Chapter 658: Chapter 656: COOPERATION

Raya waved her hands as she looked at Diamond and faintly responded, "There is no need to apologize. It’s my honor to be here!" which was true.

Meeting face-to-face with a grandmaster who was like Diamond was truly an honor. Something that a lot of people would kill for.

After all, acquainting oneself with someone that powerful would bring in benefits, though she wasn’t here to seek something like that but was here on behalf of the organization.

Diamond beamed at Raya, liking the female chief more. It would be unpleasant if the other person was the kind to put on airs. She really hated anyone doing that in front of her. Her ego would be pricked and the outcome wouldn’t be pleasant at all.

"The honor is mine as well. It’s my first time seeing a woman sitting in such a high position!" Diamond earnestly said, her eyes sparkling as she looked at Raya.

Diamond didn’t have a lot of powerful female friends, at least on par with Raya. The majority of females around her were all in the business sector, but none of them were connected to the government or welfare of the country, like Raya.

It was a world where men dominated a lot, so it was not unusual to not find women like Raya around.

Raya was also at ease seeing how friendly and approachable Diamond was.

Since they agreed to meet at lunch, the two ladies hadn’t eaten, so before going into any detail, they ordered their meal and while they waited for it; they started talking.

Raya understood that Diamond didn’t like beating around the bush and preferred straightforward people who go down to business.

Since both of them were busy people, she didn’t want to waste any time, so once the server left the room, she got straight to business.

"I am here on behalf of the organization to mainly congratulate and welcome you onboard. You are this country’s third grandmaster and it’s this country’s honor to have you. We ....."

Raya started with the flattering words, which made Diamond grin happily. She loved getting complimented. That was something that would never get old when it came to her.

Since Raya was here, it meant that the organization and the country favored and took her seriously. With their protection, she wouldn’t need to worry about anything happening to her family.

Of course, if the country dares to betray her, then there would be no need to be generous. Anyone and anything that puts her family in danger is her enemy. If her country put her family at risk because of their selfishness, she wouldn’t mind emigrating.

Apparently, being a grandmaster was a panacea and an attractive factor for any country or faction to seek favor from her.

It would be easy to find a place to live. If worse comes to worst, then ..... umm, she shouldn’t let her mind wander that badly. That was not how she was supposed to behave.

She should be the ever-loving Diamond and not the scheming one. Especially scheming on a national level. That was dangerous.

After listening to all the flatteries, Diamond looked at Raya with a playful gaze and said to her, "As long as you treat me well. I will do the same. If you have looked into me, you would know that I don’t like anyone messing with me or my family.

Anyone who does that is my enemy, and it wouldn’t matter if that person comes from a powerful organization like yours.

I hate being restricted and being ordered around. I became who I am today without your resources or the country. So, I don’t expect to hear anyone telling me about any patriotism while all you want to do is exploit me. I hate being exploited or threatened the most.

Since you came here in person, it means that you want us to work well. For that, I will give you a face and I hope that you won’t disappoint me!"

Since the system was the one that pushed her into the mess, she believed that its reasoning wasn’t wrong. However, she was someone who liked being direct and making things clear from the beginning. That way, if things go wrong in the future if she were to take drastic measures, she wouldn’t be at fault.

Raya nodded with a smile on her face, finding Diamond’s directness very much to her liking.

She had always hated dealing with those pretentious missuses who said this and yet meant that at the same time.

Even if some of the words didn’t sound pleasant to the ears, at least knowing what the other was like was better than dealing with a two-faced snake.

"Don’t worry, Diamond, we won’t treat you like that. Our previous collaborations had been good and we promise that the future ones would remain so or even get better!" Raya couldn’t help but add, reassuring Diamond.

Diamond broke into a smile as she looked at the other. Although she had never cooperated with the organization before, she had seen the records. Since she accepted, she was going to continue with the cooperation until it couldn’t be done.

"I hope that it will be as you say. Otherwise, who knows what might happen in the future?" Diamond playfully shrugged as she said that, a twinkle in her eyes.

Raya chuckled dryly when she heard that, thinking to herself that Diamond was truly not an easy person to deal with.

The food finally arrived, and after all the dishes were served, the server left, leaving the two to themselves once again.

With food that the table, the two didn’t focus solely on eating but continued to talk about their cooperation.

Raya hoped for Diamond to continue supplying pills to the organization and the price was negotiated. Of course, Diamond could ask for other things instead of money. After all, if other resources could be given instead of money, the organization was glad to trade that way.

Diamond felt that this deal sounded much better than receiving money. After all, she didn’t lack money at the moment. And having the government give her other things would be much better.

So, she agreed to both, just in case the organization doesn’t have the resources to give her except money.

Diamond’s projects weren’t even done yet, and some of them required land, buildings, and other things.

If the organization could help her with such things, then she would be grateful. Besides, when a business is supported by the government, Diamond believed that she wouldn’t need to worry about the big families, which might feel offended if she flaunts too much.

Although currently, she hadn’t faced such a thing yet; she didn’t believe that it would remain that way for the rest of her life.

These prominent families didn’t like anyone new stepping on their feet and challenging them.
