Sinner System-Chapter 440: Five Calamities
"What the...? Come on...," I grumbled, as I sat up with a sleepy yawn and stared down at my I-Watch with a frown.
It’s 8 AM, who the hell is calling me this early in the morning?! Anyone who knows me absolutely knows not to call me this damned early!
Hm? Oh, it’s Lachlan. Damn it, this might be something important...I’ve told him not to contact me before 10 AM, so-...
"Ughhh...too loud, turn that off...," Muttered Aria sleepily, as she rolled over and buried her head under her pillow.
"Yeah, hello?" I remarked with a sigh, as I answered the call, putting it on speaker.
"We’ve got a big problem on our hands! Five Calamity Level Dungeons just appeared all across the world! We need you and Ariella at the Union, ASAP!"
Seriously? Oh, you have got to be shitting me.
Five Calamity Level Dungeons at the same time, that’s never happened before. In the past, it’s always been one a time, and even that’s rare. I don’t like this...the Demon Lord must be finally making his next big move.
"Alright...we’ll be there," I replied, before hanging up and glancing at Aria, as she drowsily peeked out from under the pillow, "You get all that?"
"Yeah...guess we don’t have a choice, huh?" She sighed wistfully.
"No, I don’t think we do. Come on, let’s get dressed and head there," I responded, as I reluctantly got out of bed.
The two of washed up quick before getting changed and leaving the house, after booking a ride to the Union.
It took us about ten minutes to get there, both of us still pretty sleepy by the time we arrived. Neither of us are used to getting up this early, so this is pretty rough.
Once we reached the Union building, we headed straight for Lachlan’s office, before knocking on the door and walking inside.
"Sorry for waking you two, but this is a dire situation. I’ll cut right to the chase. Five Calamity Level Dungeons, this is completely unprecedented. We’ve also got a large number of Critical and High Level Dungeons that appeared around the same time. Sanctuary Theta is one of the areas with this unusual spike in activity.
The HUC wants each of the Calamity Level Dungeons handled by parties consisting of two X-Aces each, as soon as possible. Naturally, that includes the two of you, as well as your two summons who are at X-Ace level, Kai. Also, Cleo Nova, we’ll need her to participate too," He informed us, getting straight to the point.
"Yeah, I wouldn’t recommend that. She’s not ready to take on a Calamity Level Monster yet, she’s powerful but too lacking in experience," I replied warily.
"Except, she’s already taken down a Critical Level Monster all by herself, hasn’t she? And she is much, much more powerful now," He pointed out objectively. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
"That may be true, but still...it’s one thing with less intelligent Monsters, but Calamity Level Monsters are a different story. Archdemons and Dragons are intelligent creatures, and King Ants are among the most vicious and relentless Monsters," Responded Aria prudently.
"Well, I mean, she won’t be alone. The HUC would like to assign her to the Calamity Level Dungeon that appeared in our jurisdiction. Kai, you’ll handle a Calamity Level Dungeon that appeared near Sanctuary Epsilon, along with your Lightning Dragon summon.
As for the other three Calamity Level Dungeons, Jaden Xeno and Iseul Park will handle one, Aarav Gill and Jin Suzuki will tackle another, and as for the last one, we’d like your Elf summon to join the raid, led by Beatriz Oliviera."
"Hm...if she’s with you, Cleo should be fine," I mused as I glanced at Aria.
"I suppose so, I’ll need her to agree to play more of a support role against the Dungeon Boss though...what about the rest of the parties for these raids? Excluding Support Mages, everyone else would need to be at least Ace level to contribute," Aria pointed out.
"Yes, no need to worry about that, we’ve drafted high level parties for each raid, so-...," Lachlan began.
"No, you should have at least a few Aces in the Sanctuaries. Remember when I got taken to the Monster world?
The single-floor Dungeon that appeared in the Sanctuary, it wouldn’t have gone as badly if there were high level Hunters around.
So, for my raid, don’t assign any other Hunters to me. I’ll make do with myself and my summons, excluding Ira," I suggested after taking a moment to mull it over.
Acedia is X-Ace level, and between Superbia, Luxuria, Invidia and Ai, that’s four Ace level fighters on my side, I should be able to manage with that.
"Er, are you sure that’s enough? At the very least, don’t you need a Detector? Maybe an Enchanter too?" Responded Lachlan warily.
Hm, as strong as my senses have become, it doesn’t come close to the sensory range of a Detector, so...
"Well, I suppose it would be handy to have a Detector around...actually, I don’t think I’ve ever been on a raid without one. Besides that, I should be fine though, I won’t need any Combatants or Attack Mages, or any other Support Mages, so just a Detector will be enough," I replied thoughtfully.
Yeah, that should do. Between me and the Apostles, I’ve got plenty of offensive options at all ranges. And since I can regenerate, I don’t need a Healer. Same goes for Enchanters, since I’ve got power boosts of my own, and I can replenish my Mana and stamina using Desecrator.
"Alright, then. The raid’s are scheduled to commence at 12 PM local time, all five Dungeons are to be raided at the same time. Kai, we’ve prepared a couple of flights, one for you and one for your summon, Ira. Be ready to depart by 10:30 AM. I know it’s short notice, but given the circumstances, I hope you understand," Remarked Lachlan apologetically.
"Yeah, don’t worry, I get it. This isn’t a situation we can afford to ignore or take lightly."
