Run Away After Flirting: Get Lost, Mr. Attorney!-Chapter 131: Thunderbolt on a Sunny Day—We’ve Slept Together Many Times Already!
Last night I took advantage of him? Summer Nolan struggled to recall, but she had no memory of last night. She sat up, pulled the blanket over her chest, and snorted coldly,
"How do I know if what you’re saying is true?"
Elias Spencer sat up, grabbed a pack of cigarettes from the nightstand, pulled one out, lit it, and lazily leaned against the bedhead, taking a puff, he asked in a deep voice,
"So you take advantage of me and don’t admit it?"
"Did you forget you got drunk and insisted on coming to my bed?"
Summer frowned, snorting, "Even if I did come to the master bedroom voluntarily, you knew to go to the guest room last time, why didn’t you go to the guest room this time? I think you did it on purpose!"
Elias took another puff of his cigarette, his tone low and casual, "This is my bedroom, why should I give it to you?"
"Let’s just pretend nothing happened last night." She said in a deep voice, then pulled the towel from the foot of the bed, wrapped it around herself, and was about to get out of bed when he yanked her back with his long arm. He asked,
"What do you take me for? Sleep when you want, toss me away when you don’t?" 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"You’re not at a loss, what more do you want?" She flung off the hand he was holding.
"Take responsibility for me." Elias called out to her in a deep voice.
"I remember you, Attorney Spencer, said yesterday that you wanted to make it happen with Ian Sterling and me. Besides, you should care about your assistant, too." She said with a smile.
Sure enough, she was jealous and that’s why she was angry. Trying to explain things to her wouldn’t work, and Elias didn’t know what to do with her.
"Let go, I need to go to the bathroom..." Summer pried at his hand holding hers, and he let go.
She got out of bed and walked to his master bedroom wardrobe. Last time, he had hung the clothes bought on the cruise here. She just grabbed a black long dress from inside and took a new set of underwear into the bathroom to change.
On the nightstand, her phone screen suddenly vibrated. Elias picked it up and glanced at it; it was Ian Sterling.
He glanced toward the bathroom, then got out of bed, casually put on a robe, went to the living room, and answered the phone for her—
"Summer, are you feeling better today?" Ian asked with concern, having called and texted her last night without any reply.
Elias took a drag of his cigarette, and unhurriedly said to him,
"We just got up. She’s fine, by the way—sorry for not replying to you last night; we were... busy in bed then."
Hearing what he said was like being struck by lightning for Ian, his face stiffened. Did they sleep together last night?
"You took advantage of her?!"
"Since she joined my law firm, we’ve slept together many times. Last night wasn’t the first time; in the tourist area a few days ago, we slept together every night and even had a go during the day.
If you don’t believe it, you can ask her yourself." Elias deliberately said to him.
"..." Every word he said hit Ian like a massive stone, weighing down his heart.
He always thought he had hope, that she was giving him hope. She had even agreed to be friends for half a year before getting together with him!!
Why did she lie to me?
Elias saw that he couldn’t say a word for a long time and knew that this time Ian was surely hit hard. Now, he should give up, right?
"Considering your status and background, Young Master Sterling, if you become our third wheel, it might be laughable if it gets out."
Ian’s heart twisted upon hearing this, his words stabbed into his heart like a needle. He really liked this woman.
He had never fought so hard for a woman before.
To think she was deceiving him, sleeping with Elias while staying so close to him... He immediately hung up the phone, his mood reaching rock bottom.
He originally wanted to tell her that last night, Mr. and Mrs. Spencer were actually Elias’s parents, but now he’s the joke.
Elias hung up the phone, tossed the phone on the sofa, and looked down at Elias sitting by his feet, whining. He went to feed it first.
Then, he went to the bathroom. Summer was brushing her teeth, she turned her head to glance at him and then moved aside without a word.
"After breakfast, why don’t we take Elias out for a walk? It’s been so long since you’ve kept it company. It’s almost depressed." Elias said calmly while grabbing a toothbrush cup.
He didn’t mention answering Ian’s call earlier, not wanting to spoil the current atmosphere.
Summer looked at him, indeed she should spend some time with Elias. After rinsing her mouth, she said, "I’ll take it out myself. You should go to the hospital to look after your assistant, don’t follow us."
"We’re just in a superior-subordinate relationship, stop being so jealous." Elias explained to her again.
"Whatever relationship you two have, it has nothing to do with me," she said.
Elias glanced at her, too lazy to explain further. Anyway, she no longer had a backup plan, and no one was competing against him now. He had all the time to win her over—
But, why isn’t she pregnant yet?
They’ve done it so many times!
His eyes involuntarily swept over her flat stomach. Maybe they hadn’t done it enough times? The revolution hasn’t succeeded yet, seems like more effort is needed.
Summer unexpectedly saw his scheming look in the mirror, and his eyes were on her belly, which creeped her out. Was this dog man scheming against her again?
"What are you looking at?"
"Nothing." Elias responded perfunctorily.
In the park.
As soon as they got out of the car, Elias grabbed her hand, holding the leash with one hand and pulling her into the park with the other.
"Attorney Spencer, please have some self-respect, we’re not a couple. Isn’t being this close inappropriate?" He wants to come along, let him, but why drag her along?
Summer shook off his hand.
"We’ve slept together so many times. Stop being fussy, let’s go." He pulled her into the park, and Summer couldn’t break free from his grasp, secretly annoyed.
When they arrived at the usual lawn, there were not many tourists here. Those who came were walking their dogs. Elias released the leash, took out a frisbee, and threw it into the air, calling out to Elias:
"Elias, go catch it..."
The dog only turned its head to look in the direction of the frisbee but didn’t go after it.
Summer looked at the dog standing silently beside her, neither running nor jumping, feeling a bit peculiar. It used to love fetching the frisbee.
She went over, patted its head and asked, "What’s wrong? Are you unhappy? Did you gain weight and can’t run anymore?"
This guy indeed got a lot fatter, especially its belly, round as a ball. Summer reached out and touched its belly, which felt bulging. She turned back to ask:
"Did you feed it too much, why is its belly so big?"
"I fed it the usual amount, and it gets enough exercise. The servant takes it out twice every day." Elias went over and squeezed its belly, as if there was something inside, it even moved a little.
"Maybe we should take it to the vet for a check-up. Could it be... a tumor in its belly?"
He frowned as he guessed. Although in the past he didn’t like dogs, after two years of living together, he had come to see Elias as a daughter.
Its clothes, snacks, toys, filled up a whole room, and he even set up a pet room just for it, complete with its own sofa, bed, TV, and other things. If he didn’t love it, why would he have prepared so much for it?
