Shattering Humanity-Chapter 412: Rejoinders Filled With Faith
Wherefore we henceforth know no man after the flesh: even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more. Wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new.
But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and gave unto us the ministry of reconciliation; to wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not reckoning unto them their trespasses, and having committed unto us the word of reconciliation." - 2 Corinthians 5:16-19
______________
[Southern Kami Island]
The blonde witch backs up to the ledge once more, hanging her heels off the edge. All body weight being held up by her green nail painted toes.
MamMon DæMon: "I am aware of your mental block when it comes to having conversations with those you don’t know.
In that case, I will flat out tell you.
Since I am undoubtedly the strongest you will find on this island, you can challenge me in a simple test of combat.
Instead of using military force..."
Vegetius’ fist tightens and his teeth are biting his face cloth in rage.
No hesitation at all, he accepts the offer of a contest with a nod.
A wicked smile grows on MamMon’s face while she stands precariously over a 250 yard drop to her death.
MamMon DæMon: "Pleasant.
It’s quite simple really, I’ll stand on this ledge, like so.
If you can either knock me off, or force me to put a heel on the ground, I will not only submit my territory to the Sheriff on my faction’s behalf, but also I will hand over the man she had risked thousands of lives for.
I will offer you the opportunity to earn a reprieve for your Sheriff..."
Vegetius focuses in and takes a step towards his smirking opponent. Putting his fists up, the highly respected young military man gets an arm’s length away from the DæMon with her hands still to her sides.
MamMon DæMon: "I’ll warn you now, that won’t w..."
Ignoring her advice, the soldier throws right jab and MamMon DæMon waits until the final millisecond to easily dodge the punch.
She continues to do the same perfect dodges with the barrage of punches aimed for her head.
Once the male fighter realizes the inefficiency of his offense strategy he switches up and goes for a lower leg sweep, which MamMon easily hops and landing her toes perfectly down on his ankle.
Through his face cloth, Vegetius lets out a shriek of pain and his body hits the ground.
MamMon DæMon: "For the sake of the woman you seek sanguinity in, I sure hope this isn’t the extent of your abilities, Boy.
Or this whole event would be all for not."
Chuckling MamMon DæMon jumps off the injured fighter’s ankle. Landing back on the ledge with both ankles hanging over.
MamMon DæMon: "Realize I only did that because I personally feel disrespected that you are throwing your fists without any devotion. Don’t try to hide your max potential from me, little lamb.
I already know you can produce a SoulSeiõrShield..."
Letting his adrenaline take over to mask the pain in his ankle, Vegetius regains his breath and slowly stands back on his feet as a hint of lust is projected from the lips of the greedy DæMon.
MamMon DæMon: "...So show it to me."
The clearly outclassed new Seiõr user take a deep breath and braces his body. The stance makes MamMon DæMon smile in the same amusement as a parent watching a child playing pretend.
MamMon DæMon: "Do you have to stand like that to activate your Seiõr?"
As if comedically annoyed by the interruption, Vegetius looks angrily at the cocky woman. She then puts her hands up in defense and looks away.
MamMon DæMon: "Sorry. That was rude of me. Please proceed."
The sole soldier braces himself again and after a deep breath his bluish/yellow SoulSeiõrShield flows from his pores and he opens his blue eyes.
MamMon DæMon: "Okay, are you ready to witness the difference between your new Seiõr and my old Seiõr."
She activates her own gold on gold SanguineSoulSeiõrShield, a drop of sweat rolls down Vegetius’ temple.
MamMon holds out a green nail polished hand and motions him to attack.
The overeager man raises his right fist, but before he knows it, the two sets of blue eyes lock and MamMon stops the punch right by Vegetius’ ear.
Upon contact, the pair of fighters are no longer on Kami Island. In fact, it doesn’t appear that the two are even on Earth anymore.
It’s as if they were transported to a small rocky and crater filled surface. The sky is no longer precipitating SeiõrSnow, but the steller, breathtaking view of bright distant galaxies, moons, space clouds, and stars.
The immediate and unpredictable transition in his surroundings surprises the unprepared soldier making him fall back on his ass. Now fully panicking, the man is hyperventilating through his mask while a shooting star reflects off the wetness in his eyes.
MamMon DæMon: "This is just one of the VIP curtains of truth, behind your newly acquired abilities.
Within a Mindscape such as this, Seiõr ’places us’ in a mutually even realm or ’playing field’."
Coming to terms with the fact he is able to breath perfectly like normal and the atmosphere is not deadly, the young soldier cautiously gets to his knees.
He looks up and sees two green and blue planets barely tap each other. The craters where the colorful celestial bodies touched are glowing red and both begin visibly spinning faster.
MamMon DæMon: "I hope now that you’ve taken everything into consideration, and viewed with your own eyes, what your ’Messiah’ probably hasn’t experienced."
On his knees, truly taking the powerful witch’s words into consideration, contemplating everything, especially his current fight setting.
The smirk of satisfaction fades from MamMon’s face after a while of not getting an answer, until...
Vegetius: "Fuhgg...You..."
A smile clear from the indents behind his soft cloth facemask, Vegetius looks up and gets to a knee.
Raising a hand up to his face, he grips the cloth concealing his face and breaths the fresh, clean air as he reveals his lower face.
Vegetius: "No matter how much you flaunt your powers in front of someone like me...
Front running against someone as weak as myself...
It just proves, when you’re confront by my Goddess, she’ll know how to overcome what I’m unable to comprehend, and you will lose."
The smile slowly returns to the DæMon’s face and she unsuccessfully tries to hide it behind her hand.
MamMon DæMon(thinking): *So you did send your most valuable soldier, little cousin.*
[Tomodachi Beach Shores]
Free falling Shelly is saved and smoothly rides her blazing sword above the waters to confront her newest opponents.
Once again this display of using Seiõr dumbfounds the spectating audience as Shelly zips by their water vessels.
No acknowledgement of Seiõr is needed to see the flaming sword underneath her feet, and the spectacle is more than enough to stun the 7 ships worth of military personnel.
The First-Mate: "What the Hell?"
Shelly glides to the fleet leader’s vessel and floats in the air, looking down on her enemy.
The blue eyes of Kami Island’s strongest and pink eyes of surviving Vinland’s strongest lock.
Without breaking eye contact, the blonde warrior removes the Seax from her teeth.
Behind the Sheriff, the First Mate of the ship reaches for his holstered handgun.
Shelly: "Turn around and go home.
None of my friends want to fight you, and the people who have you friend captive are on the other side of the island.
Please leave or we’ll make you leave by force."
There comes no response from the Sheriff as Shelly lightly bobs up and down on her sentient blade.
Both the women’s eyes widen and without warning Shelly deflects a bullet with her Seax.
She looks over her raised arm at the wheelhouse door, where the Captain of the ship has fired his personal weapon, not the equally surprised 2nd in command.
Captain: "Get away from my ship, you demon."
Shelly lowers her arm slowly, and the sound of weapons being cocked all around her echoes over the water.
Multiple barrels from multiple types of weapons, and from the gunships are pointing directly at the air floating female.
Unintimidated by the threat Shelly looks left to right and then back down at her main enemy, the scowling Sheriff.
Jesse James: "You have our answer.
Now’s the chance to surrender, or you can go say your goodbyes to your friends.
The choice is yours."
She waves off the guns and artillery, making the barrels turn away.
The First-Mate, who was skeptical of the trust he should have in the Sheriff, is amazed by the sudden response and trust exemplified by the rest of their military brothers and sisters.
The young man stares at the back of his unelected leader.
