Shattered by Fate, Restored by Truth-Chapter 1080: Brother Bai Can’t Sleep Because He’s Thinking of Me?
Fu Shiyi had no choice but to yawn and follow him downstairs.
When she arrived at the dining room and saw the bowl of instant noodles on the table, she couldn’t help but laugh.
She took a tentative bite, nodded, "Not bad, way better than what Wanwan makes."
Su Wanxin is the kind of talent who would add oil, salt, sauce, and vinegar to instant noodles. Fu Shiyi used to think it was hereditary, but after tasting Qi Ran’s and Su Yao’s cooking, she realized she was wrong.
Su Wanxin is completely self-taught, a style of her own.
"But compared to my brother, it’s still lacking."
Su Bai was about to retort, but having tasted Fu Shihan’s cooking himself, he had to swallow his words.
"Why does Fu Shihan know how to cook?" Su Bai asked puzzled, seeing as he didn’t seem like someone who would be in the kitchen.
"For Wanwan, of course. The two of them studied abroad, and Wanwan is picky with food, so my brother cooked for her himself."
As Fu Shiyi talked, she sighed.
"Forget it, let’s not talk about it. It’s jealousy."
How did she manage all these years? Survived by eating lemons every day, such bitterness.
Su Bai chuckled, watched her seriously eat, and breathed a sigh of relief.
"So, we’re done with today’s issue?"
"Yeah, we’re done." Fu Shiyi nodded, her mouth full as she replied, "Go to sleep, goodnight."
"Alright, I’m heading up, goodnight."
Su Bai didn’t stand on ceremony with her and turned to leave. But as soon as he got upstairs, he was faced with awkwardness.
"Mom." He saw someone standing at the top of the stairs, meeting Qi Ran’s gaze, feeling a bit uneasy.
Qi Ran glanced downstairs and asked, "What are you doing up so late?"
"Just making her instant noodles."
"Hah."
Qi Ran let out a cold laugh that sent chills down Su Bai’s spine, and then she left.
She had come out for a drink of water, saw the light downstairs and thought it was Su Wanxin down there. But a closer look revealed it was her son staying up all night, chatting and laughing with a girl.
So embarrassing, can’t bear to see, so afraid it would happen and it did.
"Mom, Mom! Let me explain, don’t misunderstand!"
Su Bai’s head was buzzing with pain as he followed, only to have Qi Ran slam the door on him, shutting him out, utterly embarrassed.
He rubbed his nose and sighed heavily.
What a day it’s been, what did he do to deserve this?
In the end, it’s still Fu Shihan’s fault. If not for him, he wouldn’t have upset Fu Shiyi, and if not for upsetting Fu Shiyi, none of this would have happened.
Su Bai finally found a reason, didn’t care about the time, and pulled out his phone to call Fu Shihan.
Fu Shihan had just returned to the hotel, preparing to undress for a shower, saw his call, raised a brow, and answered.
"Hello."
The deep voice reached Su Bai’s ears, making him pause slightly.
Was it an illusion? Why did Fu Shihan’s voice sound a bit hoarse, as if he had a sore throat?
"You’re still up?" Su Bai asked, knowingly, "Still out?"
Fu Shihan sat down on the bed, hearing him make small talk, chuckled lightly, "Brother Bai missing me too much to sleep?"
Su Bai: "..."
Is he crazy? Why call this bastard at all?
"Checking up on you for my sister, see if you’re fooling around." Su Bai took a deep breath and steadied his emotions, "Don’t flatter yourself."
"Really? But I kind of miss you, what should I do?" Fu Shihan’s lips curved slightly as he said softly, "The company’s matters are a bit troublesome, if Brother Bai were by my side, things would be a lot easier."
