Seven Sins System-Chapter 399. The Great Leader II
Seven Sins System Chapter 399. The Great Leader II
"You have come," a male voice echoed through the room, dripping with an air of authority.
Accompanying the voice was the sound of heavy breathing, punctuated by occasional moans.
The familiar panting breath tickled my ears, and I instantly grimaced, already guessing what the so-called great leader was doing behind that heavy curtain. Yeah… not something I wanted to picture, but my brain went ahead and filled in the details anyway. Thanks, imagination.
The groans ceased and a sigh of relief followed.
‘I thought mortals were supposed to be more civilized than demons. What a bunch of hypocrisy,’ I mused to myself, rolling my eyes internally.
Just then, a strange mechanical noise interrupted the tense atmosphere. It was like the sound of a motor whirring to life.
- Wrrr….
The curtain was drawn back, but instead of revealing the great leader’s identity and face, another layer of secrecy unfolded. Another curtain, thinner than the first but still obscuring the figure behind it. Still, the shadow of the figure stretched big across the curtain, giving me a hint of whoever was in there. Then I noticed—there was a woman lying next to him on the bed.
From the silhouette, I could make out a solid, broad-shouldered build—just like the way Red used to paint me. The guy looked like the spitting image of how people used to picture me. It felt weird as hell, seeing what used to be me showing up in someone else, especially since nobody ever saw the real me thanks to that mask I always wore around mortals.
There was something unsettling about the way the figure stood before us, his form and the tentacles extending from his body hinting at a power and authority.
Despite the thin veil of the curtain, the figure's presence loomed large, casting a shadow that seemed to stretch across the room.
Without hesitation, the thugs and all present immediately dropped to their knees.
"All hail the great lord of wrath!!!" the thugs shouted in unison.

'Yeah, all hail to me,' I thought. I couldn't help but smirk internally. It was amusing, in a twisted sort of way, to see them bowing down to a fake version of me.
“Stand up!” the great leader raised his hand, commanding them, they obeyed without hesitation.
"Now explain to me, what do you mean by one of these people has my curse?" he demanded.
"The doctor said he bore your curse, my lord. He was in pain," one of the thugs stammered, his voice trembling with fear as he pointed a shaky finger in my direction. His eyes darted nervously between me and the great leader.
“They could be lying,” the great leader responded calmly.
The thugs exchanged nervous glances, clearly unsure of how to proceed.
“Yes, he could be lying. But we haven't mentioned anything about you," another thug chimed in. "Also, that doctor is the guy in the viral video," he added, as if that explained everything.
A look of recognition flickered across the great leader's face. "Oh, that combat doctor," he mused, his tone contemplative. "The one who can defeat a paladin in a duel and succeed in saving his colleague alone from the monster nest."
The thugs nodded eagerly, seemingly relieved that their leader had made the connection.
“Yes, him!” the first thug exclaimed excitedly, his eyes wide with fervor. "There's something different about that doctor," he continued.
'Ugh, how did he know about that incident? Oh, right. I'm famous!' I pondered inwardly.
It seemed that this great leader knew more than I had initially assumed. Perhaps I had underestimated him. It seemed the viral video had brought me unexpected fame and attention.
“Hmm… weird. In that video, that paladin is quite skilled. Yet that combat doctor was able to defeat him easily," the great leader mused aloud. "But why can you catch it so easily?" he added, directing his question to the thugs.
The thugs exchanged uncertain glances, clearly unsure of how to respond to their leader's inquiry.
"Maybe this has something to do with the curse, my lord," one of the thugs ventured tentatively.
The great leader's gaze narrowed thoughtfully as he processed the thug's words. His expression remained inscrutable.
“Yes. Based on their conversation earlier, it seemed like this wasn't the first time he felt such pain. He knew it was because of the curse," another thug chimed in.
"Did he feel any pain when you caught him?" the great leader inquired.
“No,” one of the thugs replied promptly. "But maybe he is already weak," he added hastily, as if trying to offer an explanation.
The great leader's brows furrowed in contemplation, his lips pursed in thought. "Hmm…" he murmured.
Suddenly, he straightened, his gaze fixating on us. "Red Demons, bring them to me," he commanded, his voice resonating with authority.
The Red Demons nodded in acknowledgment.
