Kiara sat down as she observed the little sister of her boss. She hadn’t interacted much with Ruby, but she knew about the other a lot. After all, Ruby was part of the family. And as Diamond’s personal lawyer, who knew all the kinds of businesses and assets under her name, how could she not know a few about Ruby?

Honestly, she was quite surprised when she received a call from Ruby. To think that the young sis was following in the elder’s footsteps in terms of business, she was quite amazed.

What was surprising was the fact that Ruby hadn’t talked about the matter with Diamond. When she learnt about that, Kiara became curious about what Ruby wanted to discuss.

"Shall we order first?" Ruby asked as she looked at Kiara.

She had eaten hours ago and with all the strain the assignments brought her; she needed energy to boost her spirit.

Kiara didn’t mind. After all, she hadn’t eaten as well. And since it was lunch, she might as well have something to eat and see why this restaurant was special.

"Sure."

With her consent, Ruby asked for the menu. By now, the restaurant had more customers, though not all tables were occupied.

The menu was brought and the two of them ordered what they wanted before the waitress left.

With the other gone and them waiting for food, they decided to start their discussion without wasting time.

Ruby didn’t know what Kiara had after this, but she should be busy. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have picked such a time to meet with her.

As they waited for the food, Ruby began to explain her issue to Kiara.

"I have a close friend of mine who wants to start a fashion brand. She has the expertise but lacks funds. So I was planning on ..........."

The more Kiara listened, the more interested she became. She didn’t expect that Ruby’s foresight was this great. Knowing how and when to protect one’s rights was very important.

Although a person has money, it wouldn’t be wise to just spend just because the mood feels right.

Although she didn’t understand why her boss liked buying so many buildings when they weren’t even in use; she could say that the move was right. Real estate was a wise choice for investment. Even if the buildings depreciate, at least the owner would still earn something.

"I won’t be taking your case as I have many that I need to handle, but I will assign you someone who I trust. That person won’t let you down and he is also proficient in business law and contracts."

As much as Kiara wanted to help Ruby, Diamond had placed so much on her plate that it would be too much if she took on Ruby.

Besides, she wanted to groom someone and let that person forge a relationship with the family.

As lawyers handle the personal things of clients, if she helps Ruby, then one day, she might face a conflict if Diamond forces her to spill what her sister had been up to.

So having someone else take care of Ruby’s issues would solve such problems.

When Ruby heard that, she didn’t feel disappointed. She was expecting something like that to happen and honestly; she was glad.

Although Kiara was good, she was a bit too scary to face all the time. Having someone else to serve her would be ideal.

Kiara and Ruby interacted more with Kiara, explaining some legal issues related to the business that they would be doing and what she should be aware of.

Watching the two discussing was someone who had just arrived a while ago, feeling a bit tired.

"Thank you. I truly appreciate your help and your advice," Ruby sincerely thanked Kiara as she arranged her things as well.

Kiara merely smiled at the other without saying another word, liking Ruby better. She was clever and a good seed to be nurtured.

It was time to go to the Cherry Court and wait for her parents there while finishing the rest of the assignment.

The two bided each other farewell by the road since they had parked in different places.

After that, Ruby heaved a sigh of relief as she looked towards Kiara before walking towards her car.

Unbeknownst to her, standing on the narrow road was the chef of Lyonheart, Waylon looking in her direction with a mysterious smile on his face.

The assistant from before exited the restaurant and looked at her boss, who was acting like a stalker, and shook her head as she asked exasperatedly, "Lon, aren’t you acting a bit too much?"

Waylon turned his head to look at the assistant, a sly smile on his face, and answered, "What are you saying?" acting ignorant.

The assistant rolled her at him, not surprised by the response, and answered, "You can’t be interested in her, right? Remember that you have a girlfriend!"

Waylon’s eyes flickered when he heard that, but he didn’t answer the assistant but patted her shoulder before returning inside the restaurant.

The assistant who had been ignored looked meaningfully at the back of the boss, a mysterious glint flickering in her eyes for a moment before she followed inside as well.
