Rogue Villain-Chapter 406: Epic
Naraka, Hayut, and the few other gods who had come to convince Ackster to leave Millmeria with force if necessary exchanged glances before lining up next to Yillister and facing off against the Tortoise King.
Ackster made popcorn for everyone. He also brought the Wilma, Shanshi, and Kargas up next to them so that they could also enjoy the epic clash between an army of gods and angels and one great mythical beast.
Ackster was tired of fighting after the last decade, and especially after his last few fights. The fight between the Tortoise King and the Celestial Realm’s army also wasn’t that exciting compared to his own battles.
But the flashing lights, the mighty roars, and the overall atmosphere gave the clash a dramatic flair that Ackster hadn’t felt during his own battles. But that could have been because he was too busy fighting for his life.
Still, Ackster wasn’t interested in something that might destroy the world he had fought so hard to save, so he reinforced the stage. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
Ackster had to admit that he was getting curious about the strength and the powers he had acquired following the battle with the Observer. At first, he couldn’t be bothered to even think about it since he was past caring about his strength and the full scope of his abilities. But his current capabilities were too convenient to just be the side effects of becoming a god.
He went from a human to a Demigod if his guess about the black boxes on his Nomi were true. After refining world power into his Ichor and defeating a god that saw the gods of Millmeria as fakes, it was only a natural step for him to become a god. He was definitely at least as strong as one, even without Limitless.
But being simply strong wouldn’t explain everything he felt he could do or the red color in his Ichor that reminded him of something else.
"So, how’s everyone been?"
Although Ackster’s party was interested in the battle, he couldn’t help but notice that they were distracted. Distracted wasn’t the right word. They just couldn’t focus on the Tortoise King’s fight with the same intensity as Mastrax when their party leader, who had saved the world and become a god was sitting right next to them like nothing had happened.
"Good." Kargas’ answer was simple. Since Mio and Anatol had said Ackster was fine, he didn’t have anything to worry about. He also recovered pretty quickly, thanks to Mastrax. And when Ackster was recovering, he aided the Land of Dragons’ recovery after The Calamity and the Observer stopped by.
"Uhu, yup. Same."
Shanshi had been a little worried about his death when the world was about to collapse due to the Observer. But other than that, he had been confident he would survive. And if Ackster died, he would be free. It was almost a win-win situation for him, so he had taken it easy with his descendants and played around.
"Worried, My lord."
Mara was honest. Even with Mio’s and Anatol’s words about the Creator saving Ackster, she couldn’t rest easy. In the first place, who was the Creator? Some schmuck who was supposed to be dead, no? There was no way she could willingly entrust the life of her liege to someone like that.
She hadn’t left the spot where Ackster dropped to the ground after his battle with the Observer for a moment. Digging was futile. But that didn’t mean she hadn’t looked for Ackster.
"I was confident you would come back. You always, do, after all."
Karandiel’s voice was light as she lied. She didn’t feel like telling Ackster she had been just as worried as Mara. She hadn’t left the spot of his fall, either.
"Busy. You might have saved the world, but it was a fucking mess trying to fix it after the wreck you left it in."
Wilma grumbled. She had a high position in the Adventurer’s Guild. It was an organization that spanned the world. On the surface, it was in charge of beast and monster extermination, as well as facilitating trade between countries. Below the surface, the Guild did a lot more than that, including peace-keeping endeavors.
The One Outside Time wasn’t going to just sit by when the world was on the brink of societal ruin. Besides, there was a lot of money and connections to be made.
If the Guild played its cards right, it would become the number one superpower in the world.
Wilma, as the only Guild employee with contact with the god who had saved the world, had been worked to the bone.
"I’ll try to be more careful next time."
Ackster flashed a smile.
"Please don’t say that."
The implications of those words weren’t something Wilma wanted to imagine. She didn’t want another incident where something powerful enough to force Ackster to go all out came to Millmeria.
Ackster shrugged. Maybe he should be more careful with his words. But at the same time, what’s the harm in a little joke? Wilma seemed to have understood why he did what he did. She wasn’t sure about the details, but Kargas had been a great help in Ackster’s journey and battle to defeat The Hero. Kargas’ connections with the Land of Dragons had also been crucial in preparing the band-aid for the world’s barrier.
But Wilma wanted to hear it straight from Ackster, including why he couldn’t say anything. However, now wasn’t the time for deep conversations that would decide the future of their relationship.
Ackster glanced at Mastrax.
He didn’t even need an answer to know that the old dragon had been doing more than fine. And now that his toy was complete, there was nothing that could dampen Mastrax’s spirits.
That left only one person.
The black-haired beauty with an otherworldly devious charm who sat right next to him.
Anatolmerievzka.
Ackster thought he had set her free. But it seemed she had willingly maintained part of her seal so that she could stay on Millmeria without causing harm. But if her appearance and proximity to Ackster were any indication, it wasn’t just because she longed for the mortal world.
Ackster looked at the demon.
"I’ve made you wait."
