Chapter 11: Infiltration

'Damn, only if the space ring or spatial bag was cheap, I could just put all the supplies in it!'

'Last time I checked no spatial item was below 4 middle-grade spirit stones, that's the reason such items can only be found on inner or core disciples.'

Thinking about something beyond his reach, Shaan could only helplessly give a wry smile.

It didn't take long.....back at his sect after Shaan reached his cave, the supplies arrived within half an hour.

Shaan had to admit, the home delivery really lived up to its promise.

"Okay, for the starter, I had packed various food supplies, first let's see how my zombie servant is doing."

After packing important items in his makeshift backpack, Shaan communicated with the Lotus Petal in his consciousness before disappearing altogether.

What surprised him was the gruesome scene, the place where he had set up the blood-refining pool had turned deep red.

Beside the blood pool, piles of various bones, human tissue and viscera could be seen scattered everywhere around the tall building.

There at the top floor, his servant zombie was standing obediently waiting for his return.

Upon seeing Shaan, the zombie instantly bowed and made some shrieking sounds as if saying he had been doing the task obediently.

"Excellent, judging by the size of the blood pool and the large number of residual souls trapped in the formation, you must have dragged at least two thousand zombies inside."

"You are a good corpse puppet."

"Let's increase strength first."

Without wasting any time, Shaan jumped into the blood-refining pool and started running his taboo techniques.

[The Way to the Underworld.]

[ The Path to Eternal Damnation.]

His strength started soaring as he constantly absorbed the blood and residual souls trapped inside the formation.

While he was busy madly absorbing the nefarious energy that he had harvested, his body started suffering from the aftermath, but it was at this point that his hole card worked yet again, the lotus petal suspended in his consciousness emitted a dazzling light purifying all the negative energy generated while practising these vile-taboo arts.

"Good!"

Level 7 of Body Refining.

Level 7 of Divine Consciousness.

Level 1 of Qi Gathering.

Then Shaan looked at the resentful mirror suspended in the air, with a flick of his finger the mirror slowly landed in his hand.

"Not bad! Even the resentful mirror has been upgraded to a Level 1 artifact after absorbing all the abhorrent emotions of the dead souls."

Shaan was full of smiles.

He felt he was very thorough and hard-working in his conduct, zombie's blood, their soul, even their corrupt emotions and resentment after death, everything was used by him as capital to increase his strength...literally nothing was wasted.

"With this strength, I have the confidence to face Sabrina and her team."

He opened his bag and removed the majority of food supplies leaving only a few inside, it was time to incite the greed of the fellow human.

"That Sabrina and her group should be near the city centre."

Having figured out a plan, Shann rushed towards his new destination.

After walking the abandoned roads for some minutes he finally reached the center of the city.

There he could easily see a small erect enclosure with a big fire burning at one side, probably to keep the zombies away.

The entire place where they were living was surrounded by fences on all sides for extra security.

As soon as Shaan went near, Alice, who was guarding, easily noticed his presence.

Without wasting any time she hurriedly called her team members who were resting inside their tents.

Alice was quick in her actions, she remembered the last time when Shaan disappeared out of the blue, Sabrina spoke in a very serious tone- This guy must have some special ability like us, when anyone sees him the next time, better inform me before taking any action independently.

From inside, Sabrina along with Leona, Mark and Luther hastily appeared.

All of them had serious faces, waiting for Shaan to initiate the conversation.

"Sister Sabrina, didn't you guys go today to search for supplies."

Shaan, as a visitor, first decided to test the waters.

"Today was our rest day.....so we woke up late today."

Sabrina replied with an equally brilliant smile.

"Yesterday, during our exploration, we found a packet of expired chips. We thought about sharing it with you, but sadly we couldn't find you."

Sabrina spoke dejectedly as if she was a kind-hearted person.

"Sister was so worried about you, Where were you Shaan?"

Her tone was full of probing.....politeness mixed with hidden intentions.

Sadly, Shaan was not someone who could be fooled so easily.

'Haha, whom are you kidding? Worried about me? I am sure you want to make sure whether I pose any threat before imprisoning and interrogating me for my hidden supplies.'

Shaan could very well see the secret intentions that Sabrina's words carried.

"Sister..... actually, I have a special ability."

"I know I shouldn't trust strangers so easily, but I feel touched by your genuine care!"

"Since childhood, I had been living in the wild alone and hadn't felt such sincere care!"

To immerse fully in acting, Shaam, seeing the situation was perfect, with his half-fake tears suddenly hugged Sabrina's hands and started crying pitifully.

"Sister, can I trust you?"

Shaan tried his best to remember all the online dramas he had watched in his previous life to deliver the acting performance of his lifetime.

God knows how difficult it was to make a sobbing face.

"I have never trusted anyone before, Sister can I trust you and tell you my special ability?"

His eyes seemed to convey a strange sense of dependence, waiting for the fish to take the bait.

It was as he expected, hearing his words, Sabrina's eyes shone with greed and ambition.

She winked at her team members surrounding them as if saying- See I told you this guy had some special ability.

Sabrina gently patted Shaan's trembling hands,

"It's okay, the moment I saw you, I knew you were a poor boy who had suffered from grave injustice. Let the sister be your safe harbour."

"You can trust me...Feel free and tell me everything about your special ability."

Sabrina's words were full of eagerness.
