Rise of the rogue queen-Chapter 15 - - Caden
Chapter 15: Chapter 15 - Caden
"Enough with the show, you can put me down now."
"Quiet. They're still watching."
I frowned and glanced behind me.
"Are you joking? Because all I see are trees. Will you drop me now?"
Caden smirked but finally let me down.
The moment my feet touched the ground, I straightened, brushing off dirt, and took a step forward, only to collapse. A sharp sting tore through my leg as my wound reopened, fresh blood seeping into the fabric.
"You said you could walk." Caden said unconcerned as he walked ahead, not bothering to turn back.
Gritting my teeth, I pushed up again—only to fall even harder. A frustrated groan left my lips as I clutched my leg, watching him disappear into the distance.

He was really leaving me here?
My chest tightened, but I swallowed down the bitterness.
The wound refused to heal, my skin hot and swollen. The blade that struck me had been laced with something unnatural, something that even a werewolf couldn't heal from.
And it was all because of him.
Caden had ruined my moment with the Council, leaving me distracted just enough for the Second High Lord of the West to strike. If I were to point fingers, he was the reason I got injured in the first place. The least he could do was stay.
But he hadn't.
I scoffed, dragging in a ragged breath.
Then again... he had tried to help. And I had pushed him away.
I sighed, shifting uncomfortably. Maybe I should apologize..... Yeah, it's too late. I bet Roland and the others would be worried if only this injury would heal. I groaned and tried to touch it but shrieked at the pain I felt.
A sudden gust of wind sent leaves swirling around me, and before I could react, strong arms wrapped around me, lifting me off the ground.
I gasped. My feet dangled. The earth was far beneath me.
I was in the air.
Panic shot through me, and I clung to Caden instinctively. "Don't let go!"
He grinned, flying higher. "Afraid of heights? The mighty queen is afraid of heights?"
His amused chuckle vibrated against my skin, and I scowled, raising a fist. "If you drop me, I swear—"
He loosened his grip.
I plunged, my scream tore through the night, the wind roaring in my ears as I fell downwards.
And then, in a blur, he caught me again.
My breath came in sharp, uneven gasps as I clung to him, my heart hammering against my ribs.
His face was inches from mine, breath warm against my skin. Even now, despite my fear, I couldn't help but take in the sharp angles of his jaw, the way his piercing blue eyes seemed to bore into my very soul.
Slowly, he descended, and my feet finally touched solid ground.
I let out a shaky exhalation, but the moment I shifted my weight, pain tore through my leg. A low groan slipped past my lips.
"Are you okay?" Caden asked, his hands steadying me.
I was burning up. My body trembled, sweat clinging to my skin. My vision blurred. Instinctively, I leaned into him.
His muscles tensed beneath my touch, but he didn't pull away.
Something warm pressed against my injured leg, and a sharp jolt of pain shot through me making me flinch.
"The blade was laced with a rare poison," Caden muttered, his tone dark. "But how did he get his hands on something like this?"
His fingers brushed damp strands of hair from my face. I was too weak to argue.
His touch lingered. His gaze flickered to my lips, then back to my fevered eyes.
"The poison is spreading," he murmured, his voice softer now. "I don't have the means to heal you here... but I hope you won't be mad after this."
I barely had time to process his words before his lips met mine.
A sharp jolt ran through me, something electric waking in my blood.
I gasped, my fingers tightening around his shirt, my body instinctively pulling closer.
He carried me, lowering me carefully onto the ground. My back met the cool surface, but all I could focus on was the strange energy coursing through my veins. I had no idea what I was feeling—maybe it was the mate bond controlling me. But this... I wanted this more than anything.
He crashed his lips onto mine, his tongue delving deep. His hands found my breasts over my top, squeezing firmly, teasing until I gasped into his mouth.
His hands moved lower, unzipping my trousers with ease before tugging them down. I barely had time to process the cool air against my thighs before his head dipped between them. His tongue flicked over my clit, and a sharp gasp escaped me. The sensation sent shivers rippling through my body. My chest rose and fell in frantic rhythm as he slid his fingers inside me—first two, then three, stretching me with steady, deliberate strokes. The mate bond was stronger than I had ever imagined making me helpless against it. I moaned, gripping the ground as pleasure built inside me.
He paused pulling down his trousers. My breath hitched at the sight of him, he was bigger than I expected, thick and hard. The thought of how he would fit inside me sent a Jolt of anticipation coursing through me, but despite everything, I still wanted him.
I barely had time to process it before he hovered over me, his body pressing flush against mine, his heat consuming me.
"This is going to hurt," he murmured.
And without warning, he sank his teeth into my neck deeply. A cry tore from my lips at the sudden pain. But before I could dwell on it, he kissed me, his lips melting away the sting.
The Next Morning
I woke up blinking against the dim morning light, I sat up, my fingers brushing over the unfamiliar sheets beneath me. The scent of this place... I knew it.
Silver Rogue Pack.
I looked down on my leg. The wound was gone.
My heart pounded as my hand flew to my neck, fingers tracing over my heated skin. The mark Caden left was still there, so everything that happened wasn't a dream.
I swung my legs over the bed and pushed myself up, stepping outside.
"My queen!"
I turned as Roland rushed toward me.
"You were brought in by a man," he said quickly.
"Where is he?"
Roland hesitated. "He left."
My brows furrowed. "What?"
"He left without saying a word."
