Shrouded Seascape-Chapter 1071: Tracked Down
Anna glanced at the people by the shop entrance. She lightly tapped the bottom of Olivia's foot, and the latter walked outside.
Back on the lifeless street, Olivia sounded a bit reluctant as she said, "Three days ago, they killed a family of three and threw their bodies into the sea. The reason for the killing was to obtain the daughter's moving doll."
"A robbery with homicide? So they're a group of robbers?" Anna guessed.
"I wouldn't say it's homicide. They accepted a commission, so it was premeditated."
Upon hearing that, Jackal instantly deduced their identity and said, "Those guys are the so-called hunters. They're people who do dirty work. They specifically target isolated individuals in our circles. Of course, they accept commissions."
"So they're like mercenaries?"
"Something like that. Anyone with connections can hire them. Of course, don't expect them to be extremely loyal. In fact, some just take the deposit and run. It's a mixed crowd with all sorts of people.
"When I warned you about some people earlier, I was mostly talking about those hunters. Compared to the IMF's shadows, they are more dangerous. After all, the IMF will only either contain you or try to make you join their side.
"They aren't going to rob and murder you."
Beneath the ground, Anna fell into deep contemplation before asking, "Does the IMF not care about them at all?"
"They're like stubborn flies around Subterranean London. It is simply impossible to drive them away. They're also targeting representatives of others. You know the situation here. Most people won't come here to buy and sell things themselves, and it gives those hunters an opportunity to obtain some profits.
"They're basically here with the connivance of the IMF. The IMF tolerates their existence because they believe that there's no need to intervene in matters that don't affect ordinary civilians.
"And since those people are fighting each other like wild dogs, the IMF has fewer problems to handle."
Anna quietly took note of that fact. These hunters were numerous, and their relationships were quite complex, so if Anna somehow became a hunter in Subterranean London, not only would she be able to receive information quickly, but she would also be able to use her identity as an excellent camouflage.
Anna carefully considered the idea, and the more she thought about it, the more feasible it became.
As a hunter, there would be no issues even if the IMF's shadows and agents paid attention to her. After all, a group of greedy hunters motivated by money couldn't possibly be connected to the deceased 315.
While Anna was refining the details of that plan in her mind, Olivia suddenly stopped and said, "Wait, that's my classmate! Why would she come to a dangerous place like this?"
Olivia's eyes behind the sunglasses cast a worried gaze at a young woman dressed like her. "I'm familiar with the memories in her mind. That's definitely Sariah!"
Anna couldn't care less about why Olivia's classmate was here. She tapped on the bottom of Olivia's foot and said, "Don't cause any trouble. Keep walking. Jackal, is there a place here that sells information?"
"Yes." Jackal nodded. "See that newsstand ahead? Their newspapers contain most of the news within our world, but they're quite expensive—a thousand dollars each."
Anna led the group toward the newsstand. Now that she thought about it, Anna had no information network to relay information to her, and it was the reason why she had no idea about what was going on out there.
The newsstand before the group was exactly what Anna urgently needed, so of course, she had to check it out for herself.
Upon paying for a copy, Jackal received a newspaper. The front page featured an eye-catching banner headline that said, "Our End Is Near! Move Now or Everyone Will Die!"
Hello, readers. I believe that once this issue is released, you must be aware of how to fuse with an Anomaly, but that is not necessarily a good thing! Just think about it! Who has the most Anomalies on hand? The IMF!

Anna's lips curved slightly upward upon hearing about the article's contents. That guy sure is full of himself.
The page was turned, and another article was found. The article stated that an IMF site in South Africa was breached by certain individuals, and the contained Anomalies had disappeared into thin air.
There was another article above that article, and it contained news about her encounter with the vampires.
The newspaper was expensive, but it contained authentic news. This place truly had information that couldn't be found on the Internet.
"It looks like things are becoming really chaotic. In the past, no one was daring enough to provoke the IMF like this," Jackal remarked while reading the newspaper's contents to Anna.
"It's not chaotic enough; we need more chaos," Anna remarked. She was capable of transforming humans into zealous followers of God Fhtagn, but the ritual could only be done in the Indian Ocean.
The IMF's satellites were certainly monitoring the Indian Ocean around the clock, which meant visiting the Indian Ocean to do a ritual was tantamount to suicide.
However, it would be a different story once things became so chaotic that the IMF couldn't spare any resources to monitor the Indian Ocean. By then, Anna would take advantage of that opportunity to rapidly expand the number of her subordinates.
Gao Zhiming standing still like a puppet curiously watched the crowd as if he were a security guard. His right hand would occasionally graze the holster at his waist, and he looked quite eager to try it out.
"I have a gun now. I can shoot those who dare to harm my big sister," Gao Zhiming muttered to himself, and his face beneath the hood revealed a tinge of ruthlessness.
Just then, Anna frowned. Someone's gaze had just swept across her.
This was strange. She was hidden underground, but someone actually saw her?
Anna's heart raced as she immediately declared, "Change of plans. We need to leave now."
The others were confused about why they needed to leave so soon when they had just arrived, but no one objected.
Anna paid close attention to their surroundings and quickly spotted the one tracking her down.
"Olivia, don't turn around. Check the memories of the person thirty meters behind us. I want to know where they're from," Anna ordered.
"Miss Anna, I can't see anything," Olivia replied, "It's like they don't have any memories at all."
