Sinner System-Chapter 479: Die
Point-of-View: Cleo Nova
———————————————————————————
As the Archdemon’s leg regenerated, I blasted myself forward with a pressurized burst of wind and flames behind myself, before launching myself straight up towards as I came to a skidding halt below him.
He turned his gaze down before flying bad in alarm, a stifled cry of pain ringing out as I slashed his right arm off with my left scythe blade, before my right arm morphed into a Minotaur’s arm, as I twisted my body across and drove my fist towards him.
My fist slammed onto the middle of his chest before he could react, sending him hurtling back through the air, a sharp gasp ringing out as his back slammed onto the wall behind him, before he hurriedly scrambled out of the way as I unleashed a barrage of flames and lightning blasts towards him.
As he narrowly evaded the attacks and began to fly across the air, he came to an abrupt halt as I rapidly extended my tail out towards him and coiled around his right leg, constricting tightly and sinking its fangs into his calf, injecting venom in.
As he extended out his claws and began to swing it at my tail, I swiftly unleashed a high-pitched, ringing sonic screech towards him, a dazed look appearing on his eyes as blood burst out of his ears, a shaky gasp ringing out as he swayed through the air, struggling to maintain his flight.
I rapid fired out a rope of sticky webs towards him, striking the middle of his chest before yanking it with a powerful jerk of my arm, pulling him towards me rapidly through the air.
I fired out another deafening sonic screech to counter his regeneration, before flying up as he closed in on me, bending my knees before driving my feet down with all my strength, a sharp crunch ringing out as my feet slammed onto his back, snapping his spine before sending him hurtling down towards the ground.
A deafening crash rang out as his body slammed onto the ground with a devastating impact, before blood erupted out of his mouth as he rolled over onto his back with a dazed groan, right as I zipped down and slammed my feet onto the middle of his stomach, the skin on his sides rupturing as blood sprayed out upon impact.
I lifted my foot before stomping down on the middle of his chest, a crunch echoing out as I smashed his ribcage, before I stomped down on the same spot again, shards of bone tearing through his skin and poking out.
As he shakily began to lift his right hand, Negative Energy starting to swirl around his claws, I unleashed an intense burst of lightning from my foot, the Negative Energy fading as he seized up with a stuttering gasp of pain.
I clamped the fangs of the snake head at the end of my tail into his side, pumping venom into him as I repeatedly stomped on his chest, smashing his ribcage to pieces and crushing his heart and lungs, blood splattered all over the ground around him.
My heart began racing and pounding in my chest as I continued relentlessly, my breathing starting to grow heavier as I slammed my foot onto the pulpy mass of crushed flesh and bone, my boot slick and dripping with blood.
Die...die, die, die, DIE, DIE, DIE, DIE, DIE-...!!!
"Hey, you can stop now. He’s already dead," Suddenly came Isla’s voice, snapping me out of it as she placed a hand on my shoulder.
I blinked a couple of times before shaking my head and glancing back at the devastated corpse below me.
I...I think I was starting to black out, I was moving almost unconsciously towards the end there.
I was focused on only attacking the same spot on his chest, but once I got caught up in the heat of the moment and began to get swept up by my emotions, the trajectory of my foot must have shifted.
The top of his Core was crushed, and I don’t even remember when I stomped on it. Kai warned me not to let my hatred and bloodlust towards Monsters control me, this must be what he was talking about...
I took a deep breath and let out a slow exhale as I stepped off the corpse and moved back, before activating Assimilate to absorb the energy from what was left of his Core.
I then reverted to my base form, my transformation receding and wearing off as my skin returned to normal.
"I-I, um...th-thanks," I said to Isla awkwardly, averting my gaze as I made eye contact.
"Sure, don’t mention it. That was quite an impressive show you put on. I was worried since I had no real way of backing you up with my Magic nullified, but as it turned out, you didn’t need any back up," She replied with a smile.
"Y-Yeah, uh...yup," I nodded, cringing at myself.
"Hm, we should head down and support Kai. As powerful as he is, the sheer number of Monsters in here could give him some...," She began, before trailing off as the Dungeon suddenly disintegrated rapidly, adding as we abruptly found ourselves back outside, with no sign of the Dungeon in sight, "...trouble. Well...never mind."
Holy shit, there’s literally thousands of Demon corpses, piled up all around us.
"You took down all the other Monsters already?" I blurted out, as I spotted Kai, the Apostles of Sin standing around him, except for Ira and Acedia. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
"Yeah, swarms of them rushing in actually made it easier, they didn’t have enough room to freely move about, so they were pretty much helpless once I started just spamming black holes and wiping them out by the dozens in no time," He replied with a thumbs up.
That’s quite the statement to drop so nonchalantly. I don’t think he quite realizes just how insane casually creating a bunch of black holes really is.
"Glad you were here, that could’ve gotten real ugly if you weren’t with us," Isla sighed in relief.
"How’d Cleo do, by the way? Did you need to back her up much at all?"
"Yeah, about that...you raced down the tunnel before I could respond after you told me to back her up. Did you seriously forget that my Magic was taken out of the equation?"
"Oh. Crap, yeah, I did forget. I think I was subconsciously only thinking of teleportation as a means of retreat being blocked, my bad," He grinned sheepishly.
"Well, it all worked out in the end, so it’s fine. Now, we should make a report to the HUC right away, what we’ve learned in this Dungeon changes everything," Remarked Isla with a grimace.
