quality of one’s stellar body was the reason that an uncountable number of higher beings could never surpass the realm of constellations.

More than a few sections of them couldn’t even reach the constellation realm due the same reason.

It is regarded as the largest dividing factor that sets higher beings apart, once again highlighting the cause of the realms’ significance.

Putting a number on it, Zydrax explained that the importance of one’s stellar body grade amounted to at least 65%, sometimes 70% of the nascent rank as a whole. Addressing that the second phase, the absorption phase, was nowhere near as difficult.

Quoting his own journey, he affirmed that it affected one’s cultivation journey as a whole, factoring in for at least 15% of one’s entire cultivation journey as a determinant as to how high one could transverse in the realms of cultivation.

Yet in due course, it couldn’t be said that crossing the nascent realm was difficult.

Rather, the difficulty lied in crossing over to the next realm with good results, with each grade of completion posing a difficulty scale at least twice higher than the last.

The grade of completion illustrated the overall rank of one’s stellar body, because as you might have guessed, there are levels to it.

Split in four, you had the Main Sequence body, Radiant body, Celestial body and Astral body.

Each grade marked a world of difference compared to the grade below as the quality of one’s stellar body affected more than a few things.

It dictated a person’s initial storage limit as well as the initial output limit of nova essence, energy manipulation ability pertaining to the ease as well as efficiency of its utilization, speed of energy absorption and duration of its stabilization.

In this way, it directly affects one’s cultivation speed in the second half of the nascent realm.

Allowing those with high essence absorption speed and fast stabilization to advance ahead of their peers accordingly, and many times, the advantages only culminated the further they cultivated, eventually leading to a wide gap in strength even while in the same realm.

It was similar to the gap between the classes of the rich and the poor, which often loomed above people’s heads like an unbridgeable distance.

With this much detail given, it is now easy to understand why the nascent realm marked the starting line for the truly powerful, but also marked a divide between the merely powerful and the truly powerful.

To be explained better, a nascent was baseline planetary power scale, soon ascending to a level of power that shook star zones while having only achieved the creation of a stellar body.

To measure the speed of progression, you have five stages.

The embryonic stage, seed formation stage, core creation stage, nebula cloud stage, and the Nexus stage.

Each stage is marked by peculiar characteristics that portray the reason behind their names.

Moreover, getting through each stage involves a multitude of processes that become more rigorous and cumbersome the better the result said person wants to achieve.

At the end of this, you then traverse into the second phase of the nascent realm, the absorption phase.

This phase simply entails filling the stellar body with nova essence, but the power gap between those in the two phases is so far apart that the absorption stage was named another realm entirely.

The Ascendancy realm.

It was named so as a portrayal of its use as the metaphorical stairway ascending straight into the realm of constellations but essentially, it was a means to establish the difference in power between those traversing across the two major aspects and split them into separate classes.

Back on topic, the creation of a stellar body required the use of various items as one progressed through the five stages.

Therefore, Ezra had to decide whether to ditch the others of his clan and venture out on his own, or cooperate with them whilst in the secret realm.

As an elder, he had already received information on the secret realm they would be heading into, which consisted of the landscape, trails as well as difficulty level.

Thinking it over, Ezra decided to stick with his method of solo movement.

For one, with <universal concealment>, he wouldn’t be needing partners to look after his back.

Moreover, as the presence of others would also inhibit Ezra from showcasing his other abilities, they would only act as chains restricting him from acting freely.

Then, while it seemed like a good idea to cooperate with the other elders to foster bonds, the fact that Ezra was to leave for the main clan of the red dragon race sooner or later, such actions were relatively pointless.

Especially considering that the majority of the elders did not appreciate his presence one bit.

With that decided, the next issue was picking out what way to go about raiding the secret realm.

In the end, Ezra realized it was unneeded since with Zydrax in his head, he would have someone to coach him whilst in the secret realm.

Successfully refining the stellar body requires the obtainment of a number of resources for different purposes, such as special herbs to make elixirs, special minerals or even the remains of an astral beast.

Therefore, it is a given that the resources within a nascent level secret realm would be many times more valuable than that of transcendent level.

Yet at the same time, the risk, possibility of death were also many times greater as well.

It was not a place for a first-step nascent to venture through alone and had it not been for <universal concealment>, Ezra wouldn’t have dared it either.
