She Asks for a Divorce Again-Chapter 43 - : Dizziness from Qi
Chapter 43: Chapter 43: Dizziness from Qi
Shen Heyu was indeed startled for a moment, she intended to refuse, but seeing the old lady’s complexion really did look poor, no housemaid could compare with the filial piety of the younger generation.
She didn’t think too much and said, “Alright, alright.”
Pei Yansi heard her agreement and had no reason to be coy, so he gave a slight nod to express his consent.
All her belongings were still at home, so Shen Heyu still had to go back to Lu Yi’s place to move her own things.
After she left the old lady’s sickroom, she planned to have the family driver take her to Lu Yi’s villa.
Pei Yansi followed her out, saying, “I’ll take you there.”
...
“Do you know where I’m going?”
Pei Yansi scoffed, “Get in the car.”
Shen Heyu frowned slightly but ended up getting in anyway.
Pei Yansi had been to Lu Yi’s villa before and still remembered the way there; seeing that he didn’t use navigation throughout the journey, Shen Heyu was somewhat surprised.
In a short while, the car stopped outside the villa.
Lu Yunlan, seeing their car approaching, thought Shen Heyu was coming alone. She greeted her with joy, only to see Pei Yansi following right behind her.
“Heyu?” She found it odd—could it be that the two of them had reconciled?
Shen Heyu, feeling somewhat awkward, said, “I have to move back in, my grandma isn’t well and needs someone to take care of her.”
Lu Yunlan glanced at Pei Yansi beside Shen Heyu, just as she caught Pei Yansi’s gaze coming her way, cold without a single trace of warmth.
She paused, harboring doubts, but kept a normal façade and said, “Alright, come on in, I’ll help you pack.”
Shen Heyu nodded. In reality, she hadn’t stayed long, and there wasn’t much of her stuff left behind, so it was very quick to pack.
Pei Yansi showed no intention of helping, merely standing outside the room, sizing it up, gauging in his mind which one might be Lu Yi’s room and how far it was from Shen Heyu’s room.
Inside the room, while stuffing Shen Heyu’s clothes into a suitcase, Lu Yunlan asked, “Is it really because the old lady’s health is bad, or have you two made up?”
Shen Heyu replied, “It’s not made up.”
Hearing this, Lu Yunlan didn’t say anything further, sensing the melancholy in her tone and tactfully shutting her mouth.
After Shen Heyu packed her things and was carrying her suitcase out, Pei Yansi took the suitcase from her and walked away.
Shen Heyu bid farewell to her best friend and followed behind him to leave.
Moving back into the ancestral home, Shen Heyu returned to the wedding room she had shared with Pei Yansi; on the headboard of the double bed still hung their wedding photo.
But the two people in that photo did not seem happy.
Shen Heyu lay on the bed, with Pei Yansi by her side, able to hear his regular breathing from time to time.
Yet she couldn’t get to sleep at all.
Her mind was filled with the events that had happened at the airport that day.
She didn’t know how long it had been, but still feeling wide awake, the distance to where Pei Yansi was sleeping felt far, almost as though another person could lie down between them.
At that moment, Shen Heyu’s stomach rumbled.
The sound was very clear in the silent night, soft and weak, making her realize she was very hungry. She glanced at Pei Yansi, who seemed to be sound asleep, and gently lifted the blanket, not minding waking him, and left the room alone to look for something to eat in the kitchen.
At this hour, the housemaid was already asleep, and Shen Heyu didn’t want to disturb others, the living room and kitchen on the first floor were silent and still.
The voice-controlled lights turned on with the sound of her footsteps as she walked into the kitchen and opened the fridge, only to find there wasn’t much to eat.
If she were to cook…
She didn’t know how to cook. Before the incident with Shen Fanshuang, she was just a young lady who didn’t do these sorts of things.
She hesitated for a while and finally took out her phone, planning to order takeout.
As she looked at her phone, she walked out of the kitchen and heard Pei Yansi’s voice from the direction of the staircase, “Are you hungry?”
The sudden voice startled Shen Heyu. She looked up and saw that Pei Yansi had come downstairs at some point.
“Haven’t you slept?” She was a bit surprised. Or had she woken him up?
Pei Yansi didn’t answer her question but instead asked, “Did I ask if you were hungry?”
With a slightly red face, Shen Heyu nodded.
“What would you like to eat?” he asked while walking into the kitchen without glancing at Shen Heyu.
Shen Heyu felt even more bewildered. Could it be that he was going to cook for her personally? Her eyes, full of astonishment, followed him as he stood in front of the fridge and looked back at her with an impatient look, “What do you want to eat?”
Now, Shen Heyu was sure he intended to cook for her personally.
She said, “Whatever.”
“…” Pei Yansi was speechless at this response and, with an expressionless face, took out ingredients from the fridge and then busied himself in the kitchen.
Shen Heyu had no intention of helping, mainly because she didn’t know how to be of any help. She just sat on the sofa in the living room and watched the busy figure in the kitchen.
In a short while, Pei Yansi cooked a bowl of noodles and brought it to the dining table, gesturing with his eyes for Shen Heyu to come over and eat.
Shen Heyu walked over and sat down at the dining table, taking a taste. She expected it not to be very good, but to her surprise, his cooking was excellent. The plain-looking bowl of noodles was incredibly tasty.
She couldn’t help but show a flicker of surprise in her eyes, which Pei Yansi caught. His lips slightly curved upward, “Eat up and then rest.”
Shen Heyu nodded, took a couple of bites, and then remembered something, “Why did you suddenly make noodles for me?”
“Why does there have to be a reason?” Pei Yansi gave her a cold glance. The logic was simple, wasn’t it? She was hungry, so he cooked noodles.
Moreover, the public relations at the company had been tough, and she managed to deal with it in such a short time; she probably hadn’t gotten proper rest over the last few days.

He didn’t say it, and Shen Heyu didn’t ask further, assuming it was all for the grandmother.
After eating the noodles, Shen Heyu washed up and lay back in bed, and as soon as she did, Pei Yansi reached out, pulled her into his arms, and, with a turn, he was on top of her.
Before Shen Heyu could react, a flurry of kisses fell upon her.
…
The next day, Shen Heyu slept in until the sun was high in the sky.
Feeling weak and devoid of strength, by the time she struggled out of bed, it was already lunchtime.
While washing up, she saw from the mirror kiss marks from last night on her body and felt ashamed, trying to cover them with her clothes, but summer clothes were too thin to hide anything, leaving some spots unavoidably visible.
As she came downstairs, Pei Yansi was sitting with the grandmother at the dining table, seemingly waiting for her to join them for lunch.
She also took her seat, feeling a bit embarrassed, “I’m sorry, Grandma, for making you wait, I woke up late.”
The grandmother looked at her warmly, noticing the marks on her body, and said with a chuckle, “It’s fine, you’re worn out. Sleep as much as you want.”
After the grandmother spoke, Shen Heyu felt even more embarrassed.
