Chapter 386: Chapter 323: Paradox

The ten-eyed Regal sneered, her floating eyes narrowing into slits. "My, my. A gem of the former White Gemaris appearing here?" Despite her words, her mouth was tight, her eyes flickering with unease.

"Why? Afraid?" Opal scoffed, snapping her fingers and a spear appeared in her hands.

"Arrogant bitch!" the ten-eyed Regal snarled. At once, her orbiting eyes spun and released a rain of beams of light arcs.

Opal barely moved, and she got into a defensive stance. As she narrowed her eyes. She turned her head toward Eva. "Can you fight?"

Eva’s lips pulled into a grin despite the blood drying at the corner of her mouth. "Of course I can." With a flick of her wrist, she summoned two futuristic shotguns into her hands and several types of guns appeared around her.

The storm of arcs crashed down upon them. Opal spun her spear swiftly, deflecting the arcs with wide sweeps of her spear, however the land around them was being slashed to pieces.

Eva fired her shotguns rapidly, destroying incoming beams mid-flight, explosions erupting around them.

The six-armed Regal roared, seizing the opening he shot forward, all six fists ready to crush Opal. But she was faster.

Her wings spread wide, her body twisting in mid-air. With a single fluid motion, her spear twirled, intercepting each massive fist. The force of the clash split half of the planet into fragments. Opal’s eyes glowed faintly, and she thrust her spear forward, like a drill. The shockwave blasting the six-armed Regal across the space. His body blew away and crashed into several planets before finally disappearing into the distance.

’Damn these guys are monsters,’ Eva watched with a nervous smile.

Opal didn’t smile, her gaze already locked on the ten-eyed Regal. She surged forward. The Regal’s floating eyes shifted into formation around her, firing at Opal.

But before they could strike Opal, Eva intercepted. She fired a rapid barrage from her shotguns and other guns, each blast exploding against the arcs.

Opal pushed through the explosion undeterred, her wings carrying her closer to the Regal with ten eyes. She raised her spear for a strike but a sudden flash of wings blocked her path. The Winged Regal blocked Opal’s attack with a shield.

How’s that possible, this sword used to be able to cut through Regals. I hate how these bastards are evolving

The winged Regal blocked Opal’s next attacks with her legs and arms. Even without land it was as though they were both standing on solid ground.

"This fight is pointless. Let’s stop. It would only cause unwanted casualties," the winged Regal stated coldly.

"Nope. It’s my duty as a Gem to make sure your race dies. Even in this entire solar system all of its inhabitants were murdered,.so I definitely can’t turn a blind eye. What reason did you have to kill them? You can’t even eat all of them," Opal asked as she was clearly angry.

"We’re simply bored. Why else? And they are simply mortals," the winged Regal shrugged with a calm expression.

"Your exact way of thinking is exactly why I must be sure to kill at least one of you. I can’t make peace with your wretched race," Opal stated coldly, her hand tightening against her spear.

"There’s barely any difference between our two races, and why worry? Mortals reproduce fast," the winged Regal stated.

"If you kill them all what then??" Opal asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Even we aren’t that stupid. Don’t insult my intelligence. You’re getting on my nerves, Gem. But then I’m curious, what makes our two races different before I devour you?" the winged Regal asked with a cold smile.

"Emotions. Every living being is born with emotions, but your entire existence is an empty shell. That’s why you constantly devour others to make yourselves whole. Also, you guys were clearly false creations. Lastly, as the Gem of the Gemaris of peace, it’s my duty!!" Opal stated boldly.

"False creations," the winged Regal scoffs, "Your blasted race keeps saying that, but guess whose race is now at the pinnacle of everything and whose race is almost extinct?" she asked with a grin. Her words clearly got to Opal and she enjoyed watching her glare at her in rage. "Your stupid words are what has really pissed me off now. You all try to act so different and righteous, it pisses me off. Meanwhile, we’re a race that just wants to live," the winged Regal stated with a cold smile.

"Live? What a load of bullshit. Your race is pure evil. There must always be an equal amount of good and evil for everything to be balanced. One cannot be more than the other or else it would spiral into chaos. And also, my race didn’t go around destroying universes, planets, killing races and enslaving them. Your race is an abomination that shouldn’t have been allowed to exist," Opal stated coldly.

"Well that stupid new generation Black Gemaris is doing just that!!" the winged Regal yelled.

"I hear she’s only destroying the area with Regals though. But even if she does that, as long as she gets the power to stop your disgusting race I don’t mind there being casualties," Opal stated.

’Well she’s in for a surprise when she finds out Iris is travelling to other multiverses to devour other Gemaris,’ Eva said nervously as she floated to Opal’s side.

"Let me ask you a question, Regal. What do you think the purpose of your race is?" Opal asked.

"To get stronger," the winged Regal answers without hesitation.

"Are we really indulging her?" the eye Regal asked, clearly annoyed.

"Shut up," the winged Regal stated coldly.

"Once you get stronger then what? If all the Regals finally become the strongest, what happens then?" Opal asked.

"We’d simply conquer other multiverses if the ones in our verse have been conquered and we’d live a good life," stated a young man with an amused voice.

Standing before them was a Regal but in his eyes was rank 2. He stood up to 20 feet tall. Rainbow coloured skin like the others. And has a humanoid form. But he had a large mouth on his chest and six halos floating on him. One on his head. One on each arm and leg and one on his neck. His entire face was covered by a mask except for his eyes.

"Master Paradox," the winged Regal gasped.

"I’m interested in this little chatter you’re having, so I’d like to join in as well," Paradox stated.

"You don’t want to kill them?" the eye Regal asked nervously. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

"No, I’m interested in what this Gem has to say. I mostly kill them without a chat but this is an opportunity for information, and if she’s willing to hand me free information why must I refuse?" Paradox asked.

"So quick question. If all the strongest beings are killed and it’s left with y’all, won’t you start killing each other?" Opal asked nervously.

"Hm. If we think about it that way, fighting amongst ourselves would be inevitable. What’s more, our race lives for nothing more than to fight and kill."

"So basically a path to extinction," Opal chuckled and Paradox stared at her.
