Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 331 - 268: Potions
His mother, Concubine Momo, was no better equipped to face the court’s malice. She was gentle, painfully shy, shrinking from conflict. Yet King Girsal had loved her in his own quiet way. Vatium could still recall the rare moments his father would sit beside her, speaking softly.
But affection from a king wasn’t protection.
Not in a place like Sandeph.
And then came *the incident*.
A moment of betrayal so profound it tore the last threads of innocence from him. It wasn’t the pain that changed him but the revelation—that mercy in the face of cruelty was not strength. It was an invitation to be crushed, to be forgotten.
He had become the Demon King after that, not through conquest but desperation. The demons, fractured and leaderless after the death of their previous tyrant, had been on the brink of collapse. And he had led them not with fear, but with kindness—believing, in his naivety, that compassion could shape a better world.
For a time, it worked. He taught his people restraint, empathy. To show mercy where none was given before. And for a fleeting moment, the bloodshed slowed. Peace seemed possible.
But the world did not change.
Humans did not change.
The bloodshed never ceased. Despite his efforts, villages and cities burned. Demons were hunted, slaughtered like beasts. Even those who had laid down their weapons—those who had trusted his ideals—were not spared.
Kindness, he had learned, was a lie. A beautiful illusion dangled before the weak to keep them docile. So they retaliated and that’s what lead to Aurianna being attacked and awakening as the Saintess.
"Master?"
Ostusi’s voice was softer this time, almost hesitant.
Vatium opened his eyes, the golden glow of the flames burning before them. His face remained calm, yet the fire behind his gaze burned fiercer than the campfire that crackled before him.
"I’m fine, Ostusi," he repeated, quieter. But the words felt hollow now, echoing back with an emptiness he could no longer deny.
No. There was no changing them.
War. Bloodshed. Chaos.
That was all humanity understood.
And so he made a choice.
He would move his people far away, to the dark lands of Gaias, where the demons could rebuild in isolation, away from human cruelty. And this time he had Aurianna’s help. He still doesn’t know Aurianna has already built her church.
_______
Three weeks had passed since the discussion about making potions had happened and the one under the most pressure was Aurianna. Why? It was because she was the Saintess of course. A being who held the highest kind of buffing ability, as well as being the purest form of magic.
In the alchemy department, 60 huge cauldrons sat on a large wooden table. They were each 8 feet tall and 4 metres wide. . Aurianna huffed and puffed as she buffed different cauldrons with varying buffs. The other healers cheered in complete awe.
"Stop cheering and help me!!" she yelled angrily, turning to them.
In response they simply averted their gaze, some even daring to whistle as if they hadn’t been part of the commotion. The sight caused a vein to pop from her forehead.
"You better help or else I’ll throw you all into the more dangerous part of the forbidden forest!" Aurianna hissed.
The threat and idea of such a thing brought shivers down the spines of all in the room. In an instant they all came forward, starting to help buff each of their respective cauldrons. They knew the right buffs to give due to the label on it, the corner having the signature of Wevein as a proof of verification.
Various medical plants for each potion had to be found , the main ones being found by Wevien. All were then prepared by the Alchemy department and made into elixirs before the buffing process began.
Once that was done, each cauldron of liquid was poured into a unique elixir container. They were labeled with the name of the potion and had a Ger insignia engraved on it. Each of the potions were then placed in a carriage that could levitate due to magic inscriptions. Each carriage was managed directly by five members of the church.
Once everything was prepared each of them were teleported outside the forbidden forest, so their base wouldn’t be discovered. Then they were free to travel wherever they wished, selling the potions at a fair price.
Aurianna looked from above the entrance of the church, a pleased smile on her face spreading across her face. She stood alongside Jugi as they both muttered, "We are going to be rich."
____________
Inside a building with the words Adventurer Guild written on it, a group of people surrounded a table. They were talking, many having worried expressions.
"Have you heard there’s a shop that sells these strange healing potions?" A man whispered, holding a potion bearing a Ger insignia in his hand .
"But aren’t potions either poisonous or not very effective?" A woman asked in a doubtful tone.
"Yes, but this one’s different."
"Unlike the others that are used to poison others, or those that are meant to heal but don’t heal as well as healers directly, this potion can heal a wounded person like how healers do. And you can even gain buffs for a short period of time."
"I even heard that someone’s arm which was eaten by a monster regenerated in perfect condition after drinking one."
"Some can even transform your body to be stronger but it’s a painful process."
"They never enter kingdoms to sell their potions but they would always pass through the outskirts of the kingdom near the dungeons."
"What’s more, I heard each carriage is managed by a healer." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"What, aren’t they afraid of being robbed?" asked a person.
"No! There have been rumors that these healers can fight hand to hand with a C class adventurer!"
"How’s that possible?" A woman asked, shocked.
"Rumors have it that they’re High Humans since they might have a second class," the man holding the potion said, "What’s more all the people who tried to rob them died tragic deaths."
"So how would I identify them, so that I can buy a potion?" A lady asked.
"Well you just need to go to the outskirts of the kingdom where the monsters roam, you’ll see a white floating carriage with a Ger insignia on it. Inside would be five people who wear an oval mask with a Ger symbol on it," the man with the potion explained simply.
"Are they only around Kingdoms?"
"No. They’re all over the continent of Gaias."
