Saving The Villainous Monster From The Male Lead-Chapter 28 - 27: The Prisoner Of The Villain
The knights of the Lancaster family stood there in high alert and stiffness. How can Eleanore take Stella out of this place? She thought as she found herself standing in front of the knights, who had started checking the trolley.
Once satisfied, the knights opened the old door to let the maid in. Eleanore pushed the trolley through the door. She had imagined that it would be a huge room, once passed through that door. Instead she entered a small living room. Unfortunately she had no time to ask the maid about the details on where Stella was kept captive. Thus, Eleanore had no idea which room out of the three to enter.
It didn’t take Eleanore long to recall the side house structure map once she had started looking around. The one upfront is the room where she and the late Dutchess used to rest together. She highly doubted that Caelestis would give that room to Stella but there was still a possibility.
Before Eleanore could open that door to that room, she heard a clicking sound from the room in the far corner, to her left. She turned to the sound and crossed the second room to a narrow passage in the right, leading to the corner-most room.
Eleanore remembered that it was the original owner’s break room. She used to run here and lock herself in it, whenever she felt lost and empty.
Another knight was watching over the door, sitting on a chair that looked uncomfortable from just setting your eyes on it. Eleanore stopped her trolley in front of the closed door. The guard who was napping somehow, woke up on hearing the sound of the trolley lightly crashing into the door.
"Open the door. I’ve come to make the young lady eat her meal." Eleanore said to the old man, who could laugh at those words.
"No one was able to make her eat. What makes you think you can? Why so confident?" He asked, as his hand slipped into his tight pocket to pull out an old rusty key from it.
"Because I know I can." Eleanore replied confidently as she took a long breath. She had recited a few ways in which she would explain the situation to Stella. But in the end it was all vain. For nothing went her way.
There was an unsaid rule that the maids, who delivered the food, followed. They could try their best to convince the Baroness to eat her meal and remain there until she does. But can leave if she still refuses for about five minutes, from the time they entered the room.
The door opened with a single clank through the key and then made a horrible screeching noise, when it was pushed to open the door wide enough for the maid and the trolley to get in.
Eleanore couldn’t believe the condition of this place, she thought it was a precious place for the late Duchess. And that it must be maintained well enough to be called a retreat house.
Eleanore went in and the door closed behind her. She could barely see anything in the dark room. There was no sound, no sign of a human living here.
Fortunately she had grabbed a candle and a match stick at the last moment, remembering the description of the room. It doesn’t differ much from the two long para that described every inch of this room and the female lead’s condition.
She lit a candle and then moved to the window that had been pinned shut by a few wooden planks from outside. Not a single light could escape from that window. Eleanore steps to the left to lead to the bed where Stella might be sleeping.
Eleanore could now hear the breathing of a human. Stella was on the edge of the bed and Eleanore could see her slim body facing the opposite side. She melted some wax on a spare plate and stuck the candle on it. After tracing the bed, she found it safe to place the plate on what felt like a side table..
"Baroness Stella." She called her out in a soft voice. "I have got you food." She added.
Stella remained lying on the bed, having no strength to move after her four day hunger strike. Her resolve was clear and strong. She’d rather die than live the life of a soulless woman in the future.
"Baroness, I would like to introduce myself. I am Eleanore Sinclair. It is a pleasure meeting you." When Eleanore introduced herself, Stella blue eyes flashed open.
Eleanore Sinclair is the name of the precious princess of Sinclair household and queen of social circle. This name belongs to that prestigious lady, who only wished for her to suffer in high society.
At first, Stella thought she had come to harass her once again but then she remembered the Crown Prince’s Birthday banquet night when this same person had saved her.
Stella pushed her weak body to sit upright as the metal’s clanking sound echoed in the quiet room. Her platinum hair, covering her face, shone under the dim light of the candle.
Eleanore couldn’t take her eyes off of this beautiful woman. She had been unable to see her clearly at the Crown Prince’s party. This woman who remained in the dirt for half the week, still looks mesmerizing. Her eyes remained wide open, fascinated by the true female lead’s beauty. Until, Stella broke it by asking an absurd question in her weak voice.
"You want to kill me?" She asked.
"What? No!" Eleanore was completely shocked but couldn’t deny that the original owner of the body would have loved to do that, if she had a chance.
"Then?"
"I have come to help." Eleanore revealed her intentions.
"Like you did at the party?"
"I have no desire to kill you." Eleanore started picking up the dishes from the trolley and placed them in front of Stella.
"Why?" Stella asked another difficult question.
"Because I— want to befriend you."
"Why?" Stella had no strength to frame a full question, so she stuck to one word. Somehow these short questions made Eleanore feel burdened. She could hardly understand her questions and it was even harder to come up with different answers every time.
"Well, because I want to save you."
"Why?"
"Again, like I said, I want to befriend you." Eleanore answered patiently, but it broke when she asked the same question again. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
"Can you please stop and instead frame full questions?" She snapped. "Otherwise we will keep moving in circles."
"Tired." She sulked, catching Eleanore off-guard.
"That’s why you should eat. Have something." She pushed the plate towards Stella.
"No!"
"I know Caelestis better than you. This will not affect him. If you don’t eat when asked nicely, he will force you." Eleanore didn’t have much of the original owner’s memories of Caelestis but she knew his personality well, as a reader and as his fan.
"Hate him."
Eleanore sighed. "I understand."
"You don’t. It’s cold."
"The room?"
Stella nodded.
"That’s why I am asking you to eat. I will help you escape once you gather some strength."
"You will? How?"
"I don’t have a proper plan yet but first you need to get out of here." Eleanore had thought that she would help Stella and Caelestis become a couple like she had always wanted but she couldn’t forget Stella hated him, letting her escape now is in her and Stella’s best interest. She can work on their relationship later.
"Suspicious." Stella narrowed her eyes with a frown, which disappeared soon, as she didn’t even have enough energy to pull off an expression so extreme.
"Act like a good girl Stella. That way you’ll be able to leave this place. Then I will help you run from this place as far as you want. I can even help you move to another country, if you want." Eleanore picked a spoon full of soup and then moved it close to Stella’s lips.
For a while Stella continued staring at Eleanor but then gave up to the tempting aroma of the vegetable soup. She parted her lips and gulped in the whole spoonful of soup, after which she patiently waited for the next spoon. As soon as Eleanore scoped the next one she gobbled it up.
"Wait! Let me blow it cold. It’s too hot." And it didn’t matter as the heat of the soup hardly affected Stella.
Stella looked at Eleanore waiting for the next one, her eyes sparkling greedily. "Pft! You are so cute, Baroness Stella."
Eleanore successfully made her eat the whole portion. When she was about to leave she delivered her last words to Stella.
"From now on, eat your food. Once you are out of here. I promise, I will do whatever you want." Eleanore assured Stella.
"Only you." She said,
"What?" Eleanore was confused.
"If you feed me everyday. I’ll eat." Stella’s request was a difficult one.
Eleanore was lucky to not get caught by Caelestis today but he might easily catch her, if she came everyday. Caelestis might just kill her, yet she couldn’t bring herself to refuse such a pure request.
"I will." Eleanore bowed and left the room, shocking the guard at the door.
"She ate?" He asked with eyes full of joy.
"Yes." Eleanore smiled back at the poor old man. "She will eat everyday from now on. So you can rest now."
