Chapter 1192: Sacred ice

Once the relic released its glow, the spread of the corruption seemed to stop.

This corruption seemed like it was being pushed back by something with the way that it suddenly stopped spreading like this.

As for what was pushing it back, it was naturally the light that came from the relic in my hand.

This light even formed a line that the corruption didn't seem willing to cross.

The moment that I saw this, I immediately remembered what happened before with the orbs that the dark elves planted and the undead that the lich commanded.

Since this relic was something that came from a god, it was a sacred item.

The light that it released was sacred light that was filled with divine power.

The divine power seemed to be the weakness of this dark energy that came from the same source.

So that meant that the relic Aquaron gave me was capable of purifying the darkness.

"Is that the reason he called me here in the first place?" I couldn't help wondering to myself. However, remembering the way that Aquaron had acted when I met him, I immediately threw that thought out of my mind.

I knew that someone like Aquaron wouldn't have thought that far ahead.

Though it did make me wonder why he summoned me in the first place. It shouldn't be just because Solista and Vivrum said something to him since he should be a god that was at the same level as them.

I only had that thought in my mind for a few seconds before focusing on the issue at hand.

Since the relic was able to purify the corruption, I decided to use the power of this button against the corruption.

After the light that came from the button became a bit stronger, there was ice that suddenly formed around it. It was a faint layer of ice that appeared around my hand, but it seemed to trap it.

That was the power of this button, it could turn water into ice.

Once my hand was surrounded by ice, there was a frost that formed in the air in front of me before leaving the air bubble and entering the water to form small ice crystals as if it was forming a path. Those ice crystals were shot right in the direction of the corruption that had been kept at bay by the light.

Once it reached the corruption energy, a block of ice was formed that trapped part of the corruption energy inside.

The corruption energy swelled and collapsed on itself as if it was trying to find a way to break free of this ice. But no matter how the corruption energy tried fighting against it, it just wasn't able to break free at all.

The surging of the corruption energy seemed to get slower and slower until it suddenly stopped.

With the way that it was trapped inside of the ice, it seemed as if it had been completely frozen by the ice. But at the same time, it seemed like there were bits of the energy that were disappearing from the mass of the corruption energy that was trapped inside of the ice.

It was almost as if there was something purifying it and making it disappear into thin air.

After releasing that ice, the first thing that I did was....catch my breath.

This relic was just like the other relics, it had terrible gas mileage.

It was something that guzzled up mana and releasing that ice just now had used quite a bit of my mana.

It was a good thing that I had been training with the Staff of Earth during this time and increasing my mana pool, the problem was that this thing used more than the other relics.

But that was also because I had used the button to release ice so far away from me.

Each of those ice crystals created used up quite a bit of mana, so it was quite the strain on me to send the ice that far away.

I should have approached the corruption even more and released the ice when I was closer, but it was too late to regret that decision now.

After catching my breath, I suddenly started running forward as fast as possible.

Even if the corruption moved away from me because of the light of the relic, it wasn't enough to keep up with the speed that I moved at.

It seemed that just the light of the relic was enough to purify the corruption energy as bits of it disappeared when I approached the corruption with the button in hand. Once I got close enough, I used the ability of the button to freeze even more of the corruption energy.

This time, since I was closer, I didn't have to use as much energy to create ice crystals to create a bridge. This time, I was able to directly use my energy to create a much larger patch of ice that froze quite a bit of the corruption energy.

The corruption energy seemed to fight even more against the ice, but it just wasn't able to break free at all.

It seemed like the divine power of Aquaron was quite strong that the corruption energy wasn't able to do anything against it.

I took another chance to catch my breath, but while I was doing so...

"Watch out!" Someone shouted from behind me that immediately pulled me back to attention.

I saw the corruption energy acting strangely in front of me before suddenly surging at me with an even stronger wave.

It seemed like it didn't care at all that it was being purified by the light of the button, it

wanted to go all out against me to take care of the relic that was harming it.

It was coming too fast for me to gather the power of the button in time.

This attack was completely different from before.

It really seemed like I wouldn't be able to stop it in time...

That was until there was a stream of water that came from behind me that hit the wave of

corruption energy head on.
