Rising up from a Nobleman to Intergalactic Warlord!!-Chapter 193
---Two Days Later--- freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
As I wrapped up final preparations for the invasion of Solemnace, my wives and Samus approached me to say they were heading out to do some bounty hunting. Looking at Samus with a confused expression, I inquired if she had changed her mind about accompanying me today. Nodding her head, she apologized and informed me she had received a message from the association late last night about her formal complaint.
“Apparently, they have finished reviewing everything and want me to come in to discuss compensation.”, Samus said, genuinely surprised that things had progressed so quickly. “I managed to convince your wives to take me there under the condition I give them a few lessons in hand-to-hand combat and piloting starships.”
“Yeah, someone else was supposed to do it, but they made it impossible for us to walk around properly for a few days.”, Deirdre giggled, giving me a wink. “We will let you off the hook this time, but we expect to be compensated accordingly. How about a staycation or visiting a vacation world?”
“The invasion of Cadia is in three weeks, and I suspect that the Imperium of Man will need you when the Tyranid Fleet arrives in the Orpheus Sector in six weeks.”, Ionica commented, twiddling her thumbs. “You will be quite busy here soon, so we would appreciate a bit of your time beforehand. I will be there right alongside you, but I cannot bring myself to act lovey-dovey in front of my subordinates. It is too embarrassing!”
Amused by her cute reaction, I agreed to book a two-week vacation on a pleasure world following the completion of this invasion. Remarking that this would likely be the last vacation before the babies arrived, I strongly recommended everyone make the most of it. Once they were born, it would be staycations at our private residences until they were four or five years of age. Understanding that taking newborns on vacation was ill-advised, my younger wives asked why we would have to wait so long before going again.
“Angelica, Clarice, and Deirdre, you have my utmost apologies for misleading you during your training. Childbirth and rearing are not as fantastical as your teachers or I told you.”, Mylene said, bowing her head to them. “While things will be easier for us than most, as we have an intelligent, loving husband, it does not mean there won’t be trials and tribulations. As you carry the child, you experience severe mood swings, suffer sudden weight gain, and have weird food cravings that will change with every pregnancy you have. After childbirth, your body will undergo many changes that will make you hate your appearance. I struggled with that for years after birthing Julius…”
“We know; our families told us all about the hardships they went through.”, Clarice stated, recalling her father’s words. “From long, sleepless nights to constantly changing diapers, we have heard it all. Other than worrying about the physical changes to our bodies, everything else will pass in a few months.”
“Even then, Victor can likely figure something out to rejuvenate our bodies after childbirth.”, Angelica commented, turning to me with a hopeful gaze.
Before I could give her an answer, Isha and Loki started to laugh uncontrollably. Arguing that they could not comprehend what motherhood was like until they went through it themselves, the two goddesses shared their own experiences with them.
“When I was carrying my darling Lileath, I suffered from terrible back pains and swollen ankles. No amount of healing power or sleep could alleviate the pain; only the few, brief massages I received did anything.”, Isha commented, cursing Lileath’s father under her breath. “I requested assistance from my partner on many occasions, but he refused to cancel or delay his hunts. Though Gea did help me on occasion, she spent most of her time getting plowed by Asuryan and Khaine to help me regularly.”
“Ha, you call that troublesome. At least you had someone partially there to help you; my family was next to useless when it came to my children.”, Loki scoffed, disappointed with them. “In my case, I suffered terribly with migraines and swollen, tender breasts for most of my pregnancy. Once my brats were born, constantly having to breastfeed them took a painful toll on my already battered body. They sucked most of the nutrients right out of my body, and then when they started teething, it felt like my poor nipples were going to be cut off! All that said, though, I love my darling children dearly… just not when they were infants.”
“To be fair, Loki, you birthed an Asgardian, Dragon, and Wolf, so your circumstances were quite unique.”, Balder commented, sipping on a cold mug of ale. “Karnilla has brought me five beautiful children, and we did not have any major issues. Lady Sif only had minor heartburn during her pregnancies with Thor’s three children. Stop trying to dissuade the ladies from having children with Victor.”
“You tell them, Balder. Just because Isha and Loki chose terrible partners to have children with does not mean these women will have the same experiences.”, Cegorach snickered, refilling his cup of espresso. “These ladies took the time to properly vet Victor to ensure he was up to par. If only our sisters had their level of foresight and wisdom in their youth.”
Feeling the hair on the back of his neck stand on end, Balder looked back at the Laughing God with utter disbelief. Unsure why Cegorach enjoyed pressing people’s buttons to elicit violent reactions, all he was certain of was that he wanted no part of it.
“Wait! Wait!! WAIT!!!”, Balder shrieked, turning back to plead his case, “I do not agree with or condone what this fool has said. Please have mercy on- “
Whipping their heads around, neither goddess cared to listen to his words. Blasting them both with powerful psychic and magical blasts, respectively, the two men were launched out of our large viewing window and over the edge of the island. Hearing Balder scream like a little girl as they plummeted toward the ocean below, Cegorach laughed like a madman, shouting that it was worth it. Returning their attention back to us, they cleared their throats and pretended like nothing had just happened.
“Getting back to our initial discussion, are you certain this is not a carefully laid trap by the Dahl Corporation? While I trust the association to do right by its contractors, this whole thing could be a ploy to lure you in so they can kill you.”, I remarked, tapping into my knowledge of Borderland lore. “The Atlas, Jacobs, and Torgue Corporations are the only multi-conglomerate companies I would ever trust to not screw you over. Every other major player in the weapon's manufacturing business is a coldhearted, ruthless machine.”
“While I do agree with you that most are absolute scum, I am confident that Dahl would not do anything rash on such a densely populated space station.”, Samus chuckled, dismissing my concerns. “Do not worry, I will make your precious wives return home safe and sound tonight. I am more than ready to deal with anything those bastards could possibly throw at us.”
Pretending to accept her answer, I backed off and wished all of them the best of luck. Sending my wives off with a kiss on the lips, they teleported onto Yamato and set out immediately for the Artemis Space Station.
“Luxion, dispatch a contingent of the newly completed Doombots to the Artemis Space Station. I know Samus and my wives are more than capable of defending themselves, but I would not put it past Dahl to wipe out an entire space station just to cover their tracks. In fact, it would not surprise me in the least if they have already wiped the association’s servers clean of Samus’ complaint already.”, I said, wanting to be safe rather than sorry.
<Understood, Master. Organizing transportation for the Doombots now.> (Luxion)
Thanking my AI friend, I kissed Lucoa, Mylene, and Serana on the lips before bidding farewell to them. Wishing us the best of luck, they demand I come back safe and sound to them. Promising to do so, we picked up the floundering Balder and Cegorach before heading out to our rally point, the Craftworld of Alaitoc.
---3rd Person POV, Immaterium---
Standing over the withered corpse that was the Chaos God Nurgle, Khorne and Tzeentch realized for the first time that they had been a terrible mistake. Treating Victor like any other piece on the game board in the beginning, he had quickly established himself as one of the most prominent leaders within the Imperium of Man. Armed with powerful technology from distant shores and brimming with unyielding determination, in just a few short months he had turned the Imperium’s grave situation around almost completely. All the improvements he had implemented were beginning to take hold, which was causing their food supply to slowly dwindle day by day. Realizing now that they should have treated him as a genuine threat from day one, they were beginning to realize it might be too late to stop him now.
<What are we going to do? Nurgle is days away from death, and Slaanesh refuses to engage in another fight with our enemy.> (Tzeentch)
<You stubborn bitch, we are slowly losing power like the Aeldari Pantheon before us. If we do not act now, all of us are going to end up like this tub of lard.> (Khorne)
<I frankly do not give a shit about any of you or the Great Game anymore. My one and only goal now is to become Victor’s baby mama. Everything else beyond that can fuck off, hehe!> (Slaanesh)
Irritated by how she had been acting since her defeat at his hands, the two Chaos Gods gave up on convincing Slaanesh to act. Left with only their two forces, as Nurgle and Slaanesh’s daemons had mostly gone feral, they began to argue over how to best proceed. The Blood God felt that an all-out, frontal assault on the Imperium was their best option, while the Lord of Change believed they should hunker down and wait for the enemy to come to them. Calling each other a fool and coward, respectively, the two deities quickly went from arguing to assaulting each other. Watching them tear Nurgle’s Garden apart while scaring away the nearby daemons, the Dark Prince of Pleasure knew their reign was coming to an end.
<Guess it is time to start thinking about how to convince the future father of my unborn children to take me into his harem. Maybe offering him a few curvaceous Aeldari women or that dusty Cronesword that I keep in my throne room would do the trick.> (Slaanesh)
“Forgive me for interrupting you, my lady; I bring ill tidings from the fringes of your territory.”, Kanathara spoke, lowering his head respectfully to his mistress. “We have sustained several more losses at the fringes of your territory. Those invaders with the glowing orange eyes and the strange purple aura are the ones responsible for it.”
<I already sent Fulgrim and his men to deal with it, consider the problem resolved. Moving along, how many children do you think I should have with my beloved Victor? I was thinking of starting with a thousand, but I honestly want more. Is that too much?> (Slaanesh)
Realizing that his mistress did not care about the unknown invaders anymore, he let out a frustrated sigh and told her that a thousand was a good starting number. Disregarding the fight happening before her, the Dark Prince of Pleasure proceeded to ask the Greater Daemon’s opinion on the list of names she had prepared years ago.
