SEXY MECH SYSTEM-Chapter 25: First Side Quest
Syril couldn’t waste any time.
Wasting time could mean losing another person who mattered in his life.
Wasting time could destroy the life of his long-time saviour.
Wasting time could mean not completing the mission.
He dashed into the busy streets of Almandale, the Mechabeetle’s picture breeding primal urgency.
In no time, he reached the convenience store, thanks to his improved agility.
But as he stood at the entrance, staring at the opaque glass door and reading the "Closed" insignia hung on the door, clarity came.
He remembered what brought him there in the first place—earlier on, he had seen Sherry being maltreated by two goons, rough handled by ability users she couldn’t overpower.
Now, he’s supposed to stop them? His ability is currently useless now, so, he could only rely on his fists.
Fists against abilities? That was crazy.
Howbeit, Syril was determined to barge in regardless of circumstances and consequences. He couldn’t let this slide, he couldn’t allow those bastards harm Sherry.
As his hand touched the knob, as if to boost his confidence, he received a message from the system.

[ALERT!!!]
[New Side Quest!]

[Instructions: Defeat the thieves and collect all stolen goods and money back.]

Syril smiled to himself and pushed the door open. Now, with so much confidence, confidence born from the expectation of rewards.
The door opened wide, but what he saw wasn’t expected.
"What have we here?" Asked a slender adult equipping short daggers in both hands, turning his gaze towards the unexpected disturbance. "You didn’t see the ’closed’ sign?"
The goon was startled at first, but heaved a sigh of relief after noticing that the disturbance was a teenager, thinking the boy was here for the same reason they were, or outright gullible.
Syril didn’t even pay attention to the slender guy, his eyes were heavily fixated on the other man who was busy pressing Sherry’s head on her counter and inappropriately touching her.
"You know what they say... Fools always walk to their pits," the man rough handling Sherry said, grinning pleasurably as he dragged his hands down to the curve of Sherry’s waist.
"Syril, is that you? Please, go away!! Run!" Sherry cried out, forcing herself to talk with her head pinned and mouth partially covered.
Something in Syril broke.
Staring at those eyes that once looked at him and gave him free foods without thinking twice widening in horror shattered something in his chest. The same voice that used to soothe him was the one screaming for his safety, despite her predicament.
Syril snapped.
"You bastard..." Syril growled.
Without thinking, he lunged forward with unbridled anger, aiming to deliver a blow to the said thief.
*SWOOSH!* *BAM!*
A figure suddenly crashed into one of the gondolas with a loud thud, splattering groceries on the floor and yelling curse words.
The figure slowly rose from the ground, shaking off food items as he stood up.
It was Syril.
"Nooooo!! Leave him out of this! Run, Syril!" Sherry screamed.
Turns out Syril had aimed at the thief holding Sherry captive, and failed to register the incoming threat from the other thief with daggers.
The slender robber had manifested his ability, sending powerful wind strike that knocked Syril into the nearest gondola shelving.
’Wind manipulation... quite a strong ability. If I’m gonna succeed, I have to plan this well.’

[Name: Finn Sholman.]
[Age: 30.]
[Race: Human.]
[Ability: Bone Manipulation.]
————~~~~~————~~~~~———
’This is crazy! But... I can still do this,’ Syril asserted himself.
Truly, it was crazy. He didn’t lie. Both abilities were ranked C, but Syril didn’t know this, he only knew their level of offensiveness couldn’t be overlooked. Especially Finn with Bone Manipulation, the same man holding Sherry down.
"She’s your momma?" Asked Spencer, the thief with Wind Manipulation, raising his daggers to sight and playfully twirling them in his hands. "Too bad. Men are hungry and need cash."
"Be a good boy by stepping out or help pack these goodies in the bag. Don’t try anything stupid," Finn added, still holding Sherry’s curves, applying more pressure as if to stoke Syril’s anger.
"Here’s the deal..." Syril replied, his tone cold like a blade, polished by that same unbridled anger. "I’m not leaving until you drop everything you’ve stolen and go out."
He meant that, but wouldn’t rush into them. He could still be offensive with his improved stats and probably hidden buffs. All while being calm and attentive.
"No... Sy-Syril, listen to them. Don’t try anything stupid... I’ll-I’ll be fine," Sherry’s voice broke, unable to speak clearly as the bastard behind her kept pressing on her.
Her voice should have eased him, made him comply, but instead, it spiked his anger to a level he had never attained.
His eyes blazed with fury, his tone growing colder with every passing moment.
"Motherfuckers!" Syril growled, "You’ll pay for these!"
"Deal with him, Spencer."
"NOOOO!" She yelled again.
Without mercy, Spencer swung his arms forward three times, sending three powerful wind blades in Syril’s direction, each one with lethal intent.
*SWOOSH!* *SWOOSH!* *SWOOSH!*
The strikes dashed forward with purpose, but instead of taking the hits like last time, Syril fluidly dodged them with efficacy. He simply jumped sideways, tilted, and weaved like a pro, allowing the strikes to uselessly slash the store’s wall with small gouges.
Syril hastily gave a short glance at the wall, shocked to see the small cut that could have been a superficial or even a deeper cut on his body.
’These bastards don’t even care!’ He shouted in his head, fueled by another wave of anger.
The next strikes from Spencer were faster and more powerful, sent in a way to prevent maneuvering, but Syril again dodged everything with practical fluidity, jumping when needed, tilting when it was necessary or simply moving aside.
It was as if he was trying to mock the wind ability user.
"Eh, Superspeed, huh? Nice ability, but Wind Control is better!" Spencer said before he lunged.
He propelled himself forward with his wind manipulation, controlling wind currents to aid his movement, dashing forward with powerful wind gusts.
This time, he was going to use his daggers.
