Seoul Object Story-Chapter 162: Halo’s Epilogue (2)
The road stretched out impossibly high.
As I climbed the stone path stretching endlessly toward the sky, I smiled faintly at the bizarre landscape.
A path that soared into the air without any support beams.
If thought of physically, such a stone path would normally crumble under its own weight, but this sky path, like an object, didn’t collapse and maintained its shape.
Thud, thud.
The small thud of my footsteps echoed through the silent air as they rang out, cutting through the stillness.
This path, soaring so far into the sky, looked like a passageway leading to heaven.
The light shining through the clouds reflected and sparkled along the stone path's surface.
To the sides of the path, the ground appeared far below, and around me, clouds like fog floated intermittently.
The surface of the stone path was smooth yet had a natural texture, as if it had been shaped by nature over eons.
However, the geometric perfection of it surely suggested intentional design.
'It’s visible at the end, but this path seems like it’s going to mess with scale...'
This strange road, really like it was reaching up to heaven, was indeed very long.
'This gigantic path was hidden inside the Evolution Fluid?'
I couldn’t help but think that.
By my rough estimate, at my walking pace, it felt like it would take months to reach the end.
I didn’t want to enjoy a walk that long, so I used ghosting and time acceleration to quickly advance along the path.
As I moved forward, it suddenly occurred to me that I had forgotten about the Golden Reapers, and I turned my gaze back.
The starting point had already receded far out of sight, and the Golden Reapers gathered there were now barely visible.
‘Are they still gathered at the start?’
The Golden Reapers should have been able to outrun me if they really wanted to...
It seemed like the ones that had been following me suddenly gave up chasing me.
It was a bit strange, but I shrugged it off.
Sudden behaviors from the Golden Reapers were nothing new.
Especially when they gathered together, they got even worse.
‘Maybe something interesting popped up out of nowhere.’
With that thought, I took my eyes off the Golden Reapers and continued down the path.
The higher I climbed, the clearer and more transparent the air became, and from the horizon behind me, the clouds scattered, revealing the sun.
As I continued up, the blackened corpse and city grew larger.
‘It’s much bigger than I thought...’
It seemed like the black corpse was growing bigger the further I went.
My predictions, which were usually accurate, had completely missed the mark.
I had expected something the size of a black giant, but as I got closer, it looked to be many times larger.
‘Something’s off, though.’
But something felt strange.
At first, I thought it was just a trick of the eyes, but the closer I got, the more distinct the change became.

With each step, the city’s appearance was changing.
As if time was passing rapidly, the buildings began to look older and more worn.
Even with my poor memory, I could tell the difference.
'...'
A strange feeling of foreboding came over me.
It felt like I was heading toward something unusual.
At the end of the suspicious path, I finally reached the destination, a solid plateau.
The moment I stepped onto the plateau.
The black corpse, which had been so prominent, vanished without a trace.
It was as if it had never been there.
What had been filling my field of vision with its overwhelming presence just moments ago, disappeared in an instant, turning into an illusion.
Turning my gaze in confusion, I found that the city was also gone.
The large buildings that had stood in a grand array were nowhere to be found, and deep claw marks were all that remained.
Then, with a sense of foreboding, I turned to look behind me.
'...'
As expected, just like I thought, the path I had ascended was also gone.
The bizarre stone path leading to the sky had disappeared without a trace, as though it had never existed.
'Object-induced mental contamination? Or some kind of mirage phenomenon I don’t know?'
Questions swirled in my mind, but there were no clues to answer them.
All that remained in front of me was a high plateau and deep scars from the huge claw marks.
If all of this had been an illusion, what had led me here?
And who, or what, had left those claw marks?
With these unanswered questions, I called forth the Golden Reapers around me.
‘Mom?’
‘Mom called us!’
‘Teleport?’
When I called the Golden Reapers from the starting point, it seemed like they thought I had suddenly disappeared.
The children, who had been sulking, thinking I had ignored them and teleported, perked up and started laughing again when I called them back.
Standing on the plateau and looking down at the ground, I saw that the Black Planet had now turned green.
‘???’
I rubbed my eyes reflexively, wondering if it was another illusion, but this time, it was definitely real.
The Mini Reapers were now reviving the world that had once been in ruins.
'Revolution!'
The Red Reapers burned the polluted materials to purify them.
<Please return to your original form!>
<Become the moist earth again!>
The Blue Reapers began filling the seas and rivers with water.
"Bing!"
The Green Reaper breathed life into the land.
The land slowly turned green, and animals appeared among the green plants.
It seemed to be the Mini Reapers' preference, as the majority were small creatures like mini-woodpeckers and mini-rabbits...
But revived was revived, I guess?
And just like that, it seemed like this planet had now become my world, with colorful moons rising in the sky, just like the ones I had seen on Earth.
‘The younger siblings are here!’
‘I want to join too!’
Some of the Golden Reapers, upon seeing that, took out dolls of their younger siblings and dressed them up, then started helping with the purification.
‘Where did those clothes come from?’
For a moment, I wondered about it, but since it was a Golden Reaper using the same abilities as me, I just accepted it.
Well, maybe they got some small spatial abilities...
I stood on the high plateau, eating fish-shaped pastries with the Golden Reaper that remained beside me, looking down.
'It feels like a picnic.'
Suddenly, this thought occurred to me.
When the Black Planet is completely purified, it could become quite a nice vacation spot.
‘I’ll have to bring Yerin here later.’
Hehe.
Mini Reaper Garden, Marshmallow Plains.
Perhaps because there were barriers set up preventing access, the Mini Reapers didn't approach the Forbidden Zone at all.
In this desolate place, a Lead Doll was quietly gazing up at the sky.
It seemed as though the Lead Doll was reaching out into the air, as if it could see something.
[....]
The Lead Doll appeared to be speaking, but no psychic waves came out.
