Chapter 1012: Chapter 1012: Midnight Alarm

Her words were practically a joke, it’s fine if she doesn’t say it, but by giving him hope and then telling him not to take it to heart.

Fu Shihan, feeling annoyed, turned on the light to observe the expression of the person below him, wanting to confirm if she was fooling with him.

"You know some things shouldn’t be said lightly, I take them seriously."

He stared at her intensely and asked.

"What do you mean by ’not entirely impossible’? My Chinese isn’t good; it was taught by the PE teacher. I don’t understand what you mean, explain it to me."

"Aren’t you going too far?" Su Wanxin protested softly.

"You’re the one going too far." Fu Shihan slightly frowned. "Teasing me like this, aren’t you afraid of getting hit?"

Su Wanxin pouted and said nothing.

"What about the company?"

"I don’t know, haven’t thought about it yet."

So it turns out she was really just messing with him?!

Fu Shihan turned over with a dark face, not wanting to speak. Su Wanxin saw he was angry, intended to appease him, but didn’t know how to start.

It was true she hadn’t considered those issues, she just thought when he mentioned wanting to work together, it wasn’t entirely impossible.

There’s no way... well, if one tries hard enough, it might work.

"Don’t touch me, sleep." Fu Shihan felt her tugging at his clothes and spoke coldly. "Don’t take advantage of my good temper to mess around."

"I should be the one saying that..."

Su Wanxin couldn’t help but mutter softly, he really convinced himself she had a good temper for him...

Fu Shihan ignored her, leaving Su Wanxin helplessly turning off the light but finding herself unable to sleep.

The house was silent, and Su Wanxin thought for a long time. Just as she finally made up her mind to sleep, a sharp, unsettling alarm sounded downstairs.

Su Wanxin’s body trembled, while the person beside her immediately pulled her back into their arms.

The house was equipped with a defense system, but this was the first time Su Wanxin heard the alarm.

"Yangyang!"

She said with anxiety, instinctively trying to turn on the light, but was stopped by Fu Shihan. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

"Be good, don’t move." Fu Shihan reassured her and held her hand, "Don’t turn on the light."

He moved to the window, pulling back the curtain corner to look downstairs. Then he returned to Su Wanxin and asked, "I’ll go check on Yangyang, will you wait here?"

"I’ll go with you!"

"Okay."

The uncomfortable noise continued downstairs. Su Wanxin kept looking back anxiously, not knowing what was happening below.

Fu Shihan led her to Yangyang’s room. Fu Shiyi and Yangyang had also been startled awake, hiding in the room, unsure of what to do.

"Daddy!"

Seeing Fu Shihan push the door open, Yangyang scrambled off the bed and ran to his side, looking up at him.

"Is it a fire? Or an earthquake? Or is there a thief in our house?"

The little guy was full of curiosity, not showing any sign of fear. Fu Shihan looked down at him and smiled.

"I’ll go down and take a look, will you protect mommy here?"

"No problem!"

He nodded seriously, and once Fu Shihan left, he immediately locked the door, pulling Su Wanxin and Fu Shiyi onto the bed and turning off the bedside lamp.

Su Wanxin found his series of actions amusing and pathetic. Fu Shiyi temporarily forgot his tension, unable to hold back a laugh as he asked, "How are you going to protect us, exactly?"

"Shh! Don’t talk!"

Yangyang tiptoed back to the door, pressing his little face against it to listen to outside noises. After a while, he returned to the two and jumped into Su Wanxin’s arms.

"Mommy, I’m scared!"
