Shadows of the Deep Space-Chapter 63 - Guidance
63: Chapter 63 Guidance
63 -63 Guidance
The trio hastily left the command tower, returning to the rooftop of the neighboring high-rise building.
“Brother Li, how is it going?”
Wu Bo eagerly approached and asked the approaching Li Fubai.
“Why ask so many questions?
Just follow me!”
Li Fubai climbed straight onto his Iron Head mecha.
Lin Chuyu and Sun Yue also swiftly clambered into their mechs and soon restarted them.
At that moment, Lin Chuyu suddenly noticed in the distance two Iron Heads appearing in their field of view, one of which was equipped with a DS-01 electromagnetic mechanical gun and looked a lot like Su Ming.
What was worse, from her high vantage point, Chuyu saw a large number of Iron Knights forming a circle around Su Ming and Chen Tong, closing in on them.
“Chuyu, what’s wrong, we need to go.”
Li Fubai, seeing Chuyu had activated her mecha but kept looking into the distance, immediately asked.
“I saw Su Ming and they have a bunch of Iron Knights closing in on them from all around; we need to figure out a way to alert them.”
Lin Chuyu replied calmly. freeweɓnovel.cѳm
Hearing Lin Chuyu’s words, Li Fubai’s eyebrows immediately raised as he looked in the distance.
He quickly spotted Su Ming and Chen Tong surrounded, a cold smile crossing his lips.
“Huh?
How can we alert them?
The interstellar airport is full of interference; there’s no way to use wireless communication.”
Sun Yue asked, somewhat troubled.
“Fire a shot from a distance!”
Lin Chuyu decisively raised her Blast Gun.
At this moment, Li Fubai, controlling his mecha, reached out and grabbed Lin Chuyu’s raised Blast Gun, speaking in a cold voice.
“I disagree.
We’re not on the same team as Su Ming and the others.
We have no obligation to rescue them!
Plus, we are a team; you firing a shot will definitely alert the enemy, and the hatred will be drawn to us.
That would be bad for our situation.
Our goal is to get a high score.”
“Brother Lin, Brother Li is right, we can’t take this risk.”
Wu Bo and the others also tried to persuade.
“I know.”
Lin Chuyu sighed helplessly, realizing that, in a sense, Li Fubai was not wrong.
“We better get moving; it’s not safe here anymore.”
Li Fubai then manipulated his mecha, activating the thrusters to jump off from the other side of the roof.
Sun Yue, Wu Bo, and the others followed suit, piloting their mechas while carrying the marine personnel to leave.
Chuyu walked last.
When everyone had jumped off the rooftop, she suddenly turned her mecha around and switched on the searchlight, flashing it towards Su Ming in the distance.
At that moment, Su Ming, who was searching the airport, immediately looked up towards the source of the light, adjusting his optical lens to zoom in.
Immediately, Su Ming saw on the top of the distant rectangular building, an Iron Head mecha had shut off its searchlight, turned around, and activated its thrusters to leap away.
“What’s wrong?”
Chen Tong asked Su Ming, puzzled.
“I think I just saw Lin Chuyu.”
Su Ming looked towards the distant building, unsurely responding.
“Where?”
Chen Tong was shocked too; they had been searching for half the day and hadn’t seen a soul.
Now Su Ming claimed to have seen Lin Chuyu.
“Let’s go; she just left from the top of that building right in front of us!”
Su Ming promptly switched on the auxiliary thrusters and flew towards the building.
Chen Tong hurriedly activated his thrusters to follow.
They quickly reached the front of the building, Su Ming stomping on the ground and skillfully increasing the output power of the thrusters, the cumbersome Iron Head mecha forcefully ascending to land on the top.
As for Chen Tong, due to not controlling it well, his Iron Head mecha thudded against the wall at the top of the building.
Su Ming sighed slightly, turned around, and reached out, preparing to pull Chen Tong up.
But then he froze, as he saw in the distance a host of Iron Knights and swarms of mechanical spiders closing in on them.
“The flight capabilities of these Iron Heads are really terribly inadequate.”
At that moment, Chen Tong, controlling his mecha with one hand clinging to the edge, climbed up, annoyed, and complained to Su Ming.
However, Su Ming didn’t respond to Chen Tong.
Instead, he asked with concern,
“Why aren’t you saying anything?”
Su Ming’s face changed slightly as he spoke.
“Run, the Iron Knights are closing in.”
“Damn!”
Chen Tong was also startled upon hearing Su Ming’s words, then he turned his head to take a glance and instantly broke out into a cold sweat.
The two immediately controlled their mechas to turn around and dash forward, jumping down from another side.
At this moment, those encircling Iron Knights also realized they had been exposed and no longer hid, each of them moving toward Su Ming and Chen Tong at an extremely high speed.
During the chase, Chen Tong glanced back and saw the surrounding Iron Knights closing the distance rapidly and raising their left arms, which hid gun muzzles, to aim at the two of them.
Bang bang!
A hail of bullets poured down.
“Shit, Su Ming, they’re catching up, and it looks like we can’t outrun them.”
Chen Tong shouted in frustration.
“We have to run even if we can’t outrun them, there are at least thirty Iron Knights encircling us, not to mention those mechanical spiders.”
Su Ming’s emotions fluctuated wildly, really caught off guard.
He didn’t expect the enemy to think so highly of the two of them, to mobilize so many troops into a trap, slowly closing in.
If it hadn’t been for Lin Chuyu’s warning, they might really have been caught.
But even so, the situation didn’t improve much, some of the bullet rain struck the mechas of the two, with sparks flying everywhere!
Red warning boxes popped up continuously on their screens.
“Warning: Hull armor integrity compromised….”
…
“Damn it!”
Su Ming scanned the area in front of them and his eyes immediately locked onto a cluster of buildings to the right.
He quickly said to Chen Tong.
“Run to the right, see if we can shake them off?”
“Okay!”
Chen Tong replied, gritting his teeth.
…
On the other side, Li Fubai led Lin Chuyu and others at high speed towards the central B2 zone.
At this moment, he heard the intense sound of gunfire coming from far behind and a smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.
If nothing unexpected happened, that kid Su Ming should be dead by now, no one could survive an attack by so many mechas and mechanical spiders.
His mood was instantly very pleasant as he spoke.
“Speed up.”
“Alright.”
Sun Yue and the others responded one after another.
Half an hour later, Li Fubai and the others successfully made their way to the B2 zone.
Relying on the map in his memory, he immediately locked onto a steel structure hangar with an area of hundreds of thousands of square meters at the 3 o’clock direction.
“That’s the hangar!”
Li Fubai excitedly controlled his mecha, leading everyone towards the wide-open doors of the hangar, feeling as if he already had the winning ticket in his hands.
But just as they approached the wide-open doors of the hangar.
Clang!
Clang!
The heavy sound of footsteps came out from inside the hangar.
Li Fubai and the others were shocked and immediately stopped, raising their weapons towards the hangar doors.
At this moment, four Iron Knights with glowing eyes walked out from the hangar doors.
“Huh!
I thought it was some formidable enemy, it gave us quite the scare.”
Sun Yue let out a long sigh of relief.
“Take them down!”
Li Fubai did not hesitate to issue the order.
