I finished reading her four messages, a warm smile forming on my lips as she gave me heads up on what was going on with her. I grabbed my keys off the countertop and began making my way toward the door, leaving my room to go meet with Valerie.

Once I got inside my car, I started the engine and pulled out of the parking lot, driving off quickly to pick up Valerie from where she waited. Phroa began making sure I had enough Credi to spend on Valerie, selling old loot rewards from her completed jobs for extra pocket money.

However, my slight hesitation proved that there was a possibility of something going wrong, but it all comes down to Valerie herself.

I made it to the Spade District Entrance, following Valerie's directions on where to go, driving into a parking garage and making my way to the fourth floor. Making a full round along the garage, I stopped my car in front of a black equess muscle car.

"Why did Fredrick go after the Spades? What was his motive?" I asked, longing for more of Valerie's side of Spade's downfall.

"I honestly don't know his motive outside of wanting to rule over the entirety of Royal Creek. The Spades just weren't backing down, Azul was a threat, Bear gave him trouble, Escobar went toe to toe with him...but in the end," Valerie began, closing her eyes and interlocked her fingers together.

"The true reason the Spades fell...was because none of the previous kings was checking on his Queen, Karin North. And after Azul and Karin had broken up, it made it easy for Tomi to slip in and ease her way into her mind, thus the betrayal," Valerie finished with certainty in her tone, her voice steady and clear with each word.

I let out a soft hum, turning into the parking lot of the hotel and parked my car. "No wonder she beats herself up so hard about it...her sister has the same story also. But it seems like everyone else has just the surface level knowledge..."

"That's why I said that Fredrick was better before Tomi, but I know that I'm never getting the old Fredrick back. But, let's not focus on that tonight...let's focus on us," Valerie breathed as she placed her hand on my lap, gently rubbing up and down my leg.

I used my key card to unlock the door, leading Valerie inside with a soft chuckle. "I hope you like the room, I tried to get the best I currently could."

"You could've went dirt cheap, and I would've been fine with it. However, I do appreciate you going over and beyond for me," Valerie hummed, walking toward one of the two beds and placed her bag on top of it.

She walked toward the windows and pulled open the curtains, noticing the rainfall growing harder and the thunder booming loudly as a warning to a storm approaching. "Whoa, it's raining pretty hard...I hope Piper's okay without me for the night."

"Me too, but I know you have trusted nannies where you live. I do hope to see her again as well, maybe I could spoil you and her whenever we're free," I cooed, stepping behind Valerie and placing my hands upon her shoulders.

Valerie smiled at my suggestion, placing her hands atop of mine and began to slowly glide them down to her waist. "I would love that...I can't tell you the last time we were ever spoiled out of pure kindness. You would honestly do that for us?"

"Yeah, I would be more than happy to take you and Piper somewhere where we can spend time together, maybe an aquarium or a zoo. Somewhere all three of us can go," I said softly, my voice becoming more husky the more comfortable we got with each other.
