Fu Shihan didn't speak, and Li Mo spoke on his own.
"This past three years, searching for her used a lot of manpower and resources. Now that she is willing to show up voluntarily, there must be a reason. Did she come to the company looking for money?"
Fu Shihan denied, "For the child."
"Did she threaten you using the child? How much did she ask for?"
"It was me who threatened her with the child." Fu Shihan said with a wry smile. "Regarding the car accident three years ago, she didn't deny being the one behind it."
Li Mo was slightly startled, his expression slowly changing, an unusual gleam flashing through his eyes.
"She didn't come back to look for us. If I hadn't lied to her by saying that Yangyang was sent away by us, she might not even want to see my face."
Fu Shihan and Li Mo looked at each other, then their gazes slowly fell on her paralyzed legs, sinking into a long silence.
The living room fell quiet, no one spoke for a while. After a long pause, Li Mo spoke again.
"There are some things she wants to deny, but she can't deny them. She disappeared for three years and now she shows up; what is she really here for?"
Recalling the car accident three years ago, Li Mo still felt utterly disappointed in Su Wanxin.
Li Mo couldn't remember much of the details of the accident, but what he couldn't forget was waking up covered in blood and learning that Su Wanxin had disappeared.
Su Wanxin was adopted by the Fu Family from the orphanage at the age of seven, and Li Mo raised her like his own daughter for more than a decade, never imagining that she would abandon him and leave when disaster struck.
Sadness, disappointment. These past three years, whenever he thought of that person, Li Mo was filled with these two emotions, unable to calm down.
Li Mo took a deep breath, trying hard to control his emotions, his voice gentle yet firm.
"Bring her back, I have questions for her."
Fu Shihan was momentarily stunned, then nodded. "Alright, I'll bring her over when there's a chance."
Li Mo glanced at him as he stood up to leave and changed the subject. "Not staying at home? Who are you going off to meet? I heard you're even taking an interest in wild models of the eighteenth tier. If I hadn't seen you today, I would have thought you had cataracts or went blind."
Fu Shihan remained silent, mocked. Just as he was about to say something, from the corner of his eye, he noticed a small figure on the stairs.
Yangyang, wearing pajamas, stood at the top of the stairs. Seeing the people downstairs, his face was full of irrepressible happiness.
His small hand nervously clenched the corner of his clothes, and as he met Fu Shihan's gaze, he carefully called out, "Daddy."
Fu Shihan watched him from afar, slowly responding, "Come here."
With permission, the little one ran down the stairs, eager to get next to Fu Shihan.
The three-year-old boy had a very beautiful face.
Now, he looked up at Fu Shihan with a face somewhat similar to Su Wanxin's yet more resembling Fu Shihan's, appearing hopeful yet nervous.
It was evident he wanted to get close to Fu Shihan, but he was hesitant.
"Daddy, have you had dinner? Are you hungry? Can I get you some milk to drink?"
"Are you hungry?" Fu Shihan touched his head, asking softly.
Yangyang shook his head. "Not hungry, but grandma says children must drink milk, otherwise, they won't grow tall. I want to be as tall as daddy."
Delighted to have his head touched, Yangyang, though young, had already learned to observe and respond to moods. Seeing that Fu Shihan seemed to be in a good mood today, he slowly snuggled closer and then hugged his legs.
