Samsara Tower: Only I Know the Plot!-Chapter 433 - 434: Even Gods Can Bleed!
The trident in Poseidon’s hand was no imitation. It was a true divine artifact.
Infused with immense divine power, it granted its wielder absolute dominion over the seas. Such weapons were unique in the entire DC world.
So when a second trident, one radiating nearly equal might, suddenly appeared before him, Poseidon could not hide his astonishment.
Fenric himself felt a flicker of surprise.
The moment Poseidon revealed his weapon, the trident in Fenric’s hand began to vibrate violently.
No one else could sense it, but Fenric clearly felt the hunger pulsing through his weapon—an insatiable craving for the god’s trident.
It was like a starving predator suddenly catching the scent of tender prey.
"Mortal," Poseidon thundered, his voice filled with authority, "where did you obtain that weapon?"
Fenric’s expression didn’t change. His tone was calm, almost mocking.
"Don’t call me a mere mortal. Such ignorance is unbefitting of a god. As for this weapon... I am the Sea God. Is it not natural for me to hold a trident?"
"This is not a weapon meant for you!" Poseidon’s gaze sharpened, divine majesty rolling off him like crashing waves. "Surrender the trident and accept judgment with piety. Do so, and I may grant you mercy."
The reason he spoke at length was simple—Fenric unsettled him. For the first time in ages, Poseidon felt danger.
Arthur stepped closer and whispered urgently, "That’s the real Sea God, Poseidon!"
Though Arthur had been raised on land, Vulko had taught him the lore of the seas. He had studied Poseidon’s history, and the god’s statues were carved into Atlantis’ very foundations.
Arthur hoped Fenric would tread carefully. To openly provoke a god was madness.
Indeed, from the moment Poseidon appeared, his presence crushed the spirits of everyone present. Atlanna, Mera, and the others turned pale, their knees weak, fear etched on their faces.
Even Arthur—brash, fearless Arthur—felt horror gnaw at his heart.
Fenric, however, only glanced at him in irritation.
Did this fool still not trust him after everything?
Ignoring Arthur, Fenric’s gaze locked on Poseidon, his lips curving into a cold smile.
"I’ll return your words to you. Hand over your trident, accept my judgment, and perhaps I’ll spare your life."
"Impudent!" Poseidon roared. His fury shook the seas. "You dare defy a god!? Your sin is unforgivable!"
His eyes flared, glowing an intense, unearthly blue. Seawater surged around him, swirling faster and faster until it completely engulfed his form.
In mere moments, Poseidon’s figure vanished.
Where he had stood now loomed a towering colossus—a giant of living ocean water shaped in his own image, armed with an immense watery trident.
The sea giant’s appearance blanketed the world in dread. Atlanna and the others could barely stand, their bodies trembling as if compelled to kneel and beg forgiveness.
Only Fenric remained unmoved, his face calm, almost bored.
"Stupid mortal," the giant’s thunderous voice boomed, "perish!"
With a deafening roar, the sea giant raised its colossal trident and brought it crashing down toward Fenric.
The weight of its divine power bore down like the end of days.
Arthur and the others turned ashen. They knew if that strike landed, not only the palace but the entirety of Atlantis would be obliterated.
Fenric simply sighed.
"So dramatic. Do you really think being bigger makes you stronger?"
White mist coiled around his fist, condensing into a mask of destructive energy.
He met the incoming strike head-on, raising his arm.
He drove his fist upward.
Crack—!
The void itself split apart. Cracks spiderwebbed through the sea and sky as if the world itself were shattering.
The giant’s trident exploded into fragments, and with it, one massive arm disintegrated, torn apart by the overwhelming counterforce.
The shockwave rattled Atlantis to its foundations.
Atlanna, Mera, and the others stared in disbelief, terror etched into their faces.
"What... what kind of power is this?" Mera whispered, her voice trembling. "It’s... too terrifying..."
Until now, Fenric had revealed only his dominion over the seas. None of them had expected that the "Sea God" standing before them wielded such devastating destructive might.
In the next instant, Fenric shot forward, moving faster than the eye could follow. The sea giant’s enormous body left no room to evade.
His fist struck its abdomen.
Boom—!
Reality fractured again.
The massive body of the sea giant ruptured, breaking apart into torrents of seawater that crashed uselessly back into the ocean.
From the collapsing giant, a figure stumbled free.
Poseidon.
His face was flushed with rage and pain, blood dripping from the corner of his mouth.
Fenric’s strike hadn’t only destroyed the sea giant—it had ripped through to the god himself, inflicting grievous injury.
If not for Poseidon’s divine resilience, his body would have been torn apart alongside his creation.
Fenric’s lips curled into a mocking smile.
"So it’s true. Gods can bleed."
Poseidon’s fury burned hotter, humiliation twisting his features. "Who are you?!"
"Me?" Fenric smirked. "I am Poseidon."
The words struck Poseidon like a slap. His face darkened, his chest heaving with anger.
You claim to be Poseidon? Then what am I?!
This unknown man hadn’t gone after Zeus or Hades—he had come straight for him, threatening his faith, his very divinity!
(Note: Poseidon, Zeus and Hades are brothers.)
It was intolerable!
Fenric, seeing his silence, only grew colder. "Poseidon, I’ll give you two choices. One—hand over your trident, and I’ll let you crawl away alive. Two—refuse, and I’ll kill you and take it myself."
"Arrogant!" Poseidon roared.
To him, the trident wasn’t just a weapon—it was his godhead, his symbol of dominion.
Without it, how could he still call himself the Sea God?!
"Foolish human! To provoke a god is to invite an eternal curse—you will suffer and die in agony!"
Poseidon spat out his words, but instead of pressing forward, his body recoiled, feet already moving to retreat.
Fenric blinked in mild surprise, then smirked.
This old man actually wants to run?
"You think you can turn your back and flee now?" Fenric’s voice was like ice. "Try it—see if you can escape."
The instant he spoke, Fenric’s mind power surged.
Poseidon felt it immediately. An invisible force clamped down on his body, dragging him backward, straight toward Fenric.
His eyes widened. "What—!?" He desperately channeled divine power, struggling to break free.
But before he could regain control, a blazing palm—wreathed in fiery light—filled his vision.
Fenric had long studied myths of the Greek gods. He knew Poseidon stood among the upper deities, second only to Zeus, king of the gods, and Hades, lord of the underworld. Such beings possessed near-limitless power.
He hadn’t expected his mind power to restrain Poseidon at all.
It wasn’t true control—but even that fleeting hold was enough to halt the god’s escape.
That was all Fenric needed.
While Poseidon strained against the invisible chains, Fenric unleashed a technique he rarely used.
"Buddha Palm!"
The colossal strike roared across the battlefield. Ever since Fenric had gained his destructive tremor ability, this palm had been set aside—its energy cost too high, its practicality too low. But for ranged devastation, nothing compared to it.
The flaming hand crashed into Poseidon before he could react.
The sea god’s body convulsed violently. It felt as though a meteor had slammed into him, threatening to tear him apart from the inside out.
"Arrghhh!"
Poseidon screamed, the sound shattering the ocean around him.
Even as a high god, his resilience unmatched, he had never endured such raw force. Of all the foes Fenric had fought, Poseidon’s durability placed him among the top five—but even so, he was being dismantled.
And Fenric wasn’t finished.
He closed the distance in a blur, his fist sheathed in swirling white energy. From below, he drove it upward with unyielding force.
Crack—!
The blow smashed into Poseidon’s chin. Bone splintered. His scream cut short as his jaw shattered.
The impact hurled him skyward, blasting him out of the ocean like a ragdoll.
Fenric gave chase without hesitation. The trident is still in his hands. He won’t let him go.
The seas themselves bent to his will, propelling him after the fleeing god.
"..."
Far below, the Atlanteans could only stare, dumbfounded.
They had just watched their ancient patron, Poseidon—the Sea God who had ruled their faith for millennia—beaten senseless, battered like a child’s toy.
The one they had feared would punish them for their betrayal was being dismantled before their eyes.
The new Sea God was not merely powerful. He was terrifying.
Their awe was mingled with disbelief, as if the very foundation of their world had been overturned.
In the royal palace, Arthur clenched his fists. "I’m going to see this through!" He shot upward, breaking for the surface.
Mera and Atlanna exchanged a glance before following. Vulko and Nereus soon raced behind.
This was no ordinary clash—it was the war between the old god and the new. The outcome would decide the fate of the oceans themselves!
—---
Above the waves, Poseidon managed to steady himself.
His entire body ached; no part was free of pain. His shattered jaw throbbed so viciously he could barely open his mouth.
Damn it... all the bones... broken...
Clutching his weapon, he summoned divine power to force his injuries to knit, though slowly, painfully.
"Poseidon," came a lazy, mocking voice from behind. "Don’t think the battle is over yet."
The words struck like a thunderclap. Poseidon jolted, twisting away like a startled crab.
When he turned, his heart sank.
Fenric hovered there, calm and smiling—a predator savoring the hunt.
Sweat prickled down Poseidon’s spine. He could feel it, clear as day: this man was human.
Aside from the trident, there was no divine aura, no spark of godhood.
And yet... this human was more terrifying than any god Poseidon had ever faced.
Even Zeus himself did not radiate this kind of destructive power.
His thoughts flickered back to the devastating blows he had just taken, the agony still coursing through his body.
If he lands a few more strikes like that... even my divine body will collapse.
(Note: Power scaling differs between the comic and movie verses. In the DCEU, characters range from street to city level, with occasional planetary feats. In the comics, however, top tiers reach universal to multiversal levels. For this story, we’re operating within the movie verse.)
