Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 324 - 261: Missing
"Guess the Saintess is doing better than us," someone said as they looked at Aurianna who heartily ate the food given to her making them very annoyed. And Hadina was by her side feeding her more food.
Beside her was Jade, Avriel, Zagan, Jugi and Dielle who was slowly chewing his sandwich and Deprixon whose head was on the table as he used his tongue to pick noodles off his plate. Seeing his face, one could tell that chewing was painful to him.
Aurianna couldn’t help but laugh.
"To think even High Humans, Chaos Humans and Arc Humans can’t survive there, no wonder it’s called the forbidden forest!" Someone said.
"Princess, I feel dead," Yui complained as she walked towards Aurianna. She was using part of a tree branch to hold herself up.
"Yui is a good maid isn’t she?" Aurianna said inside her head.
"Yes, she was able to easily adapt to her new surroundings," Eva responded in agreement.
"Princess please allow me to be healed by sleeping on your thighs," Yui pleaded.
"No!!" Aurianna squinted at her, annoyed at her request.
Yui started sniffling, "But Princess you abandoned me in the forest and now you won’t even help my recovery!? You don’t care about me!"
Aurianna just rolled her eyes, "Just have dinner and rest, you have no injuries, only mental strain due to being killed many times. It’s better to sleep and rejuvenate the mind. Even my magic can’t fix this."
"I realized one thing after today’s battle with you..."
Aurianna turned to Deprixon, whose face still was flat on the table, leaving Yui on her own to cry.
"What did you realize?" She asked him.
Deprixon raised his head, fury written on his face, "You’re terrible at team fights! You almost shot me several times!"
Aurianna swiped her hand dismissively, "Says who? You were just in the way of my bullets. And I killed most of the monsters."
Deprixon wanted to say more about her terrible contribution but stayed silent.
He thought to himself, ’She did save me technically... Just wish I didn’t have to feel like I was dealing with two enemies instead of one enemy and an ally...’
He released a tired sigh as his head slumped back down to the table.
"So, what kind of weapon is that anyway?" Deprixon asked curiously. He’d never seen or heard of a class that fought with using a projectile like it.
"Hah, it’s a gun," Aurianna blurted out materializing her revolver. "Think of the item like a bow and the concentrated magic that shoots out of it being an arrow. It functions the same way as any other ranged weapon really," Aurianna explained.
Deprixon grumbled, "Well that gun of yours may be powerful, but you have no idea how to use it well when fighting with with a partner! What’s more, you fight like a maniac!"
Aurianna scoffed, "Me a maniac? I should rather be complaining about how you fight. You fight as though you don’t want the monster’s blood to touch you. Like, you literally use a hammer! It’s shocking how you neatly kill monsters. And that’s what also leads you to die several times."
"At least I prefer to be neat, unlike someone who just causes messes."
"Yeah? Well at least I killed more monsters than you."
While the two were having their back and forth many just watched in silence, including Dielle who surprisingly was able to finish his sandwich. Mostly everyone watching the two’s exchange came to the same conclusion, Aurianna even though she was powerful was in the wrong.
What kind of teammate hits their own side! No one voiced that thought however, realizing it would be pointless. After her answers it was clear she was a "the ends justify the means" type.
Deprixon sighed, conceding the argument, "Yeah, well next time we have to plan how we should fight."
She tilted her head, "And who’s we? Today was just a coincidence and we ended up in the same place after every teleportation. We won’t fight together again." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"And I say we will," Deprixon stated as he slowly raised his head from the table once more.
"Even if we did end up together I refuse to fight with you. Who’s gonna make me?" Aurianna asked smugly
"Well I support this," Dielle said suddenly.
She turned to him with a confused expression. She’d almost forgot he was there, from how quiet he was being. Also his agreeing with Deprixon threw her off as well.
Aurianna gave him a stubborn look.
"This is good." Dielle continued, "If everyone forms teams when they fight it would be easier to kill these monsters. Moreover, if the same people get in a terrible situation they would know how each other would handle it. Making teamwork and cooperation better."
With that last bit mentioning cooperation Deprixon shot a glare Aurianna’s way.
She ignored his look, looking at Dielle intently, "Well what if they’re alone?"
"I’m not saying to only team up, solo combat training is also important. But teamwork would be helpful."
"I think it’s a good idea," Deprixon voiced."We should do this tomorrow though, I’m beat today," He slowly rose from the table and left.
"Aurianna can I study your revolver?" Jade asked curiously.
"Ofcourse," Aurianna stated handing him the revolver.
"Whay is it made of?" Jade asked curiously.
"My bones," Aurianna said calmly.
"I see, that’s amazing. And your bones are stronger than I imagined and it conducts mana very well," Jade said tracing his hands on it.
"I’m going to study it," He said getting up.
"Alright, you can keep it," Aurianna said before Jade walked away.
"I’m totes gonna accompany Jade!" Avriel said getting up as well and following behind.
"Avriel you can’t disturb Jade!" Jugi blurted out chasing after Avriel.
"Master," Zagan purred as he rubbed his head in Aurianna’s palms.
Aurianna rose as well and carried Zagan in her arms. Without another word the two started to walk away.
"Aurianna, do you think everyone can go on like this?" Dielle asked.
She stopped, hearing his concern. "Don’t worry, after a few months we’ll probably be used to it." She turned, a shrewd grin plastered on her face, "I bet by now the people of Sandeph are freaking out about our disappearance."
_______________
What Aurianna said was right. The people in Sandeph were freaking out since their injuries couldn’t be healed by the healers. And asking for a healer from another nation, or Kingdom was impossible since those healers took high payment. What’s more, most of the surrounding countries are hostile to those in a foreign country.
In the throne room, King Girsal sat there with a frown on his face as four men and two women were gathered around him. They seemed to be discussing something, having serious expressions.
"Where the hell have those bastards run off to?!" King Girsal yelled as he stomped his feet, causing a crack on the ground.
"I have no idea your Majesty and it seems that the spies we sent have disappeared without a trace. I couldn’t even track the soul orbs I placed in them," Duke Melissa stated. She was a young woman with short blonde hair and a pair of deep blue eyes. Her beautiful brown skin contrasted the red suit she was wearing, which revealed some of her curves.
"Were they kidnapped?" King Girsal asked.
Melissa frowned, "It could be a possibility but I’m not sure it’s likely."
"As soon as the Saintess arrived they all disappeared," Advisor Chu added.
Advisor Chu was a tall olive skinned man with dark black hair that reached down to his shoulders. He had a pair of purple eyes covered by glasses and wore a high quality white suit.
"Were they killed then?" King Girsal asked.
"That sounds more plausible than kidnapping since they can’t be tracked but there were no signs of blood," Advisor Chu responded.
"If they kill the healers then it means that they are trying to cause problems between our country and the church of Paige," King Girsal held his head releasing a frustrated sigh.
"Your Majesty, I found out that before the disappearance of the healers a few of them were seen buying slaves," Duke Antya a fair woman with short light blue hair and a pair of orange eyes interjected. She wore a black dress that reached her knee with a pair of black heels. She held her fan in front of her face as she spoke.
King Girsal gave her a confused look, "What would healers need slaves for?"
"I heard that it was for the Saintess, since she was known for killing a lot of her servants," Duke Huns, who was a general for King Girsal’s army, answered. He appeared as a middle-aged brown-skinned man, with short pink hair and a bushy pink beard. His bulky and muscular body underneath his suit gave him an air of dominance and strength despite the pretty coloring of his hair.
"But your majesty, who would actually do this? They’re clearly provoking us!!" claimed a fair slim man with long black hair to his waists and a pair of black eyes.
