(Pov Romani) (Pov Riser)
I took a deep breath, capturing the class's attention as Luvia continued to describe the Holy Grail War with a passion that reflected the grandeur of her lineage. The way she articulated each Servant class, detailing the legends and powers associated with them, enriched the atmosphere with an air of mystery and expectation. With her comprehensive knowledge, she managed to transport all of us back to the ancient battlefields where these mythical figures fought their decisive battles.
"Very well, Miss Edelfelt," I responded, maintaining a professional tone despite the intimate memories her presence evoked. "Your knowledge of the last Holy Grail War is impressive. Now, let's delve into how each of these Servants influenced the final outcome of the conflict."
As I began to explain, I couldn't help but notice how Mash observed everything with those attentive eyes behind glasses too big for her face. There was something special about her, something that went beyond her condition as a homunculus. It was a genuine curiosity, a thirst for knowledge that reminded me of myself in simpler times.
"Dr. Romani, how does this information help us prepare for future summonings?" asked a student, his eyes shining with curiosity.
"Excellent question," I said, seizing the moment of interest. "Knowing the previous Servants not only provides us with an understanding of the capabilities each class can offer but also mentally prepares each Master for the responsibilities that come with summoning. Each Servant is a heroic spirit with its own will and desires. Knowing their stories and characteristics can be crucial for a successful partnership."
As I spoke, I saw Mash diligently noting down every word. Her interest and dedication were palpable, and every gesture of hers reminded me of the weight she carried. As much as fate seemed immutable, moments like these made me believe that we could still shape small pieces of the future, giving her a chance at a life beyond the grim expectations that surrounded her.
The class continued with an animated discussion about the complexities of the Servant classes. I described the differences between the combat abilities of Saber and Lancer, and explained how the cunning of an Assassin could turn the tide in risky situations. The room was vibrant with the enthusiasm of the students, each eager to learn more about the world of magic and their role in it.
"Dr. Romani," a timid voice spoke up from the back of the room. It was Gray, my adoptive daughter, her hooded figure barely visible in the shadows of the last seat. "Could you tell us more about the peculiarities of the Saber class?"
I smiled, taking the cue to steer the class into more technical territory. "The Saber class is traditionally considered the strongest among all," I began, drawing a simple diagram on the board. "Its most notable characteristic is the balance between attack and defense, in addition to a natural resistance to magic that..."
Ring*
The bell rang loudly, signaling the end of the class. "Class dismissed," I announced quickly. "Please proceed to your dormitories following the Chaldea protocol."
As the students rose in an organized confusion, my eyes met Luvia's. There was concern in her gaze, but also determination and much hidden love. She knew that we could not show our relationship more openly. Though deep down, I wouldn't mind making it clear that she was mine in every aspect. After all, Artoria was the first to know my desire to conquer. Which led to her response: "My devilish husband is corrupting new maidens." She said while watching him shake his delicious breasts.
"Mash," I called, seeing her hesitate near the door. "Come with me. We need to check your vital signs in a stress situation."
It was an excuse, of course. I wanted to keep her close, protected. The future I knew was beginning to unfold, and every decision I made now could alter its course in unpredictable ways.
"Dr. Romani," she began hesitantly, "thank you for making all this seem... normal. For a moment, I felt like any other student, without worrying about what I am or will be."
I smiled, setting aside my papers. "Mash, believe me, there is nothing more important to me than ensuring you have the chance to live each day to the fullest. Every class, every conversation we have is a step to challenge the fate that was written for you."
She nodded, a glimmer of determination in her eyes. "I want to learn more. I want to be ready for whatever comes, and I want to make a difference, not just as a Demi-Servant, but as Mash Kyrielight."
"We'll do this together," I promised, feeling an unshakeable resolution springing up within me. Mash's determination to transcend her fate inspired me to double my efforts in my own role. We were not just training a future Master; we were giving life to a new story, a narrative that she could claim as her own, free from the shadows of the past.
