Rose Manor: Tycoon's Relentless Chase-Chapter 354 - 332: Don’t Think It’ll Be Easy (Part 2)
"Shuyao." Before she could finish speaking, Shen Jianian interrupted, her calm expression tinged with a hint of difficulty and impatience, "I never meddle in business affairs, nor do I understand them. As you can see, my job involves the symphony orchestra, I’m afraid I can’t help you with that."
Yin Shuyao released the grip on the cup’s handle, placing her hand under the table, nails digging into her palm, her face a bit grim, though she tried hard to disguise it.
"I’ve inquired, there’s a project under Jun Mountain called Yuelong Bay that’s about to start, requiring a large amount of building materials. Rest assured, our factory’s products are of quality, all you need is to mention it to the project leader. With your status, they will definitely give you face and won’t refuse."
Shen Jianian claimed she didn’t understand, so Yin Shuyao gave her a suggestion.
Shen Jianian turned her words over in her mind several times, gradually savoring the deeper meaning, feeling incredulous, her facial expression changing: "Are you suggesting that I bypass Fu Jichen and contact the project leader directly?"
With her intention directly pointed out, the guilt reflected on Yin Shuyao’s face, her expression awkward. Fu Jichen’s attitude when he last saw her was so unfeeling, clearly indicating he wouldn’t help the Yin Family. If Shen Jianian could sway him with pillow talk, even better, if not, the best way was for Shen Jianian to directly approach the project leader.
The face of the president’s wife, those people always have to respect. Besides, no matter whose building materials are used, under the same quality, others can get the deal through connections.
Shen Jianian’s gaze gradually turned cold, having nothing more to say to Yin Shuyao.
She was no longer the cousin she knew; although she looked pitiful, her words were filled with calculation. She just couldn’t remember the past, not because she was stupid.
Just at that moment, the phone in her hand buzzed, Shen Jianian glanced at the screen, it was a call from Xiao Zheng.
Shen Jianian usually took a car back at this hour, but she was late today. Xiao Zheng thought something had delayed her and waited a while longer in the car.
Twenty minutes passed, still not seeing her, Xiao Zheng got out of the car and went into the studio to ask the front desk, only to be told that Shen Jianian had left long ago.
Upon answering the phone, Shen Jianian heard an anxious voice asking where she was, she replied, "Nothing’s wrong, I’m just sitting at a café in the park, I’ll be right over."
After hanging up, Shen Jianian looked up across the table, not agreeing to the request Yin Shuyao made: "My driver is waiting for me, I’ll be leaving now."
Shen Jianian didn’t say "goodbye," she put her phone in her bag, stood up, pushed aside the chair behind her, slung her cello over her shoulder, picked up her satchel, and left the café.
Yin Shuyao chased after her, unsure if she would have another opportunity to see Shen Jianian, her voice was urgent: "Jianian, are you really going to stand by and do nothing? We are your family."
Shen Jianian paused for a moment but didn’t turn around.
Taking advantage of the pause, Yin Shuyao circled in front of her, blocking her path.
Shen Jianian furrowed her brows slightly upon hearing Yin Shuyao’s emotionally charged reproach: "Why have you become so heartless, Jianian, when family is in trouble and you obviously have the ability to help, a mere word from you could settle it, why won’t you help?"
As Yin Shuyao’s words fell, the surrounding air seemed to freeze.
In the late summer evening, the sunset was still stunningly brilliant as they walked out of the café, the heatwaves falling on their skin like tiny sparks.
For a moment, Yin Shuyao’s reproach echoed in Shen Jianian’s ears, as if she found it unbelievable, or as if she had heard a joke, a faint smile emerged on her lips.
"You say, when family is in trouble, it’s only natural to help?"
Yin Shuyao looked at her, not understanding why she was repeating her statement, but she still nodded, "Is there anything wrong with what I said? Jianian, as long as you step in, you can surely help us out of this predicament, we would be grateful."
Shen Jianian countered, "As far as I know, when my parents passed away, and the family encountered a crisis, you seemingly didn’t offer any help, but rather schemed against me, is that right?"
Although Fu Jichen hadn’t detailed how they schemed against her, his words couldn’t be wrong.
Yin Shuyao’s face instantly turned pale, she moved her lips, speechless. Did Fu Jichen tell her about those things? Did he tell her everything?
Xiao Zheng came out from the studio, following Shen Jianian’s directions, found the café, and saw her from afar, talking to a woman.
Yin Shuyao noticed Xiao Zheng first and recognized him as Shen Jianian’s driver, not daring to say more, she quickly lowered her head and turned around, leaving in another direction.
Xiao Zheng approached Shen Jianian from behind, calling her name.
Shen Jianian withdrew her gaze from Yin Shuyao’s retreating figure, turned her head to glance at Xiao Zheng.
Xiao Zheng asked in confusion, looking in the direction the woman had left; "Who was that..."
"My cousin, she had something to discuss with me." Shen Jianian casually replied, "Let’s go."
Xiao Zheng carried her cello case, walking down the café steps with her, heading toward the parking area.

Back home, Yin Shuyao was fuming, sweeping everything from the table onto the floor, causing a noisy commotion that startled Yin Chengde and Hu Yuzhi in the room.
"What happened? What’s going on?" Hu Yuzhi hastily pulled open the door, seeing the mess, she frowned slightly, "Why such a big temper?"
Yin Chengde followed up with a question, "Did you see Shen Jianian today?"
Yin Shuyao bit her lip, her eyes filled with anger and resentment: "Don’t ask me to find Shen Jianian again, she won’t help us at all! Going there is just asking for humiliation!"
After hearing his daughter recount the entire meeting with Shen Jianian, Yin Chengde irritably lit a cigarette, taking a deep drag, squinting his eyes, his demeanor sinister: "If she won’t make things easy for us, she shouldn’t expect things to be easy for her. Does she think the man she married is a good person? What if she finds out..."
"Dad, what did you say?"
Yin Chengde, with the cigarette dangling from his mouth, mumbled his words unclearly, and Yin Shuyao didn’t catch the latter part, straightening up to ask.
