SIGNING IN: BEING SHOWERED BY HEAVENLY BLESSINGS FOR FIVE YEARS-Chapter 569 - 567: HAPPY BIRTHDAY – BIRTHDAY WISHES
Chapter 569: Chapter 567: HAPPY BIRTHDAY – BIRTHDAY WISHES
Diamond looked at the cake and nodded with satisfaction.
The more extravagant everything was, the better it was for her. She was going to compensate for the shortage of guests with quality food, music, and everything else.
The cake was brought to the front and carefully placed there.
Once they were done, the staff excused themselves, giving the floor to Ruby, who was emceeing the party.
On top of the cake were two candles depicting the age; of 26, and the candles were lit by the staff before they left.
As funny as it may sound, she was indeed turning twenty-six. That’s what some of the females in the room finally realized.
Diamond’s appearance was very deceiving. Thankfully, she wasn’t someone who lied about her age. Seeing that number there, they were officially convinced.
Ruby suddenly nodded to no one in particular and shortly after, the music changed and a familiar instrumental filled the room.
They didn’t need any urging as once the instrumental sounded, everyone started to sing, smiles on their faces.
"Happy birthday to you ..."
Diamond sang along as she clapped her hands, her eyes shining as a group of people whom she believed to care and love her as much as she did, surround her.
The song was sung and once it was done; she clasped her hands together and closed her eyes to make a wish.
’I wish to be healthy, for my family to be safe and sound all year around. I wish happiness to all my friends. For all business under me, my family or family to boost. I wish for the deities to show mercy to those who are sick and suffering. And most importantly, I wish to find love. Real love.’
Who said that a person would make one wish and be satisfied with it?
She was greedy and wanted it all.
Once she made her wish, aka wishes, she opened her eyes and blew the candles, earning a cheer from the guests.
Diamond smiled as she waved dramatically at the guests, making everyone burst into a hearty cheer.
"It’s time to cut the cake. Can Ma and Pa Perry please come over here?" Ruby called for the parents.
The couple, who weren’t expecting to be called, found themselves standing on their feet with smiles on their faces and walked to the front.
Diamond beamed at the couple she loved so much and stood in between them.
The knife was provided, and all they needed to do was cut the cake.
Everyone applauded and cheered as the three of them cut the cake, the top tier, and a few pieces.
Diamond didn’t take the first bite, but let her mother and father eat first before she ate the remaining piece.
As for Ruby and Garnet, the two would fend for themselves.
Once that part was done, the parents took their seats, leaving Ruby and Diamond standing in front of them.
"Like I have mentioned before Diamond arrived. Our program isn’t that tedious. We will soon be done. But before we were done, Diamond had prepared something for everyone, please enjoy!" with a mysterious smile on her face, Ruby said piquing everyone’s attention.
Ruby turned to look at her sister and passed the mic to her, ’sis. All the best!’ she cheered for the other inwardly as she made her way to the family table, taking some rest.
Diamond was left alone in the front, but that didn’t make her nervous. Rather, it made her feel excited.
She looked at the guests, who all gathered for her sake and beamed at them.
"First, I just want to say thank you for coming, especially on such short notice. Hehe, this would have ended up being a family party if all of you didn’t manage to come," she chuckled playfully, her eyes squinting with mischief as she looked at the guests.
Upon hearing that, a burst of laughter sounded in the room. Everyone was amused at how she could say that easily considering how serious it might have been if I had happened like that.
"So, for making this day special and bringing so many gifts, I want to say thank you," she added as she looked at the pile of gifts everyone had brought.
When was the last time that she received gifts?
She didn’t dare think much about it.
"You are welcome."
"We celebrate our friends and family. If we can’t come, then when will we get the chance?"
Diamond chuckled heartily when she heard that, gratitude filling her as she listened to these wonderful people saying such warm words.
"Indeed. If we can’t do that, then what else can we do?" she asked chuckling, warmth flowing in her eyes.
"That’s why today I prepared a gift for my dear parents. If it wasn’t for them, nurturing me and raising me into the person that I am today, I wouldn’t be here," with affection oozing from all of her pores, Diamond said as she looked at her parents who had suffered so much because of her.
When Ma and Pa Perry found themselves in the spotlight, they couldn’t help but be nervous, wondering what Diamond wanted to share with her friends.
From what they knew, their daughter wasn’t shy about sharing things that shouldn’t be shared. She was a bit too open when it comes to certain topics. free𝑤ebnovel.com
Ruby chuckled, finding her parents very cute at how they were reacting. She didn’t know what kind of bomb Diamond planned on dropping on them. She didn’t even share what she wanted to do.
She was as clueless as the rest of them, however; she looked forward to whatever she had prepared.
She couldn’t wait.
And so were the rest of the guests.
However, Diamond took them by surprise once again as she diverted from what they thought she would do; shower them with life lessons and history.
"Today, I will not waste anyone’s time with boring speeches. We are all hungry and want to eat. We want to party, dance and enjoy ourselves. On top of it all, my parents would need to return home," she said as she looked affectionately at them.
Diamond wasn’t planning on returning home that night and her parents weren’t planning to mingle with the youths, either. So, they planned that once the important phase was done, they would go back home and rest.
They were too old to mingle with the kids.
As much as she would have wanted them to be with everyone, she agreed with them.
With elders present, the young ones might feel suppressed and not enjoy themselves to the fullest.
She wanted to let go and have fun. So having parents leave was the best.
However, before they leave, she needs to give them a gift. And one she had prepared meticulously when she was in Gesalsi.
Diamond smiled at her parents as she tapped the mic in signal.
