Shattered by Fate, Restored by Truth-Chapter 1004: Everything Has Changed
"Sometimes, you might be scared too, right?" Su Wanxin pondered for a moment, and softly replied, "He’s really scary when he’s scolding someone with a stern face."
But compared to being scolded, Su Wanxin feared more when Fu Shihan didn’t say anything, just looked at you with a dark face.
Fu Shiyi thought about that image, furrowed her brows, and shook her head, agreeing it was indeed terrifying.
She went into the bathroom to shower, while Su Wanxin lay on the bed and picked up her phone. She calculated the time and called Qi Ran to talk about Su Yao.
When Fu Shiyi came out, she heard Wanxin speaking softly, "Mom, then you talk to my dad, remember to be tactful, otherwise he definitely won’t be able to handle it."
Fu Shiyi was stunned for a moment, momentarily lost in thought, unable to describe how she felt.
"Mm, I know, I’ll be careful. Let’s talk about this when you come, and also Su Bai, make sure he comes, I need to talk to him about something."
Su Wanxin was still speaking softly with the person on the other end of the call, and Fu Shiyi leaned against the bathroom door quietly listening. She only slowly walked into the room after Wanxin hung up the phone.
"Is Aunt Qi coming over them?" Fu Shiyi sat on the edge of the bed, tilting her head to look at Wanxin, asking with concern.
"Yes," Su Wanxin nodded. "Yaoyao and Lu Ci are having an engagement party, so some people from the family will come."
"Oh." Fu Shiyi nodded thoughtfully, then pondered for a moment and said, "What about you and my brother? Aren’t you planning to hold an engagement party?"
"Why should I hold an engagement party?" Su Wanxin smiled and declined.
"Don’t you feel you’re missing out?"
"What’s there to miss out on? Holding one more just brings more troubles; just the thought of it is exhausting."
Su Wanxin looked down at her phone, speaking indifferently.
"Besides, I’ve been with Fu Shihan for so many years. If it weren’t for his persistence, I wouldn’t even want to have a wedding."
"That’s not okay! You must have one!" Fu Shiyi furrowed her brows, unable to understand why Wanxin was so laid back.
Su Wanxin glanced up at her, smiled, and then looked down at her phone again.
Fu Shiyi watched her for a long while, then slowly crawled onto the bed, lowering her head without speaking.
"What’s wrong?" Su Wanxin noticed her unusual behavior and asked with concern.
Fu Shiyi shook her head but said nothing.
Su Wanxin leaned over, tilting her head to look at her. When she saw her eyes slightly reddened, she put down her phone and asked seriously, "What’s really wrong?"
"It’s nothing." Fu Shiyi spoke softly, looking at her and said, "I just felt uncomfortable hearing you talking to Aunt Qi earlier."
Many times, Fu Shiyi would unconsciously forget about Su Wanxin’s connection with the Su Family.
Only when she saw her with Su Yao, or like just now, when she heard her call Qi Ran "Mom," would she suddenly remember that Su Wanxin has family, is different from before.
Got to know Su Wanxin at seven, it’s been over a decade now.
They’ve had good times, arguments, and fallouts.
As kids, they were innocent and carefree; they could fight in the morning and make up by the afternoon.
But growing up, many things became insurmountable obstacles; once they happen, they just linger painfully in the heart.
Fu Shiyi couldn’t even recall how many years it’s been since she last had a good sleep holding Su Wanxin.
They used to be so good, like one person. But now, everything has changed.
Fu Shiyi thought about those two years of harsh words, thought about everything that happened before Su Wanxin’s suicide attempt, and didn’t know what else to say.
She just knew she had hurt her, and saying anything now was useless.
