Chapter 38: Psycho meets Crazy

This pathetic excuse of a man had almost got to her. She had investigated him but he came back clean. If it weren’t for her son she might have fallen deep into this rabbit hole.

She lifted his chin with her open-toed stilettos forcing him to look up. "You are lucky that I am a law-abiding citizen otherwise I would make you disappear in a heartbeat," she said before taking out a sanitary wipe to clean the barton that had touched filthy things.

While she was wiping the steel baton He Xiwen stood by the door watching her his heartbeat was erratic. All his life he had never had any motivation. He was simply blowing with the wind with no sense of direction but in this moment he finally wanted something so bad that he was willing to do anything for it.

He wanted this woman, he wanted to make her his wife even if she had an army of kids. Luo Shih could easily recognise the look in his eyes. She chuckled softly as she walked past him. He ran out of the exposed love nest to catch up with her.

"Young miss how about I show you around town and heal your broken heart," he said and her steps paused before asking directly,

"Are you interested in me?"

"Fuck," he swore having been exposed before the game of cat and mouse could start.

Luo Shih arched her brow upon hearing this. This kid had a weird way of pursuing someone.

She didn’t like him and clearly, he wasn’t her type but she had time and nothing else to do. "Let’s go then," she said and he showed a look of surprise.

"Huh?" he responded with a stupid look on his face.

"Show me around town," she said and continued walking.

He Xiwen’s lips twitched as he tried to contain his excitement. She allowed him to take her to his favourite spots and they spent the entire day together.

He asked her at the end of the day as they watched the sunset at the coast, "Will you give me a chance." Since Luo Shih was a direct person he decided to be very direct.

She told him no and that she didn’t date loafers. He was so dejected having been rejected. Seeing his pitiable appearance she leaned in close and kissed his cheek before saying, "Thank you for keeping me company today."

After that, she left thinking that she would never see his face again but boy was she wrong. In the next two years, he climbed the ranks in the triads and wined and dined with the dragon head until he became the second in command or as they called him the deputy mountain lord.

After two years of superseding his peers and reaching the peek of the food chain, he went to look for her. When they met she almost didn’t recognise him. The young man had matured with an overbearing aura around him. If the excuse back then was that he wasn’t her type it wouldn’t work this time.

He did every shameless thing a person can do when pursuing their beloved. After months of struggle, she finally gave him a shot and he exceeded her expectations.

He was the very embodiment of a perfect boyfriend and his skills in bed were especially good that she couldn’t get enough of him. For once she thought she might have her very first long-term boyfriend and her son seemed not to hate him that much which was incredibly surprising.

Getting Luo Muchen’s stamp of approval was as about impossible as kissing a poisonous viper without being bitten.

As he reached the six months mark which was the longest time Luo Shih had kept one boyfriend she found out her little boyfriend’s big secret.

He had hidden it very well that she didn’t suspect this sweet-looking cutie playing an adult was actually about to take over the triads after the former boss passes away. Because she was very passionate about crime and drugs in the slums and had been sponsoring rehabs she hated the triads with a passion.

The inevitable happened. He Xiwen became an ex and Luo Shih hated him as much as she loved him before.

So what was he doing at her office? He Xiwen was the type that when he fell in love he fell hard. He couldn’t move on and didn’t want to either.

He promised her he would clean up the organisation and that was three years ago. From time to time when he heard Miss Luo was single again, he would show up at her doorstep and seduce her.

Luo Shih would try everything to resist the temptation but the man’s tongue and fingers were incredibly gifted. This was one such time when he made his appearance. Before she could even kick him out he turned her swivel chair over and got on his knees.

He looked up at her and whispered, "I know you have been stressed lately. Let me help you out a little," with eyes as sparkly as gems.

Who could resist that offer, especially at their moment of weakness? Sounds of gasping and soft moans filled her top-floor office and as the pitch got higher and higher it was easy to tell how satisfactory the service was. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

After the unholy act reality smacked her across the face. She realised she had lost control again and it was all because of this person. Her shame was turned into anger with herself but she redirected it towards He Xiwen.

This was what Luo Muchen walked into. The man wasn’t begging for mercy but rather begging her to hit him. At least then he would know she still cared.

This scene was the perfect description of when Psycho meets Crazy. When Lou Shih saw her son she calmed down significantly afraid he would see her crazy side. "Baby, wait in mum’s napping room. I still have to discuss something with this uncle," she said and Luo Muchen glanced at He Xiwen before saying,

"It’s useless. Just go back."

Luo Muchen didn’t know why but he kind of felt sorry for He Xiwen. What he didn’t realise then was that he was feeling empathetic as they were more or less in the same boat. They were both hopelessly in love with people who didn’t love them the same way they loved them.

He Xiwen knew very well that Luo Muchen was Luo Shih’s bottom line and that if he pleases this ancestor he might have a shot so he nodded his head dejectedly and walked away forgetting that he had his ex’s stockings in his pocket. Even if he remembered he would never give them back. He would just add them to his perverse collection of Miss Luo’s things.
